《Jacob WillBreaker》Chapter 24 Beasts

I decide not to go too deep into the forest as I doubt I could fight the more powerful beasts and monsters at the moment. Even if I could defeat such strong foes there would be little point as they get most of their strength and power from magic, something I can’t copy or adapt to benefit myself as of yet. So I decided to only go deep enough in the forest where the beasts and monsters could still be dangerous but manageable. But as I have not been to the forest before I had to guess to only go in another 3 miles.
As I walk deeper into the forest I practice using echolocation, but I notice a major flaw, that I have not thought of. I could only see in the direction I was facing as that was where the sound waves were coming from. To reduce this weakness I make small holes on my neck above my vocal cords so the sound waves could be produced from multiple angles giving me a better view of my surroundings.
I then cover the holes with flaps of skin and muscle that pull back to reveal the holes when I contract my vocal cords to produce the ultrasonic sound waves. By the end of my modification, I could see a 3D image of a 3-meter radius with a 10-meter cone shape in the direction I was facing. [Not perfect but definitely an improvement.].
Suddenly I stop as I smell something familiar yet different, I stick my tongue out to smell better. A wolf? [but only one? They hunt in packs, so a scout would make sense. Which means it will most likely be agile and fast.]
The smell gets stronger so I assume it has smelt me and is approaching. With a smile on my face, I look towards the approaching smell and send out repeated ultrasonic sound waves hoping to catch a glimpse of the creature before it was upon me.
Eventually I ‘see’ the creature. My initial assessment was correct It looked like a wolf but it was at least 4 times bigger than a regular verant. It stopped running towards me to howl before it burst through the bushes, gaping maw first.
Sidestepping to the right I twist my body to grab a fist full of its fur with my right hand. My left hand quickly grabs the other side of its head as I send my poised tail through its eye, sending lots of venom into its skull. Before it dies it swipes at me and I feel the power behind the attack as it sends me sliding back. I grin.

Growling the wolf charges at me again but this time it is slower due to the effects of the neurotoxin causing through its body. Jumping to the left I secrete my claws with acid as I slash its side.
Its fur is thick and strong like iron wire but I cut through it, leaving deep gashes in its flesh. The gashes widen over time as the acid burns and melts its flesh like burrowing magots. As the wolf passes me it falls to the floor as it dies to the venom.
[I don't think it would be smart to fight a pack of them head-on no matter how much I want to. The howl was properly calling for its friends so it is probably best to prepare now as I don't have much time.]
My preparations consist of making a hair rope and tying it at the wolf's knee level in a circle around me through the trees. I also absorb the dead wolf to gain some of its strength, sadly the stronger hair was due to a magically enhanced strength that I can not absorb or replicate.
I did notice a small magical core in its chest which I took and stored in my space ring [could be useful]. Another focus point of the corpse is the magical gland in its throat which indicates a magical noise base attack, so that will be fun. To deal with the potential sound attack I lower my hearing to a minute level, this, however, means I can't use echolocation. The last of my preparations was to gather all the sticks, leaves and bush at my back ready to ignite to prevent the wolves from flanking me. With my meager preparations complete I wait as the smell of more wolves become stronger.
When the wolves are 15 seconds away I light the fire with the heat from my claws and bring out fluffy in the form of a spear. Laughing in anticipation I tilt my head to the left and hit the back of it.
Five wolves change in and trip on the hair rope. Acting quickly I stab two through the eye with fluffy and two with my tail but the last of the five stands up in time and rushes at me mouth open. I thrust fluffy into the roof of the mouth and into the brain, I then back up so my back is to the fire and take a look around.
There are 9 wolves outside of my circle looking at me with caution in their eyes, One of the wolves was bigger than the others with a darker coat of fur [This is probably the Alpha of the pack.] The Alpha raises its head and begins to howl, the other wolves follow immediately [I think, because I can’t actually hear anything.]

I may not be able to hear it but I can feel the vibrations going through my body, so it must be fucking loud. With all the wolves howling and not looking at me, I rush them and stab one through the neck and the other through the chest with fluffy and my tail. My tail does not piece deeply but I send a lot of Hemotoxic venom around the heart area so it should die soon. [8 down 7 to go.]
The wolves notice their comrade's deaths and surround me before I can retreat [Shit I got in too deep. I shouldn't get cocky like that.] The wolves attack me in pairs, one from each side of the encirclement, making it hard to defend against their snapping jaws and sharp claws. Each time they attack I leave at least one with a gash from my claws but my scales are broken or breaking due to the onslaught. Each time I move to attack a single target, the whole circle moves to keep me in the middle.
[You fucking pieces of shit, why won't you let me kill you?] In a fit of anger, I accidentally activate the air gems that are still inside my body causing a build-up of air pressure in my arm. [ Air pressure. I could use air pressure generated from the gems and my lungs to make an air pressure pistons in my legs giving me a boost in speed.]
I created the air pistons in my legs and reformed my broken body, while not healing it still puts me in a better situation for the upcoming fight. By the time I do this most of the wolves were acting weird. They were tripping over themselves, snapping at each other and growling at nothing. This was the effects of the hallucinogenic poison armor. If it wasn't for the constant orders and howling from the alpha I am sure that would have completely left me alone. [Great, now it's time for some payback.]
I use my muscles and air pistons in my legs to propel myself towards the nearest wolf and stab it in the ribs with fluffy [It would have gone further if not for the iron fur, I should hit them with pure impact.] I change fluffy to a war hammer as I attack the other wolves. 9 down 6 to go]
The poison has destroyed their coordination by this point, but it has made them more vicious than before as they attack me with self-abandon. [Now this is more like it!] all the wolves rush me including the alpha. Using the air pistons I change direction randomly as I strike the wolves with fluffy in the shape of a war hammer. Each strike sends the wolves sliding back as they yelp in pain. I specifically target their knees and necks to cause the most damage and incapacitate them. I tried several times to control their body’s but their body’s pushback while they are alive with magic and aura, but I still manage to destroy some cells and cause a fewblood clots.
I manage to kill another 3 wolves when the alpha catches me by surprise and bites deeply into my shoulder “Haha bring it bitch” my blood starts to seep down the alpha's throat as the other two wolves bite on to my body and begin to pull me in different directions. "Hahaha Come on! is this all you got?!"
I control my blood in the alpha's mouth to drill through the side of its throat, then to form into a pipe as I send acid down into its internal organs. I also drill into the roof of the alpha's mouth where there are many blood vessels (The oral cavity is innervated by cranial nerves. Arteries and veins allow for adequate blood flow) and send in Hemotoxic venom.
Alpha yelps and jumps back further rigging my shoulder in the process which I don't have time to fix currently. I then copy the process to the other wolves biting on to me, they all have the same reaction as they let go and back away from me. For the second time this battle I reform my body as I rush the wolves. I am exhausted and I doubt I can keep going for much longer let alone control any biological matter, but the wolves are worse off with acid melting their organs and Hemotoxic venom running through their veins. It was not long before they fall over and die.
[Now that was fun, shame I can barely move now, those air pistons have completely fucked my legs and I used up a lot of nutrients in that fight.]
After I eat half the wolves and absorb the other rest I feel a lot better as I put the extra 14 beast cores into my space ring, the alpha's was the biggest. Stretching I start to walk until a giant plant burst out from the ground and swallows me whole. [Well if you wanted me inside of you that bad you could have just asked.]

Necromancer and Co.
In a time before the existence of the present, the gods decided to create a plane of existence where all their creations could exist in the same place. In it, all would be fair, and all gaps between races and technological advancements could be crossed with a single system that the gods had created. Every year, the gods would choose a new race to put in their land, and in this new group of beautifully unlucky people, Alen, his friends, and a few people from Earth have finally met their turn to be tossed into the playground of the gods. Unfortunately though, Alen was thrust into a forest of corpse-eating bears and horribly smelly undead on his first day, one of the many danger-zones of the continent the gods had chosen to throw them in. It would be easy to say that he simply died within the first day, or that he'd starved to death or whatever, but let's be honest... That story would be no fun to tell, yes? (Re-write of my first fiction with the same name.)
