But I don’t know what that serpent promised you, remember that it speaks with forked tongue and will try to gain as much control over you as possible. It could just be another trap.

As for that revelation, I don’t think I have any reason to not believe you. But it does sound uncomfortable. I will not abandon you, not after all this time. I would save you all over again, even if I knew that serpent was influencing me, because I know it was the right thing to do.

Aaka is alive and well, by the way. She apparently drifted on the waves in a jar for quite a while and is now living on Botrelandt, waiting to be picked up and sent back by an acquaintance of Black Surgeon.
