What was the underworld?

Many people had a hellish view of the underworld. Thinking of it being some kind of hell. But, this wasn't the case.

The Underworld was roughly the same size as the Human world, but with a much larger landmass, as there were no oceans, just lakes.

The sky was originally purple during both the day and night, but the current Four Great Satans adjusted the flow of time to match it with the human world for the sake of the reincarnated devils. They reproduced an artificial moon using Demonic Powers and made the night's darkness the same with the human world.

The underworld was not only the territory of the devils. It also belonged to the Fallen Angels.

The part belonging to the devils was divided in different territory, each belonging to different noble devils families with the capital, Lucifaag in the center. Out of all those families. One particularly distinguished from the other.

It was the Gremory clan. Not only were they one of the richest clans in the underworld, but they also had Sirzechs lucifer, known as the strongest man in the underworld alongside his wife, Grayfia Lucifuge, one of three strongest women in the underworld.

The other two being the Satan Serafall Leviathan and the second ranked in the ratings game, Roygun Belphegor.

The Gremory Clan had a territory that was about the same area of Honshu in Japan. A very rich territory with developed industry. Located within the territory is the Gremory Palace, the home and main building of the Gremory Clan Head.

It was exactly in that building that an interesting event was happening.

Three people were currently present in the room used for important discussions.

Two grown men with similar scarlet hair. They were Zeoticus Gremory, leader of the Gremory Clan and his son Sirzechs Lucifer.

Currently, the atmosphere was rather heavy as they observed the third one, a very young white haired little girl who stood with a face void of all expression. Her golden eyes sparkling with no light, as if completely dead.

"Are you sure you want Rias to take care of this little girl?"

Zeoticus asked carefully. Frankly he had nothing against taking care of a girl with such pitiful circumstances. But, he wondered if it was wise to allow Rias to take care of her.

Sirzechs though, didn't seem worried,

"I convinced the other by saying that I wanted her as a future member of my sister's peerage. It was the only way I could intervene and saved her from her coming execution."

Zeoticus pinched his eyebrow.

'Why do those old bastards wish to kill a 9 year old for a crime she did not commit?'

He could only sigh at this before looking at the girl with a kind smile,

"Shirone Toujou. I hope that you'll please yourself here."

The girl, Shirone, didn't answer. As if she couldn't hear. But it was most likely that she simply didn't care about it.

Neither Sirzechs nor Zeoticus grew angry at her lack of reaction. In fact, their desire to protect her only grew stronger.

"Grayfia. Please take care of Shirone for the time being."

Grayfia, seemingly appearing out of nowhere, nodded and took Shirone before going out of the room.

Now alone, Zeoticus expression became heavier,

"What about her sister?"

Sirzechs clenched his fists before shaking his head,

"I could do nothing. In the end, Kuroka Toujou was classified as an SS rank stray devil. She is now one of the highest ranked criminals in all of the underworld."

A bitter taste spread in Sirzech's mouth as he said so. As long as you didn't wish to live as a tyrant, being powerful didn't mean that you could do everything you wanted.

As a leader, he couldn't be selfish. He had to forget his personal emotions and act in the best interest for his faction.

Currently, the devils as a whole were in a rather pitiful state. They had lost billions of their kin during the previous wars. They couldn't afford to have a civil war and further weaken themselves.

He decided to toss those thoughts aside, he had too many things to care about.

"It seems like Rias became more hardworking as of late?"

"Hahaha. Let me tell you what has happened."
