《The Farmer》Chapter 10

A few more days have passed since his encounter with the rock-creature. He goes to the forest to hunt, enough for the wolves to be fed. Before going back to the farm, he watches the creature go about its routine in the forest. It doesn’t do much but it’s enough to satisfy his curiosity. Why does it roam around and carries rocks and places it all over the forest? Just one of the questions that he never got the answer to despite observing it for quite some time.
Upon returning to the farm, the wolves started howling. He looks at the distance and saw adventurers. There were three of them, but he couldn’t see them clearly from a far. He saw them enter the forest. Excited as he was when he first met them, he went and follows them inside. Making sure that he is not seen he keeps his distance and observes them from a far. Agta and Atga are still with him but he didn’t worry since he thinks that they are more capable than he is.
The adventurers went beyond the stream and over to where the rock-creature roams. Since it has already returned to the cave, they only found the rocks that it scatters around the forest.
“Found it”. One of the adventurers shouted to his companions.
He is wearing a dark cloak over his hunter green sleeves. He is wearing gloves and attach to his side are two thrusting knives. The other two walk towards him upon calling them.
“There must be a cave nearby, golems don’t wander too far”. He added.
They too remain silent while the other one is still looking on the ground as if he’s tracking it. He then stood up and signals the two to follow him and they did. They stumble upon the cave and a small break of wind howls inside the cave. The only female in the group lifts her right hand and places it palms down above the staff. Her lips move as if she is saying something, but he couldn’t hear it from the distance. She then lifts her right hand and a fire encircles it. Then they walk towards the cave with the girl with the flaming hand leading the way.

Bob almost shouted because of what he saw but he is able to hold his excitement. She didn’t look hurt at all, he thought. He wanted to follow them inside the cave but without light himself something unfortunate might happen to him.
He decided to wait for them to get out. He doesn’t know what those three are planning but it must concern the rock-creature dwelling inside the cave. Leaving Agta alone near the cave while staying completely hidden he went a bit further and practices his bow.
Atga sits by his side and lies down while he shoots the arrows at a tree much farther than he is used to.
‘Point blank range is not going to help me in the long run’. He thought to himself while he practices
After a short while Atga stood up as if she was woken up, then Agta came running to him. Bob figures that the adventurers have already returned from the cave. He rushed back while still being as stealthy as he could to observe them. They are already in the river washing their face.
The girl is wearing a black coat with red lining as well as elbow length fingerless sleeves. She is also wearing a circlet and what appears to be an old jade necklace. The other one is wearing sleeveless top, showing off his well-built body. A short sword dangles on his waist into the water as he reaches out to drink from the river.
“It says here that we could use it to make a level 10 familiar.” The skinny guy holds out a red sphere with his left hand and it’s as if he is reading something etched on it. It looks similar to the crystal that Bob sees from the golem.
“How much do you think it will sell?” the girl asks as she walks over to also look at the sphere.

“It doesn’t say, we’ll need to go back and find out.” He then puts the sphere away in his inventory.
Still observing from a distance, Bob’s eyes widened as he saw the adventurer using his inventory. With such excitement he holds his breath to contain it and couldn’t bear to hide anymore. He steps out of the bush and walk towards the adventurers on the other side of the river. The wolves didn’t come with him and decided to stay by the bush.
As he is getting closer to the river, he got nervous. How should I talk to them? What should I say? Would they think I’m weird approaching them?
Standing on the other side and still thinking on what to say, the adventurers didn’t seem to notice him. They were busy with things that are laid out on the ground that they probably obtained inside the cave. He then decided to say the only thing that comes to his mind whenever and adventurer talks to him.
“Hello adventurers.” He said with a bright face.
The buff guy saw him and calls out to the others. They stare at him and Bob’s smiling face becomes uncomfortable because of the silence.
“There’s someone here?” The skinny guy waves his index finger in front of him. The others walk up to him and stared at something in front of them.
Bob began to be nervous, but he didn’t want to remove the smile from his face. His thoughts become more and more hazy. Did I say it right? Was it my tone? Do I have something on my face? What if there’s something on my face? It would be embarrassing to remove it now. But it would be more embarrassing if didn’t remove it now. Cold sweat now runs on his back while figuring out what to do.
While occupied to his thoughts the adventurers are still looking intensely in the air. In Bob’s eyes all he could see are the adventurers staring, swiping and poking the air in front of them.
“Rover’s End…that’s the name of the place.”
