Later in the night, Azrael could be seen seated cross-legged in his room. In front of him, was a long black case. Looking at this case, a complicated feeling swelled up in his heart.
Apart from his name and his status in the church, the thing, in this case, was the first tangible thing his father ever gave him. It was on the occasion of his 12th years. Years and not birthdays because he never considered the day of his birth as something. When you thought about it, this present was somewhat ironic.
Still, even after two years, he neither opened it nor looked at what kind of weapon laid in it.
Despite that, he might have guessed what laid in it… most likely it was a holy sword.
Normal exorcists were equipped with many tools to help them battle against supernatural beings. Among the tools that Exorcists use are Light Swords, crosses, the Bible and Holy Water, as well as guns loaded with light bullets, which are harmful to devils.
Still, some exorcists were cut above the rest. Those exorcists with greater skills could be given more powerful weapons, allowing them to fight against stronger beings.
Those weapons were called True Holy Swords. True Holy swords are weapons of magic and alchemy forged by those who reached the territory of god. Nowadays, it was only possible to modify them. At least, he never heard of any holy sword being created in recent times.
Well, there were some exceptions. He knew a little girl who had a sacred gear that allowed her to create a multitude of Holy swords, but those swords were vastly inferior to the true Holy swords.
Sadly, reality was harsh, many exorcists wouldn’t receive a holy blade simply because of their skills. Sad as it may be, natural aptitude is also required. Something very few people had.

Xenovia was such a person. Her skills as an exorcist were still meager, but her talent was without a doubt. She was already chosen to be the successor of Vasco Strada and became the next wielder of the Holy Sword [DURANDAL].
Outside of the Holy swords, it was also possible to use Demonic swords. But while those swords could be used by anyone, the price to pay was the loss of one's own life force. In the church, there was only one exorcist crazy enough to use them. The worst was that he even used more than one of them.
“Shit. I shouldn’t think about such an unpleasant guy. I still have something to settle with that bastard.”
Wiping out the image of that silver-haired arrogant bastard from his mind with a shake of his head, he put back his attention on the case and continued his musing.
He received it when he was twelve. But, even after two years, he never opened it. His mixed feelings aside, he never really thought he had a need for it.
Even though he had a talent for every kind of weapon, it wouldn’t be a lie to say that he always felt more at ease while holding a spear or a lance.
But, those kinds of holy weapons were very scarce. He only knew two. One of unknown whereabouts, [TRUE LONGINUS] and another rather powerful holy spear [RHONGOMYNIAD] used by King Arthur to kill the traitor Mordred, but like [EXCALIBUR], [RHONGOMYNIAD] was broken.
On the other hand, unlike it, its pieces weren’t used to create new weapons. From what he knew, the angels recuperated those pieces and kept them in heaven. Since that was the situation, he wasn’t really interested in whatever weapon laid in this case.
'No need to think about it'

Anyway, until now he was never in a need of a weapon. But, this wasn't the case anymore. He needed a good weapon and what laid in that case was the best he had on his hands right now.
"Sigh.. . Seems like I have another debt to that old man."
Finally, he opened the case, and was surprised by what he saw.
“A ball?”
He couldn't help but be dumbfounded at what lay in the case.
“Seriously!!?... A ball!!?”
Exactly, it wasn’t a sword or even a spear, but a ball. A golden ball. It was rather big, as big as a soccer ball. But it was just a ball.
He tilted his head.
Is it some kind of unknown holy weapon?
It wasn’t impossible. Perhaps he would use it as a throwing weapon and smash it on the devils?
Hum...Weirdly it would be rather cool.
He decided to touch it, but,
*Zap*
