《Re:Spider》Golden Defense

...
nothing happened. i walked around the net, but i felt no different. when i compared myself to the flies, i was just as small as before. ´... no growth?´ i shuffled about, and proceeded the day as you might expect. i added more layers to the web, ate some, and as no new insects had gotten stuck, no new exp. after a while, it got a bit colder and i figured the sun must be going down. ´huh, guess ill be sleeping now...´ i went to the middle, and positioned myself like a spider would.
the night went by with no abrupt visitors, and i got a good nights sleep. ´moooooorning...´ i streched my five limbs, and went to a smaller fly to eat. ´wait, what is...´ as i came closer, i realized it had gotten smaller than before. the full bag was now slightly smaller than me, and i tapped it slightly. ´wait... do i grow when i sleep...?´ i looked at my three arms, and wiggeled them in front of the now dead fly. ´i mean, i guess that is nice... but id rather grow when im awake...´ i moved back to the center after eating, and sat still in a drowsy state.
as i had finally entered "spider mode" i felt a vibration in the web. but it didnt really feel like a vibration, more like an earthquake. ´s-shit! dont tear my net down, i worked so hard on this!´ i quickly ran over to whatever was causing it, only to find a most bizzare creature. it looked a bit like an overgrown lice, and it had a brown hue. the think that stuck out wasent this, no, it was the pincers. it had two scorpion like arms with giant pincers. these arms were about half as long as the creature itself. ´whoa, what the fuck are you´ as i came closer, the picer which were not fastened to Goldie, tried to pinch me. of course, i was to far off to actually be hurt, but i imagined how much being pinched by one of those would hurt. ´hold on, how did you even...´ even stranger, it had no wings.

as i was wondering how the hell it had even gotten to my web, another earthquake ran through my web. as i looked over, i saw another one. this one had gotten tangeled up, and was unable to move. i left the other one alone, and i went over to the new one. right as i was about to grab him, one of his pincers cut the Goldie holding it, and tried to attack me. i jumped back in the nick of time. ´whoa whoa whoa, dont you dare, you fake scorpion (Psuedoscorpion, actually)!´ i went behind him instead, and sprayed Goldie on him until he was unable to move. i then picked him up, and before he was able to pinch me, i span him around. finally, he was wrapped up nice and tight, ´Venom Fang, biach!´ i bit him, and when i felt his body going limp, i stuck him to the net.
as i felt two more earthquakes, instead of going up and taking them out, i instead ignored them. ´what is this, The Book Of The Damned?´ that was, until i saw what was causing this rain of fake scorpions. a giant beetle, black with red, orange and green patterns flew by my web, and setteled down on Leif. the wierd part of it, was the fact that it had really long forearms. they were longer then the beetle itself. as it landed, five or six fake scorpions shuffeled off, and a few of them saw me. they rushed towards me, and got stuck in the web. all whilst i was just staring at them. the beetle started burying itself into Leif ´hey! the fuck are you doing to Leif?!´ i ran to the edge of my web, only to find the fake scorpions running at me. ´shit! dont attack me, i dont want any trouble!´ i evaded them, only to find them getting stuck in my web. ´stupid fuckers...´

as my hands were full killing off fake scorpions, the beetle had completely burrowed inside Leif. ´fuck, the beetle!´ as i had finnished off the final beetle, i rushed back to Leif, and went to the hole. only now did i realize, that the beetle was about ten times my size. ´holy fuck im so dead´ but i did have some smarts. before leaving, ´E-Enzyme Spray!´ but instead of injekting the beatle, i shot it straight at him. Lennon turned around, and looked at me dead in the eye. i immidietly turned tail and ran. ´f-fuck off Lennon, i dont want your love!´ the beatle tapped after me, but stopped when i jumped up on the web. ´ha ha! cant catch me, now can you?´ the beatle unfolded its wings and shook off some tiny ass fake scorpions and red balls. ´o-oh shit, im not a little girl, Lennon!´
the beatles wings started flapping, and soon it was off the ground. ´fuuuuuuuuck!´ i ran through the web, until i reached the middle. the beatle hovered right in front of me, and the long legs reached out for me. ´heck no!´ i shot some Goldie on the legs, and started pulling him in. the beatle tried to fly away, but i fastened Goldie to the web, which is quite the material. i had estimated it to be as strong, if not stronger, then steel. i shot a few more strings at Lennon, and affixed them further and further from the first one, which pulled him closer and closer to the web.
´fuck yea! Chapman should see you!´ as i had finally made his long as fuck forearms touch the web, soon his actuall body followed. as to not make his wings rip the web, i sprayed some Enzymes on them, which melted them slightly, incapacitating him. after that, pulling him in was only a battle of strings and kunning. of course, since i was once one of the most intelligent species, i won.
finally, his huge body had gotten put in the web. the only thing i was worried about was how to string him up. ´hmm, how do i do this... i guess ill just go around him?´ i went around him, through the web, back up, and continued doing so until he was fully covered. ´but... where do i bite? not the stomach, too thick... what about the neck?´ i went over to where the neck should be, and bit it. thankfully, i felt almost no resistance, and my fangs sank in easely. as i injected him with venom, i realized ill probobly have to sit here for quite a while.

What Was Lost Outside Time
What happens to a mind, subjected to an infinite span of time? What remains, when it is taken out again? This is the story of an individual reborn after such time has passed that nothing remains of what it was; an individual who must learn once again what it is to be, beginning with awareness of the idea of awareness, and growing from there; from awareness of self, to awareness of others, to awareness of society, and on. This is the story of a mind; growing, learning, adapting, and becoming more. -- Currently the first three chapters are - well, kind of experimental. I both like and hate these; they were a pain to write, and I'm told by at least one person that they're painful to get through, but I think something like them is necessary to set one of the basic ideas about the way the story is written. It gets slightly more normal after that, the first arc of the story is rather "battle school", and I think I may need to go back and edit it - the characterization didn't end up working out as well as I had originally hoped, unfortunately, and ended up rather weak to my eye. I may go back and add a sub-plot or two, depending on how well I can handle the intended perspective shift of the second arc. -- Currently on hiatus, in case that wasn't obvious. I'm debating between rewriting large portions of what I've already written, and just finishing out the story, but either way, I don't actually have a clear idea of what I want to do right now. If I'm still feeling the same way in a few months I'll put a chapter up explaining where the story was going, maybe, so the people who have enjoyed it can know where the story was intended to go, and close this out.

The Pugilist
Vincent Roy Salazar has never been your common folk. He climbed any mountain he found in front of him. From a bright young student to an accomplished professor, his life can be described as a continuous race to the top of his chosen fields. Patriarch of a loving family, proud father of three already grown siblings, Roy realizes that his life is the perfect picture of what the average man strives for, and for that he is truly grateful. But happiness is a difficult-to-reach goal, and as he lies in a pool of his own blood, his fist cracked, a young lady crying while cradling his head, he remembers what really gave sense to his youth. Pure Unadulterated Violence The Pugilist wants to be a different take on isekai shenanigans. What would happen if instead of a moronic idiot, a depressed high schooler, or a wannabe hero the one to get his do-over is a fully grown man that has already seen what life has to offer in full? Someone who conformed himself to society, but has always craved something different? In a journey of self-discovery, academy building, god-slaying, and absolutely no harem we follow someone driven by logic, experience, and a smokey goal: to fuck shit up, have fun while doing so, and maybe resume his career as a professor for those strange, magic-wielding, unstable youths that seems to never get enough of his presence. Guys, a few notes, first of all, this is my first time writing long-form fiction. I have a background in psychology, and my main income comes from writing dreary financial articles on SEO blogs. But after a bad break-up, and finding myself falling asleep only while thinking of deus ex machina for stories on this site (and for APGTE) I decided to try my hand at this web series thingy. I'm confident in my grammar, but that's it. Everything else will be a first time, and as such any constructive criticism is encouraged and gratefully accepted. Now, on the story. Romance will be introduced once my little heart is mended, if you are scared of LGBT you may be turned off by the fact that I plan to have no taboo of any kind in my universe, but I won't ever write detailed sex scenes for any characters so don't worry too much. The litRPG part is very light and will take place later in the novel, but it's a key component nonetheless, for world-building and storyline reasons. I already have everything big planned out, so I won't drop it outta nowhere, and I hope you won't find too many flaws in how things pan out. I plan to make The Pugilist an interactive story, with secondary characters created by my audience and introduced after tweaks and careful planning. The main reason I'm writing this is that I want to build a community for myself in this time of isolation. I discovered that exercising, playing the piano or video games means jack-shit when you are utterly miserable, so I hope to give some value to my readers in exchange for praise, fame, money, and companionship. I give full props to anyone who has read this whole mess of a synopsis: I hope to not disappoint too much, now let's write some more steaming garbage that will be in dire need of editing later on.

A Long Refrain
September, in the Continuate: For most students living in the Third Division, the month's arrival usually means the start of a new school year. But not so for one particular freshman, whose first month at college seems to never end—literally. Set during the 20th year of the nation's Rectification Era, A Long Refrain follows Melody Quick’s attempts to escape from the month-long time loop she's found herself trapped in. Her journey, which starts in the capital city of Somnhaven, will take her across the vast expanse of land once known as Circadia, whose forgotten histories, ancient secrets and eccentric inhabitants could hold the key to discovering the true nature of the loop and the role she herself plays within it. However, the more she learns, the more cruel truths she must face: Will she really be able to handle the awful reality behind the loop, and all that it entails? And will those very same answers she's found be enough to not only break her free from the loop, but to also protect the people she holds dear? (A-and from what, exactly ...?)
