“Sieg Heil!”
Bright light. All white. Everywhere. A large door-less and windowless room. A round table sits at the center of the shapeless room. Around this, seven shadows sit on thrones. A sign hovers above each throne. The room is without air for this is a virtual simulation.
The seven shadows speak in unison their voices scrambled behind a veil of codes, “Heil, Skull Reich! Our knowledge boundless! Our power limitless! Our path ours! Our sacrifices great! Our lives Forever! Heil, Skull Reich!”
“I call this All-Heads meeting to order.” The Mad Scientist says, “The floor is yours, General.”
“My fellow heads, the Chair has failed us.” The General says, “Thanks to his blabbering, Fire is now aware of our existence. Then there was his utter failure to properly clean up the facility according to protocol. Then he drew unnecessary attention by hacking an American drone’s weapons system. And let us not forget, the final outcome of Team Six remains unknown.”
The room is still. The other heads are silent. Their nonchalance shows that this was all routine.
“You still lack imagination, General.” Mad Scientist responds, “By my calculations, they are all dead by now.”
“You still don’t get it.” The General says with a low growl, “Darya.”
“My spies report that an unregistered private jet left Cancun Airport en route to Florida.” Darya adds, “And the President’s granddaughters are currently en route to Andrews air force base.”
“Proves nothing!” The Mad Scientist says.
“Exactly. Skull Reich does not accept ambiguous outcomes!” The General says, “Adding to that disappointment are two hard drives that were taken from the facility by Team Six.”
“That sniveling dog of yours froths too much.” The Mad Scientist says, “The hard drives will be taken care of.”

“Don’t bother. This is now my clean up.” The General says, “And to be sure you do not interfere, I am calling for an All-Heads vote. All in favor of leaving this cleanup operation to me say I!”
Darya is the first to vote enthusiastically in agreement, then 3 foggy figures also agree. Only the Mad Scientist and one foggy shadow labeled ‘Shadow’ do not agree.
“Do I have your word this cleanup will succeed?” Shadow asks.
“I am a man of success.” The General says.
After a moment, Shadow ascents with an ‘I’. This completes the override of the Chair’s authority for only the unanimous votes of every head could bypass the Chair’s directives.
“Your motion is carried.” The Mad Scientist says begrudgingly, “Viel Glück!”
“I would not need luck if you had not failed in the first place.” The General says.
“Anything else?” The Mad Scientist asks.
“I will send two squads to confirm Team Six’s deaths and retrieve the hard drives.” The General says, “Darya, activate your sirens at the location to set up the groundwork.”
“As you command, my General.” Darya says.
“As for the facility, I will deploy local assets to render any excavation operations meaningless.” The General says, “You will all have my report in 10 hours regarding the entire cleanup.”
“Our monthly meeting for progress reports remains on track.” The Mad Scientist says, “This All-Heads meeting is now adjourned. Heil, Skull Reich!”
“Sieg Heil!” All the figures shout.
The room fades into oblivion. The meeting is over. Skull Reich is in motion.

Path of the Ancients
When humans with the ability to control the fundamental particles of the universe with their minds were first discovered, the age of space travel began in earnest. Relativistic travel faster than the speed of light became possible and humanity moved out into the stars. When it was discovered that these Mages could be turned into effective weapons, humanity turned back to its oldest pastime of war. Hundreds of years later as humanity was on the brink of self-destruction, with its taste for war finally beginning to wane, a new organization was created. The Conclave was formed to regulate all Mage’s within the human colonies. While the colonies maintained their independence, the Conclave’s control over access to interstellar travel made them the de facto power amongst humanity. As the old saying goes, ‘Power Corrupts’, and many people were unhappy with the way the Conclave had been leveraging its authority, not the least of which were the Mages they controlled. One unregistered illegal Mage by the name of Tyrial had made it his life's mission to dismantle the Conclave at any cost. After spending decades working towards his goals alone, he realized he would need the aid of willing allies in his crusade. Tyrial would need all the help he could get learning to work with others, dealing with his own dark past, and handling unfamiliar feelings of romantic interest. Content Warning Note: They are there to cover my behind. I honestly hesitated to put them there at all but I figured better safe than sorry. Gore in particular barely applies and the sexual content amounts to light Cinemax style at best. But, at least now you can’t say I didn’t warn you. POSTED: Currently, this story is being posted to RoyalRoad and ScribbleHub. If you see this story posted anywhere else, please report it to the user "Tyrial" on either of the aforementioned sites. Runicka: Tournament of Monsters (A GameLit Card Game Fantasy)
The runes are changing, and with it, the game itself changes. Taygion Ardwella finds himself stranded, alone, and on the run from some very determined guards who claim Tay's stolen from them. They're right, but that shouldn't mean Tay has to give back what he took. He's only been in Stormwall for a week and already, he's earning the ire of the most powerful and notorious House that controls the city's underground. And when their scion challenges Tay to a duel of cards, Tay will find himself thrust into a game of sorcery and strategy as he attempts to both find a way out of this mess and find his own way in the world. To do both, he'll need to learn to accept guidance and coaching where it's sorely needed, craft a deck of unimaginable power, and not die whenever his opponents try and cheat him out of a hard-earn victory. But not all is as it seems in the shadows of Stormwall, and if Tay can figure out the importance of what it is he's stolen, he may just have a chance at saving the game of Runicka. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Runicka: Tournament of Monsters is a high fantasy, card game-based adventure novel with enough magic, worldbuilding, and characters to fill a Sanderson series. I would consider it a part of the GameLit subgenre. This series in particular is not an isekai, and will start and end in a high fantasy setting complete with its own lore and backstory. It is a progression fantasy, and I am writing it inspired by all the Yu-Gi-Oh mangas/animes, and all the hours I've invested/wasted (depending on who you ask) playing TCGs like Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic: The Gathering. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a work in progress. In your journey through Stormwall alongside Tay, you'll probably find typos, grammatical errors, and maybe a confusing sentence every once in a while (although I hope to keep these to a minimum). That said, comments and suggestions on where I can improve are not only encouraged but greatly appreciated. And finally, expect new chapters every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~**Currently on a small hiatus. I have a bit of a workplace crisis going on. I'm still writing, but I don't have time to polish and publish. Chapters will return on a regular basis soon though!!**
