《The Battle Mage》The Egg

After parting ways I headed to the library to learn where I can get the materials needed to forge my weapon and the magic stones needed for the magical veins.
After reading for a few hours I learned that I can get magical stones by killing monsters, demons or the undead.
There's a mountain not far away from here called Mountain of the fallen this is because that place was once a war zone where thousands of corpses formed a mountain and after a few thousand years the corpses turned to soil forming a mountain filled with tall dark trees where minsters and spectres of the past roam, on the border of the mountain should be safe for me because the monster's level there are said to range from 20-2, as for the materials for the blades.. Simple steel won't do Mythril and orichalcum are too rare... Let's just think about it after I get the magical stones
The next day was a weekend so I packed my stuff and headed for the mountain, it only took me 4 hours by horse, after arriving at the border of the mountain I tied my horse to a nearby tree and observed the surroundings, yup this place gives me the creeps fog that reaches your knees, trees that are dead and black with no leaves but are still growing and obvious death aura everywhere, can't turn back now.
I turned vigilant as I slowly walked towards the mountain checking every now and then for any monsters that might pop out... After a few minutes of walking, I finally see a specter but whats weird is that it is in enraged state it had a red aura swirling around its body, this is weird but I steeled myself before rushing towards it
"[holy light]! "

I quickly cast a light attributed spell that caused the specter to scream in agony and charge towards me. After a few more
[holy light] the specter finally dies dropping a stone the size of a pebble, this is a magic stone? I imagined it to be a bit bigger... Looks like I'll be stuck farming here for a while.
Judging by the size of the magic stone dropped I'll need at least 100 stones to fully inscribe the magic veins needed in 1 blade so all in all I'll need 200 for both blades, I continued walking for a while but I've not spot not even 1 monster since then.
"this is weird according to the info there should be more popping out. "
I thought to myself as I started setting up a fire to cook lunch, but then I suddenly heard a low growl from behind and when I looked I saw a two-headed wolf in its enraged state looking at me fiercely.
"Crap" I barely dodged its attack, the wolf turns around and charges at me again, I jumped right above it, took out my blade and using the momentum of the fall used [smash] slicing the wolf in half.
The wolf died and turned to smoke dropping a magic stone twice the size of the one the specter dropped, I quickly grabbed the stone and ate my lunch before following the trail of the two-headed wolf back to its lair,
"he should have a pack right?"
After saying that I came across webs lots webs on the trees on the ground everywhere, but there was something weird even though there were webs no spiders could be found so I steeled myself and continued walking forwards, along the way I kept seeing what seems to have been a war, magic stones were everywhere but I didn't bother picking them up but what I encountered next was out of my expectations, lower body of a spider and the upper of a human females.. An arachnid but she seems to be wounded and kept fighting 13 wolves... Strange why isn't she fleeing, then I understood she was protecting an egg the arachnid seems to have noticed my gaze and started shouting.

"What a human? Please help me, take my child and run"[???]
she looked at me pleading.
"No! I'll help you take out the wolves"[Lyan]
I replied as I jumped up brandished two of my blades and casting [smash] killing off 1, then I threw both my blades up, pointed my palm at the two wolves that are rushing on my sides then cast fireball hitting them both but didn't kill them, I touched the ground and cast mud pit, it managed to slow down most of the wolves the smarter one lunged at me baring its fangs but before he could reach me I caught the two blades I threw and hacked at it, 11 more to go.
At this rate I'll run out of mana before I could finish them off so I ran towards the mother arachnid made her hold her egg and lifted her up then jumped on a nearby tree, I cast [water blast] on all of the wolves and using my other hand used
[lightning strike], my plan worked and all 11 wolves laid down paralyzed, I jumped down the tree laid the mother arachnid down and started finishing them all one by one. Before the last wolf died it managed to howl one last time, it was a howl full of resentment and anger, after killing the wolf I rushed to the mother arachnid brought out a potion and tried to make her drink it but she stopped me and said with a weak voice
"I thank you human but I cannot drink such potions for I am a monster.. " [???]
"At least try.. "[Lyan]
"Hehe. Young man, what is your name?"[???]
"Lyan. Lyan Timberwolf" [Lyan]
"Lyan, as a mother please look after my child, I won't last much longer..."[???]
She started coughing up blue blood it really doesn't seem tha she'll last much longer so I squeezed out my voice with the most effort.
"May I please know your name? "[Lyan]
"... I.. Have none... "[???]
Her reply was expected but it still scratched my heart
"Then... What name should your child have?.. "[Lyan]
I'm gonna cry...
She looked at her egg, stroking it with love and said
"Ra.. Rach-..."[???]
she tried to muster what's left of her strength and finally with a voice as smooth and soft as silk
"Arachne... "[???]
before finally closing her eyes... Streams of tears fell from eyes as I laid her down and took her egg as large as a basketball ball and looked at her corpse vanishing along with the black smoke and noticed a magic stone unlike any other I've seen, it was red as red her eyes and along with it was two fangs... I took both with the utmost care wrapped it in a cloth and kept it in my bag... My mourning didn't last long as I heard several howls

Cornucopia of Hope
The graduating class of Hope's Peak Academy has been kidnapped sometime after their graduation ceremony. They wake up in a beautiful, plush mansion with no idea where they could be other than the name Our Mansion of Plenty. The physical barriers of steel plates and locked doors might not be enough to cage them, if it weren't for the malicious mechanical fairy calling itself The Fey and ruling their new lives with an iron--albeit tiny--fist. While being kidnapped is bad enough, the fact that this fairy brat is telling them to kill each other is definitely worse. Apparently, murdering one of your fellow victims is the only way to get out of this luxurious mansion. But nobody would do that...right? Cornucopia of Hope is a non-canon killing game completely alienated from the the canon universe of the Danganronpa games. The things borrowed from the games are as followed: Hope's Peak Academy, and the structure of 16ish hyper-skilled teenagers trapped in an enclosed space and being subjected to a motive, a murder, an investigation, a trial, and an execution of the presumed killer. There are no spoilers, tie ins, or previous knowledge required of the series to read this story!

Sara's (not really) Fabulous System Armageddon, Book I: The World Ended at Rush Hour
Planet Earth, Monday, October 7th, 2019. 18:30 * * On a fateful day, during rush hour in eastern North America, Heavens and Hell crumbled and fell from their higher dimension on Earth. It came from "above" but not the same above we regard in our tridimensional Euclidean reasoning. No, it came from "above" as in from a higher dimension. Bits and pieces of those places fell on Earth from all directions, this time in tridimensional Euclidean space. Satellites, the ISS, and space debris all were wiped clean from orbit. Even those that didn't crash with the falling debris were knocked off orbit by the shockwaves. On the ground, power distribution lines were disrupted and most power facilities were left abandoned by their dead staff. Most of these had emergency shutdown routines that engaged in a few days. Some others had a survivor among their staff that followed protocol and activated their SCRAM switches, stopping the power plant. Long-distance communication disappeared the internet along with it. The world was plunged into technological darkness. Nine hundred and ninety-nine out of every thousand human beings perished immediately in the pulse of magical energy from the torn spatial boundary. Spirits were rent asunder and vanished, their fate neither salvation nor damnation, only oblivion. The criteria used for this culling was latent magic potential. It didn't discriminate against education, gender, age, or ethnic group. But of the around seven million survivors, most would meet their doom moments later. Those on moving vehicles, like the ones driving on highways suddenly had to contend with high-speed uncontrolled cars and trucks driven by corpses. Trapped in their vehicles and helpless, they became part of the long snake of crushed metal. Very few survived. Those in the air or out in the sea were alone and probably unable to control their rides. Airplanes crashed, and ships kept their course or drifted away, depending on their autopilot. Several ended their own lives in utter despair after seeing their loved ones die in front of them. Another large group would die at the hands of other survivors. Violence and aggression became the norm. Only a few sparse pockets of not-so-sane survivors managed to band together and cooperate for the sake of mutual survival. The sole survivor in a five-over-one apartment building in Georgia, a girl became the keystone to humanity's survival. Sara's fabulous System Apocalypse had just started. She has only one remark. It was anything but fabulous. * * Updates every Wednesday and Sunday.
