《The apocalypse happened and it was named- The system’s advent》Chapter 10- Visions

He could only shrug and giver her his best guess. Due to the sheer size of it and amount of material used two handed weapons were inherently stronger because of both damage and possible number of enchantments. He could only sigh and think that some were simply chosen by heaven, not that he was any better. On that note he couldn’t help thinking about the only class of weapon that trumped two handed and that was the ultra class, also known as behemoth weapons. But those simply couldn’t be found and had to be made. Technically anyone could wield them with a high enough strength but there was a difference between picking up a sword and training with it.
Suddenly he was hit with a wave of dread that made his hair stand on end. It was so sudden he threw out his senses as far as they would go in a panic looking for the source but there was nothing there. Everything was completely normal and anyways there shouldn’t be anything that could truly harm him yet but the feeling didn’t fade, it only got stronger the more he thought about the ultra weapon series. It felt like a cat of epic proportions was clawing at his mind trying to get in. He was covered in sweat and shaking like a leaf on a tree, then Nina saw him and was instantly in battle mode. Within seconds the pain brought him to his knees and the last thing he saw was Nina’s panic stricken face before darkness claimed him.
He woke up floating in a vast star scape with only the void for company. The more he looked around the more he realized that what he was seeing was a galactic war. Streaks of light zipped here and there like they were fleeing. What could make a being capable of fighting a war in vacuum with just their body run. As soon as that thought surfaced he felt himself being pulled by something he couldn’t see until finally he came to a planet that looked alot like earth. The continents were different shapes and there were vibrant red clouds all around the planet.
The water seemed normal but then he saw specks moving slowly all over the planet, somehow he knew they were living beings. He felt cold sweat on his back as the thought of fighting something so huge it was capable of being seen from the atmosphere. He could tell that at the very least this world was hundreds of times the size of earth and he could still see the dots moving around. He felt himself being pulled again but this time was right down to the planet. Sounds of battle and screams were ringing in his ears long before he could see the fighting. Finally he could see them and could hardly believe his eyes. Everywhere he looked there were humans fighting monsters ranging from no bigger than an average person to dozens of stories tall.
The humans were all wielding weapons that freely shifted from guns as big as them to blades that were even bigger. The sheer strength, agility, and physical toughness they displayed was no weaker than the average tier five warrior with some even at tier six or seven. Then he saw what he would consider as the elites fighting against monsters that could only be described as humanoid dragon. They about three stories tall, stood on two legs, and were covered in razor sharp armor plating with reptilian facial features. His eyes couldn’t even keep track of their movements or see what was happening. He sucked in a cold breath as he realized that they were at least equal to tier nine fighter. And that dragon was fighting four of them at once.

It was steadily losing but only because their teamwork was nothing short of flawless. One on one it looked like it would be able to put a beatdown on anything short of an elite tier nine combatant. Suddenly one of the creatures he had seen from the atmosphere appeared and its body darkened the battlefield. Without a shred of hesitation the humans grabbed their injured and fled while the monsters scattered in every direction. The goliath sent down what looked like tendrils and started devouring the dead monsters. The voice of the system seemed to scream in his ears “Target world acquired, tier 2, class S, designation desolation battleground.
“Hyper monster evolution world chosen as the primary crucible planet for designation Tera. Probability of survival of locals is stagnant at 61%, Cooperation between locals raises probability to 93%. Unacceptable ratio, injecting reproduction acceleration gene into organism known as ‘Original Oracle Factor’ by locals during planetary fusion. Initiating protocol for evolution of human gene during planetary fusion. Survival balancing at 50%, acceptable parameters met.” During all this his eyes were locked on a dying boy and his weapon a short distance from himself. The boy was covered in black lines all over his skin and seemed to be turning into one of the creatures. His weapon that he mistook for metal earlier seemed to be half biological and now resembled and enormous mouth that was eating the nearby monster corpses.
With what seemed like the last of his will the boy took out a dagger and stabbed his own heart. There wasn’t any anger or hatred in his eyes but only resignation and disappointment. The black lines receded as the light faded from his eyes and his weapon reverted to its weapon form. Suddenly all the corpses began emitting a thin black smoke that gushed out of their bodies into the atmosphere. He was abruptly yanked hard and found himself back in his body. He looked around and saw he was in his bed again with Nina holding a rag on his forehead. “How long was I out?” Nina jumped and scolded not to scare her like that. “And only a day or so. What happened? You had everyone panicking when you suddenly collapsed like that.”
“Just a second and I should be able to tell you.” Status

*Planetary Foresight- This unique ability allows you to gain insight into the current path your world will take as a whole which allows you to prepare. Will be cast when the planets current fate changes, can only be used once per system phase, and will only be triggered when all conditions are met.
After reading about his new spell he couldn’t be more shocked. He had just changed the path earth was supposed to take. Due to his actions they would soon be engaged in a planetary war with no end in sight during the next phase and if what he saw was any indication then they were all fucked. For nearly an hour he laid there and thought hard on what he could do. The only thing he could think of was to become obscenely rich and essentially start buying the highest class of inventory for everyone so that when they were suddenly sent to that warzone of a planet they would all be decked out in supplies and gear for a good long time until they could link up with the locals and figure out what was going on.

There preparations for now would have to include war preparation as well but he would almost entirely have to shoulder the burden of buying several million inventories. He would have to let the shop know to stock up on them. Good god, did humans even have a number high enough to count how much gold he would need? This was there only option however. He quickly threw on a set of clothes and rushed to his dad's office. When he had told him everything his face was pale and waxy but his mouth was set in a determined line. “I’ll start preparations. Can you do it? That many inventories will be obscene but they might also be all that can save us.”
He didn’t answer and could only turn around as he bolted for the shop. He needed another 588 levels before he would be able to see the entrance of ‘Hero’ class dungeons which started at tier 4, then Legend at tier 5, Myth at tier 6, Godling at tier 7, Demigod at tier 8, and Ascension at tier 9. They were each completely undetectable until you reached their tiers because each and every one became a qualitative change in power. The first at tier four was the largest and most painful because it encompassed tier 0-3 into one. The more stats you have the farther they would be compressed and because of that it was almost unheard of for a tier 3 to beat a tier 4, the quality of their strength were just on different levels entirely.
All this time he had been cocky thinking that he was so far ahead of the rest that he was undefeatable on earth, that he was the only star in the sky. Now that he saw what was coming he was terrified. He had single handedly caused the earth's fate to change, probably for the worse. It was now his responsibility to bear the burden until the rest were strong enough to stand on their own. An endless series of thoughts ran through his head as he ran with all his might until he arrived at the shop. His concentration was fucked so his aura was completely running wild and everyone with emotions could tell exactly what he was feeling.
Pure and unrestrained fear, straight terror. The manager met him at the door and immediately they ran into her office. When they were in they both looked at him like they would an irate tiger. Until he said “A desolation world is coming.” Their complection drained of every ounce of blood and it was an effort not to start shaking. They were already past wanting to know how he knew this. He immediately spilled that he had somehow awoken a new skill called ‘Planets Fate’ and that it showed him a vision of the merging. The secretary fainted when she heard the vision. “A world of evil gods. We are so fucked. The reason you received the vision was that the system took into account that you were having the vision and would prepare the earth for the merging.
“Which is to say that even after you prepare the world will only have at best a 50/50 chance to survive. We have no time to waste. I will inform the other stores and we will do what we can. Do what you must. I never thought I’d say this to you but you need to get stronger faster. Accept this trade.” He accepted a trade and got the spell ‘Mana Clone’ in exchange for all his money. Every last coin but seeing the spells effects he could only nod with a grim face then left in the same rush he arrived. He headed straight for the nearest high tier dungeon where he told Nina to meet him.
On the way he repeatedly cast Mana Clone. The spell was a dangerous one that Summoned an infinite number of clones that were at roughly 75% his strength. They were self sufficient and don’t require regeneration to be sustained. All the experience they earned was gained by the main body but their death penalty was gained as well. If one died they all were automatically deducted with the death penalty. For him it was perfect and only took up 20 SP but it was as expensive as a hundred top class inventories and was never for sale.
They were all linked to him and could use all the same things he could so he sent some to get the mines and sent others to seek out rare resources to add to the grimoire, another was to train Nina and two more were sent to the other two high grade dungeons. Then he entered and started the slaughter like a mad man. He summoned the angel and sent it blasting through the dungeon trying to break it's own record for fastest clear. This dungeon was filled with earth elementals of various grades so it shouldn’t do to badly. After about a month he had thrown all the mines into his grimoire complete with the entire vein of ore and innumerable bunches of trees and plants from around the world.
There were also many that had already started to mutate from mana that he had added to his growing collection. Over all now his grimoire had the limit of density for a tier 2 plane and was rapidly expanding. His forests were all being managed by the monster family. And he also had belial training them so they could also prepare for what was to come. Belial new somehow what a desolation world was so he left it up to him to teach the kids and younger ones how to fight while the other adults focused on managing his expanding plane. The plants and ores were all mutating at an almost visible pace and some had even been recognized by the system.
He was by now at the seventh floor and had been holding off on leveling because he didn’t quite have enough for a Rebirth. That changed when the seventh floors boss fell. He was now ready to use cosmic rebirth and reset tier 3. So he dumped all his stats into his INT and started the rebirth. After three days he was now a tier three level 5
He immediately occupied 10 of his ‘minds’ to start mastering ice manipulation and another 10 to start trying get cosmic manipulation. He immediately blew threw the rest of the dungeon and exited. Immediately an enormous rush of experience from the other three dungeons slammed into him and rocketed his level back into the three thousand range. He could feel it wasn’t enough for a rebirth though so after he got his wind back he did it all over again. This time though it took until the eighth floor boss when he felt the barrier for rebirth. He dumped all his points into his INT again and felt the reservoir of mana inside him expand greatly. After that was done he used Rebirth and as soon as he woke up he called up his status page and dumped his 52 levels of points into his WIL and confirmed.

Now that his mana was over 10M he could invest fully into his WIL. He was now confident that he could grind for money and XP in Hero Dungeons in relative safety but first he needed to go to the shop and learn at least the first tier spells for all the spell schools so he could start to try and get the elemental manipulation spell from each tree. He felt within six months if he allotted ten ‘minds’ each he could get them all. He cleared the last boss and when he was teleported out he headed straight for the shop. He now had 7.5 Billion gold from his grinding so Gold shouldn’t be an issue but he only had 182 SP so he would have to deliberate carefully if he wanted any spells from his Cosmic spell tree for now.

8 423A Wish Beyond Chaos
Knights cultivate Laws to transcend mortality. They live for centuries, leading all of humanity while ceaselessly searching for the ultimate path. Mages study Runes to control creation itself. Their lives are short, but burn with unmatched radiance, leaving marks that may never fade. Roland Crescent consumes food to continue existing. Five years ago, at the tender age of nine, Roland suddenly stopped dreaming and instead started seeing the imminent deaths of those around him in nightly visions. Believing himself destined for greatness, he set out to become a righteous hero of justice. But as the years passed this young wannabe savior found that his duties brought him almost no discernible benefits, whereas new burdens kept piling onto his small shoulders without end. When a longtime plan’s failure ends up opening the path to several twisted opportunities, Roland might have to finally admit to himself that nobody of importance, much less fate itself, had any regards for his heroic inclinations. Slow paced, character focused story. Gets very dark at times. Basically like Lord of the Mysteries with more comedic aspects at the start. Chapters are released Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday. Average chapter length is about 4000 words, with only the first vision being noticeably shorter. Have fun reading.

8 202The Errant Otherworlder Watanabe
“In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death, taxes and trucks whom transport men to other worlds.” Meet our titular protagonist Haruto Watanabe, a man who has all the markings of a good protagonist for a generic portal fantasy story. As an overworked office worker, to escape from the grips of crippling capitalist alienation, he had taken up to reading many stories where young men like him were transported to other worlds and enjoyed their lives at a most leisurely pace. Armed with genre-awareness and (what he believes to be) a marketable personality which would make him an easy audience self-insert, he longed for the day the isekai express would take him to his long-awaited adventure to another world. When the fateful day came, where the fair yet harsh mistress that is the fabled truck took Watanabe on one last date to the other side, he was most ready to escape his previous life, ready to embark on an errant so great he’d be most overpowered, his heroics so exceptional and his harem so vast that they would barely fit ten or twenty volumes of an overly long novel made by a desperate author looking for quick cash. Lo and behold however, Watanabe instead found himself in a low fantasy world which lacked severely in the department of any game-like systems, cheat skills or easily charmed damsels in distress. In a setting so antithetical to his established genre savviness or any attempts at power fantasy, how will a man like Watanabe, lacking in strength, wits and courage, manage to survive in a land most foreign to him? This is my first time trying to share to the wider world what I’ve written, and I hope you’ll enjoy reading the errantry of Watanabe as much as I enjoy writing about them. I'll be posting one chapter per week on Sundays, along with extra chapters whenever I get the chance to write more than usual.
