《Jacob WillBreaker》Chapter 36 New limbs
Advertisement
I spend the time in my tent making preparations in my body to support the new limbs I plan to create. Luckily I have stayed under the sheets of the bed another wise I would have difficulty explaining the new additions to my body.
Expanding my central nervous system while creating four new miniature hearts at the base of where I plan to create my new limbs, I start to consider designs. Xenos are a species with very little known about them so I can be lenient with the aesthetics of my arachnid limbs.
I sit on my bed staring into space until I come to a miniature epiphany.
To begin with, I make four strong and flexible tentacles which have high blood flow and numerous electrical glands. I then grow a lattice of high durability hair around them. Next, I grow interlocking 1-inch bone plates around the circumference of the tentacles, then for every third bone plate, I make a spike on the left and right side of the tentacle. With a length of 2m ( roughly 78 inches), each new appendage had a total of 52 spikes which I constructed to be able to secrete stomach acid.
Lastly, to ensure its function as a new limb I produce thousands of sensory organs found in a spider which allow me to sense the vibrations through my new limbs. (Touch could not be felt through the bone. I don't know how spiders do this on a scientific level, If you do know then feel free to tell me.)
I stand and stretch my new limbs as I feel John's approach.
"Hey, Jacob how are you..." Once through the tent flap, he freezes as he stares at my new centipede-like appendages.
I put on a forced smile as I wrap them around my stomach and chest. "What? you've never seen a freak before? Although the book says I am a Xeno." I pull my shirt over my head.
"Well..um...What? You're not human?" John eloquently asks.
"Nope. never have been." I pull on my jacket.
"...and the scares?" John asks in slight concern after seemingly finding his trail of though again.
" well, I can give some free life advice on that."
"Ok?"
"Don't try kinky stuff with a porcupine. They do not take kindly to it." I flash a smile as I put on my trench coat, which successfully hides the new limbs from sight.
"What?!"
"It was a dark and lonely day ." I shake my head slowly. "Away way be a dear and give this back to the merchant duo." I chuck him the book. "I've got shit to do and people to annoy, so see ya." With that, I leave the tent and begin to walk around the camp.

The rest of my time in the camp was boring and I soon found myself on the way to Arch city.
With nothing to do on said journey, I began to look through the space ring of ‘Mr sparkle’ and began to sort the stored items into categories. Weapons, useful items that I could use, Survival, money, and objects I can sell. The following items are as follows.
Weapons:
A broadsword
A small dagger
A large war hammer
Useful items I can use:
38 monster crystals
52 beast cores
A map of the planes and the green leaf forest
A higher-quality flame gem
Survival:
30 days worth of food and water
Two spare sets of clothes
A camping tent with a sleeping bag
Money:
6G
75S
32C
Objects I can sell:
My old space ring
A magic book that I can't use [Appears to be the light magic he used]
A proposal ring [Feel a little bad now]
Some animal and beast pelts
The first thing I do with my new loot is, break apart the weapons into smaller pieces and absorb them into my body to acquire the minerals to strengthen my body. I then proceeded to inspect the higher quality flame gem. But I was disappointed when I discovered that I could not use it. It seems that a person needs to be able to supply the gem with magic for it to produce a flame. [It appears that I can only use the lower quality elemental gems which produce smaller effects but don't need magic to work. Come to think of it I won't be able to use the shield gem I acquired before I entered the forest. I may as well sell them both.] Mentally moving both gems to the objects I can sell pile, I then begin to memorize the map before moving it to the sell pile.
Objects I can sell:
My old space ring
A magic book that I can't use
A proposal ring
Some animal and beast pelts
Map
Higher quality flame gem
Shield gem
These Items should give me some good revenue which I can use to augment my body, by improving my claw’s fire alloy, air pistons, etc.
Now that I have finished sorting the loot I begin to become bored once again so I focus on the hidden passenger who I believe to be a stowaway. Their mind feels familiar to me which is confusing considering I have killed and eaten most of the people I have met. Going deeper into the carriage I am sat in, I walk over to a crate where I believe the person to be. The person also appears to be bored and uncomfortable sitting inside of the crate so I give it a knock to get their attention.

“Hello there, you are properly as bored as I am so you want to come out and perhaps we can make this more interesting.”
The stowaway feels fear but does not move.
“Alright then suit yourself.”
[How boring, may as well leave him/her to it. They may be interesting in the future.]
With nothing better to do, I went back to my spot and sit down. When our journey started I decided to go into one of the empty carriages away from everyone else in case I needed to do some experimenting so I was alone in this storage carriage. But now that I had improved my strength, speed, reflexes, and senses as well as having gone through ‘Mr sparkles’ space ring I was now bored.
With my free time I improved Shade's body as best I could without getting in the way of her growing process. While I was improving Shade a small insect resembling a fly started to buzz around my head. In my annoyance, I caught it in my spare hand but before I kill it, I have an idea.
Taking inspiration from the mosquito from Paul's world I begin to reform and change the small insect. I dedicate most of the body to high reactions and speed while covering it with fine hairs that can detect changes in the air. This should increase its survivability while delivering its special package. I have given the now mutated fly/mosquito the same strain of the virus that I gave ‘patient zero’ and with its long needle-like mouth it should be able to deliver the virus with relative ease.
The plan is to release the virus once I become an adventure in the city. With me being able to easily deal with the virus I will be able to cure people infected people who will cause chaos and panic. With my non-lethal solution, I should be given easy quests and missions to deal with the infected allowing me to progress in the adventurer ranks quickly in a short amount of time.
Becoming an adventurer is the best cause of action for me. it will allow us to have access to their information network, letting me know where the most powerful creatures are. Being an adventurer will also allow me to get paid while I travel and become stronger.
Rising in rank will allow me to do harder missions which aline with my goals. The harder missions will put me in interesting and new habitats which will allow me to explore the world. The harder missions will also allow me to become stronger as I fight and discover new techniques and abilities. All of which will allow me to destroy the church easier and have fun while doing it, two dragons with one boulder and all that.
But before any of that, I want to make some money by selling the shit I don't need so I can augment my body. I then want to find and destroy anyone related to the slavers, possibly even find Dave and/or like-minded people to destroy the church. Once all that is done I will become an adventurer and rise up the ranks.
The adventure rankings are fairly simple (I hope). They are as follows from highest to lowest:
Diamond
Gold
Silver
S+
S
S-
A+
A
A-
B+
B
B-
C+
C
C-
The letters go to F- with the + and - for each letter (Could not be asked to do all that). Each letter is a rank while a + and - is a sub-rank. An adventurer needs to complete 8 missions before they can go up a sub-level. Once an adventurer has completed 24 missions they have to challenge a person from an above ranking to a dual where they need to tie or win the fight to raise in rank.
Missions from the rank below count as 1 Mission. Missions from an adventurers rank counts as 2. While a mission from the above ranking counts as 3. An adventurer can only take a mission one rank above their own. (Let me know if this is confusing and I will try to explain it better or change it.)
With the favor of the two merchants, the Grey beak tribe and the stoneheart noble family, I have been informed that I should be put up to the C- rank when I join. They have given me tokens to prove their favor. Sadly or luckily no Noble family or tribe can influence the Adventurers guild to a high degree so C- is the highest anyone can fast track too.
Being at the C- rank I will only have to do 8 missions of the B rank until I have to challenge a B rank to raise my own rank. This should not take too long with my strength and the virus.
Before my mind can drift anymore The carriage driver yells back at me “Willbreaker, we have reached Arch city get ready!”
[Finally, the real fun can begin.]

The life of a teenage hellworlder
We've all heard of the trope that Earth is a deadly planet by galactic standard; and has thus honed humanity into a ruthless species bent on surviving at all costs. As it turns out, that trope is true. Sapient species that evolve on safe planets develop to be peaceful and compassionate - and the ones that do on dangerous ones become violent and selfish out of need - usually wiping themselves out. But obviously, not every violent species drives itself to extinction - resulting in them being feared and ostracized - including humans. The life of a teenage hellworlder is a sci-fi slice of life story that revolves mainly around Thomas, a sixteen-year-old New Britannian attending a Xeno high school, who befriends a lonely apex predator named Javqua. Getting written by two amateur teen writers, things may sometimes be inconsistent or be confusing - feel free to comment and point out these problems. Gore, profanity, and traumatizing content tags are only for minor events in the story and do not happen often. Chapters are around 1k - 2k words - pretty short, but that's because we're all busy with our own lives and school. Trust us - we would gladly upload 5k word chapters if we could. We tend to upload new chapters every Saturday or Sunday. Please consider supporting us on Patreon!
