"Edward! Edward!", Edward heard a voice calling him repeatedly.

"Edward! Wake up!", the voice called once again.

Edward's eyes finally opened. He slowly raised his head and got up.

"Robert! It's you! What's going on?", Edward asked with a confused face.

"Are you not completely awake yet? You must've felt asleep while cultivating. What happened? It's not like you to fall asleep during cultivation.", Robert said.

This time, Edward's mind finally settled down, and he suddenly remembered everything.

"What day is today? Are we late for the tournament selections?", he asked.

"No. We're supposed to leave today. That's why I came to find you. When I couldn't find you in the room, I came to find you here. but you were in deep slumber. Even when you woke up, you looked like you were somewhat lost. What's going on?"

"Nothing. I just came up with something new while cultivating.", While Edward said that, he checked his body. Something seemed different about him. He then focused his mind to check on his soul. There, he could see his soul, shining brighter than ever, and around the Soul Core, there was now a Soul-Spirit. It was different from any other soul-spirit. It was formless, shapeless, colorless, snd stateless. It was just there, covering his soul core.

As for his cultivation, it has taken a huge leap. Unbelievably, with his new approach to Qi Cultivation as well as the creation of his soul-spirit, he has been pushed to the Energy Foundation Realm. He was now, although unbelievable, in the Second Level of Energy Foundation Realm. As he focused on his Qi, he could feel an incredible power coursing through his body. The nature of this power was indescribable. This was the 'Formless' he created.

"So? How did your cultivation go, Robert?", Edward Asked.

"Very Good! My Qi has merged with life energy, and I'm now at the Seventh Level of the Qi Accumulation Realm This is by far the greatest boost in cultivation I've managed to get in a single session.", Robert said with a satisfied smile.

"That's good. You are not going to get a chance for such a boost again anytime soon. Merging your Qi with life energy was a one-time thing. From here on, you just have to slowly progress. Although, you could keep up the fast pace for your cultivation if you manage to comprehend and cultivate an element. You were going to cultivate the metal element, weren't you? Any luck with that?"

"No, Not yet. More importantly, what about you? Aren't you the one who needs to cultivate an element more than me? You were stuck at the Seventh Level of the Qi Accumulation Realm, you know?", Robert pointed out.

"Well, let me show you something then.", Edward released an intense outburst of Qi as he said that. The entire area started shaking due to the intensity of his Qi.

"Such fierce Qi! Don't tell me...", Robert gasped in shock.

"Yes. You've guessed correctly. I've stepped into the Energy Foundation Realm.", Edward confirmed Robert's guess.

"Unbelievable! So what element did you manage to master? Fire? Water? Or is it something else?", Robert was shocked and curious at the same time.

"None.", Edward replied.

"None? Then how did you breakthrough?"

"Instead of comprehending and cultivating an element of nature, I created one myself.", Edward said with a smile.

"What? How? What do you mean you created an element?", Robert had a feeling that Edward just went ahead and did something out of the world.

His suspicion wasn't wrong. Edward walked a few steps ahead and told Robert to stand behind him.

"Watch me.", said Edward as he released his Qi.

Suddenly, Edwards Qi scattered around his body, turning into some formless, stateless substance. On the next stance, some of that formless Qi attached to Edward's back and turned into a pair of giant wings.

Edward flapped his giant wings to soar to the sky. In the blink of an eye, he was 10,000 feet above the ground.

"That's...that's crazy! Tha's insane! What is this! You can fly! Unbelievable! I thought you said only cultivators in the Dao Communication Realm or higher could fly!", Robert shouted in shock.

"Yes. But I can fly using a different method. My formless element Qi can achieve any form, shape, and state. I turned some of my Qi into wings to fly. But that's not all. Keep watching.", Edward kept flapping his wind as he said that.

Suddenly, an intense amount of Qi was released from Edward and gathered behind him. The Qi behind him started to take the form of something.

"Robert! come and stand right below where I am or you might get flattened.", Edward warned in a loud voice. He was so high that his voice could barely be heard, but Robert, with his high cultivation and sharp ears, managed to hear him in time.

As soon as Robert heard Edward's warning, he ran below Edward and braced himself. By this time, the Qi Edward released had finished reforming. It had scattered and turned into hundreds of fist-sized pieces of solid rocks.

"Meteor Shower!", Edward shouted as the rocks behind him, which were made of his formless Qi, started raining down on the mountain in front of him.

"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!", the rocks kept hitting the mountain like meteors. In a matter of moments, the mountain was flattened as it crumbled apart, and all that was left there was hundreds of craters full of rocks.

After a while, the Rocks reformed as they turned into gaseous Qi and returned to Edward. Edward absorbed them back, although the amount Qi that returned to him was less than the amount he sent raining down like meteors, the gap wasn't too great, considering the amount of damage he had done. It was incredible. Flattening an entire mountain yet only wasting a little bit of Qi. On top of that, he didn't need to attack by himself. All he did was float in the sky and watch.

Robert was standing below Edward with his mouth wide open. His mouth was so wide that a bird could mistake it as its nest.

As Edward slowly came down from the sky, Robert kept staring at him with a wide mouth, gasping for breath.

"What was that?"

"This is the power of 'Formless', the new element I've created. It can achieve any form, shape, or state.", said Edward. Let me show you more.

Just as Edward said that a sword appeared in his hand out of thin air.

"How? How did it appear out of nowhere?", Robert asked.

"It didn't. It is a sword made of my Qi.", Edward said.

"But...But it looks exactly like an actual sword. There is no sign that makes you think it is made of Qi."

"That's where formless is. Not only can it achieve any shape or form, but it can also achieve the sense of touch or even the smell and taste of that form. For example, if I made a cotton candy out of my Qi, it will look, smell and taste exactly like cotton candy, except the fact that it isn't cotton candy and just Qi. But that QI that has turned into cotton candy isn't Qi anymore unless I revert it back It would even be edible if I don't revert it back to Qi."

"That's...That's unbelievable! Well, I guess only someone like you could pull something like that off.", Robert finally calmed down. Knowing Edward, he knew that anything was possible for him.

"I had to. I didn't have a soul-spirit, and thus I couldn't connect with any element of nature. So I had to make one which can recreate my soul spirit. So, I came up with the idea of 'formless Qi', Qi that can become anything. When you look deep enough, you find out that matter is actually energy and vice versa. Qi is also pure energy, so all I had to do is find a way to turn my QI into matter, regardless of the form and state. I do this by changing the nature, arrangement, and wavelength of my Qi.", Edward explained.

"You were always brilliant. I have nothing to say. I can only say that I'm mindblown and speechless.", Robert commented.

"Well, anyway. Let's return to the academy. Everyone must be waiting for us.", Robert said.

"Who else is going with us.', Edward asked.

"Only the principal. This is for the sake of convenience. Bringing along too many people would be a hassle.", Robert said.

"Yeah. You're right. Let's go!", Edward said as he carried Robert and started to fly at an incredible speed.

"Wait....", before Robert could speak, they were already in front of the academy. Old Summer was standing in front of the academy entrance. As he saw Edward flying down from the sky carrying Robert, his jaw dropped to the ground.

"Oh well. It seems I've got one more person to do the explaining to.", Edward said with a sigh. Explaining things like this was always so bothersome.
