《Asd: A Werelion's Journey To Arcane Supremacy》Studying And A Slice Of Heaven
Advertisement
Asd was happily burning the midnight oil to study, there wasn't much he could do about the Draconic Runes as no matter how hard he tried to memorize more of them, his mind just seemed incapable of holding onto any of them. And he was still trying to draw the spell module for the fire spell Spark. At the moment he was 35% done, and it was getting harder, as while the runes weren't all that complicated, Mama is what was really used to draw them, and his control was really shaky and weak. So he was taking a break and doing the next best thing….. studying.
Asd was lucky, when he was born his parents were aged. His father was at the time the last Werelion and he was bred with a lifeblood white Were tiger to preserve his Feline genes. Asd wasn't the only one born, he had a sister and a brother, but unlike him they both took after their mother and were Weretigers, while he was the only Werelion. His mother and siblings were sent away and he was left to grow up at the feet of a father who had so much anger and rage for the world he lived in; for the world he had brought his child into.
Lions weren't the stellar example of parenthood, but slavery could change millions of years not evolutionary characteristics. Asd grew up loved and well cared for. And his father sacrificed all fingers and toes in his right hand and left leg to give his son an education. Asd could read and right, and do arithmetic and even had a little bit of knowledge into geography and basic alchemy. He could remember the song look on his father's face when it was discovered and Add couldn't be killed or punished like his father.
The seven year old Asd was even more intelligent than the first born son of Lord Ramses and both boys were born just two weeks apart with Asd coming second. This whole democracy stuff that some of the aristocrats back in the empire were lobbying for had made it impossible for lords to hurt their slaves wantonly, especially when said slave was educated. So he needed up being the personal space to the Baron's children.

Magic or not, being in this academy meant he had a chance for more education. He could still learn more, and while his focus would be strictly on magic, there was still so much more the world has to offer to him. But at the moment he was understanding the theory behind the 7 circle meditation method. To strengthen your mana you have to train it by constantly casting spells and guiding it with control. A spell can be too weak or too powerful depending on how much Mana you can put into it. The process of doing that would strengthen your mana. But power and control fall short of amount.
A mage with more Mana, even with abysmal control would have an edge, assuming they can keep themselves alive long enough. Heck with more Mana you can overdraft a spell and if you're lucky to not get blown to bite when said spell implodes in itself. You could make a spell more powerful than your current level of power and control could muster. And to do that, you need a larger pool than most.
Asd had abysmal control, and while he can train his control to an acceptable level. He would probably be lagging behind other students. So he would focus on his strong points, his mana strength and attunement and size. Which is affected by those two stats. But the current mana he has will not increase if he doesn't have the seven phase visualization to create his unique meditation method that would help absorb and increase the man's in his body at a faster rate.
His studies shows that the 7 phase visualization is born from the 7 0 circle spells you get as a movie mage before advancing to first circle. Those seven spells would serve as the foundation for future spells. If you have 4 fire spells, then at the higher circle you can only have 4 fire spells, and no other element would be able to take that spot.
Asd had three elements, and all of his elements were mutations. He has not been able to learn about that, but that was because he wanted to take things slow. The slots would be filled if he gave each element two slots to fill six of the 7 0 circle spells. But another matter is the spells must somehow match his mutations or he would not be able to maximize the benefits of his elements. And as for the seventh slot, he was going to give it to another elements than his primes. Maybe water or light element. Or he could go all the way and choose dark or Rune.

Be that as it may, it would be a bridge he would cross when he gets there, but for now he should probably sleep. Tomorrow was going to be another grind, there would be more to learn from Professor Hogrin and he would have to put up with that vampire again. The path to power was really filled with annoying shit.
*Knock! Knock!*
Asd was startled, he was lucky in the attic of the boys dorm, and he was pretty sure every other male in this dorm hates his guts. Most of them were nobles with a few being commoners, but ultimately none of them were of rather used to be slaves. So who could possibly be knocking on his door at 11:33 pm at night. Asd wasn't sure, but he wouldn't get his answers sitting on his ass.
"Harris?" he knew that voice! He couldn't stop himself as he rushed forwards and opened the door. There was no one there but her, and as she fell into his arms, he closed the door behind her in one smooth flourish and wrapped his hands around her waist to twirl her around the room that was larger than it needed to be.
She giggled, making his stomach turn upside down as she wrapped her hands around his neck and pulled herself up to his lips. The world exploded, it was passion and magic and rage all at once as his body shuddered from the softness of her lips. He was no longer bound, his the self was unleashed and every ability afforded to him by his bloodline was at forefront. He could feel her, he could, taste her and he could hear her heart beating just as fast as his could.
He kissed her deeper, smiling as she let our a deep chuckle at his enthusiasm. He was fighting for a chance to be more powerful, to not have to leave the rest of his life as some rare specimen. But above all else, he was doing this for her. Because without power here was no way Asd and Rhea could be together. The scandal alone would probably be hounds for her father to have him killed for defaming the name of a noble. But he couldn't stop, he loved her, he wanted her; Asd growled out his desire as he told deeper breaths.
She felt it, she could feel the bulge pushing against her stomach; she was noble not a nun or a priestess. She was very familiar with that part of man's body. She loved that he desired her, it made her stomach knot and her toes curl in anticipation. But now was not the time, not yet, but soon enough…heck tomorrow. But before that, maybe she should give him a little preview.
Asd felt her escape from his hands, and for a moment he felt as if she was angry or he had taken it too far. But like the tavern wenches he has heard so much about she went down on her meds with a smile on her face, making sure to take his simple woolen trousers with her and exposing that majesty of a lion he has restrained and kept hidden for all of his seventeen years of life. His eyes widened as she smiled and took the plunge, burying him whole in her mouth as Asd for the first time ever….. had a slice of heaven.

The Legion of Nothing
Nick Klein is your average high school geek--if you can still count as average when your grandfather is a retired superhero, and you've been trained in the martial arts by his friend, a mysterious, immortal mercenary. After his grandfather dies, Nick inherits the last version of the Rocket suit, powered armor that allows him to shrug off bullets, smash through walls, and manipulate sound. Along with it comes the base of his grandfather's superhero team including the team's jet and trophies from forty years of fighting criminals and aliens. Together, Nick and his friends, descendants of his grandfather's teammates, attempt to bring back a superhero team that was originally formed during World War 2. Along the way they'll face the normal problems of high school (bullies, homework, and dating), and the less normal problems like supervillians and mysteries leftover from their grandparents' past. As a story, it uses the conventions of all eras of comics from the 1940s on, ranging from serious to silly. If you're hoping for a grim and gritty story, this isn't it. The Legion of Nothing first debuted on my website legionofnothing.com in 2007. In that period it's updated more than 900 times, is still running, and has had millions of pageviews. The first two years have been released as an ebook, receiving good reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. I hope you'll enjoy it, and that you'll review it and comment.
