《King of Hell》Volume 5 - The Unyielding Baroness of the Belith House - Chapter 2

Chapter 2
I was panicking, according to the village head, It would take me 3 full days to make it to the Summit’s location. Hell’s infrastructure had come a long way in recent years and there were warp points scattered in all territories. However, the remoteness of this area and the simple nomadic lifestyle of the people that live here, meant that the network of warp circles hadn’t reached this far out yet. Damn, that geezer needs to spend less time polishing that Qiang of his and more time on sorting out the infrastructure of his territory.
I stopped directing my frustration at the geezer and started sprinting through forests and up mountains at full speed. If Seir were here, then he would definitely make us stop at the top of the mountain and yell “Baaaaaaeeeeeeel!” repeatedly, my heart was on fire from all the running though, so I stopped letting my mind wander and kept focused on trying to make it back in time…
“Master I…”
“*pant* Not now Morgana, I don’t have time to stop and pick…”
“Wahahahahahaha, why are you so panicked foolish boy? Surely the snow girl and the foolish Prince can manage without you.”
“Normally yes, however, the old timer said Belith. The Belith House is the Branch Family of the Bael House. There’s no telling how many vassals they have.”
“Wahahahahaha, branch family? In my time, Belith was a name synonymous with destruction and terror, in fact, It is said that the Belith House has the strongest direct blood ties to that bastard Lucifer himself. How the mighty have fallen...”
“Not helping old man! *pant*”
“Master I…”
“Not now Morgana! Damn, I didn’t get a chance to see highlights of any of Belith’s summit clashes. I heard a rumour that the head of the Belith House had an unlimited amount of demonic energy too. This is not good, I can’t let Seir take to the stage this early…”

“MASTER KURO! WOULD YOU STOP AND LISTEN TO ME!”
I stopped dead in my tracks. It was the first time that Morgana had raised her voice at me since she became my familiar, it was also the first time she used my name. I was a little taken aback, but I had been ignoring her and she wouldn’t have lashed out like that if she didn’t have a good reason.
“S-sorry Morgana, I guess I was kinda ignoring you...”
She smiled at me and shook her head.
“It’s ok Master, you can make it up to me later *wink* *wink* I just wanted to know why we don’t just fly there?”
“Wahahahahaha, come now little witch girl, the foolish boy doesn’t have...wait, he could just use mine…”
“W-wait, I can use your wings to fly old man!? Why didn’t you tell me earlier!”
“Wahahahahahaha, w-well, ummmmm, demonic energy! It’ll waste too much demonic energy! We can’t have that now can we?”
“No, I’ll need as much as possible to go up against that Belith guy, thanks for your idea Morgana but…”
“I can fly us there!”
“W-what?”
“I am a witch yknow!”
Morgana evoked herself and pointed her open hand at a nearby elm tree. After a few seconds it turned black and began to wither and die. I closed my eyes, clapped my hands together and prayed for the Kodama’s that once lived there. Morgana repeated the same actions to a number of other nearby trees, I then felt her take a small piece of my demonic energy and make a fist.
“Taadaa!”
Morgan opened her hand and after a small purple glow, a crooked black broomstick with thick purple bristles at the end materialised.
“Neat magic trick, now can we get to the part where you make me grow wings or something?”

Morgana proceeded to sit sideways on the broomstick and invited me to sit next to her.
“Oh no, that doesn’t look safe at all, I could fall off, I can’t waste demonic energy on cushioning my falls.”
“What’s the matter master? Don’t you trust me?”
Morgana was making that same sorrowful expression as before. I decided to trust her and sat sideways on next to her. It was surprisingly comfortable, I mean I expected it to poke me in weird places but it didn’t.
“O-OK Morgana, before we go, let me just…”
“Hold on master!”
The broom took to the air like a rocket. I was completely unprepared, I almost fell off, but managed to stay aboard by clinging to the now fully materialised Morgana.
“Teehee, master, don’t let go ok”
She had planned this from the start...I tried steadying myself and letting go of Morgana but whenever I did, she would intentionally do loopty loops and barrel rolls. I had no choice, I had to let her have her way if I wanted to make it back in time.
“M-morgana! How long will it take for us to get there if we fly at this speed?”
“Hmmmmm, I dunno master, I think the broom would go a lot faster if you held me tighter, although, that’s just a theory teehee.”
“...*sigh*”
I embraced Morgana tighter, she proceeded to giggle mischievously and sure enough, our speed doubled. After this is all over, I’m gonna make it my mission to find a way to use the old dragon’s wings as efficiently as possible…
“Woohooooo, this is so much fun, right Master? I haven’t done this for such a long time!”
“Wahahahahaha, slow down little witch girl, our muggle friend looks like he’s going to throw up.”
“D-don’t use references that you don’t understand old man! M-Morgana, I swear if you do another loopity loop I’m gonna…”
“Teehee, I told you to hold on Master!”
Seir, Alice, Shiro, I don’t think I’m gonna make it...

The Anthology
This is my collection of short stories. I ask what stories would my audience like to read and write whatever they post in the comments. I strive for more than two dimensional characters and I like to make my stories somewhat unique. The first six entries are my experiment to just write without stopping and see what comes out. They can serve as an introduction for the reader to me as a thinker and writer. Although it should be known that the majority of those entries were written in a foggy state of mind. Entry seven is where my short stories begin.
