Even her father's sour mood didn't bother her as she hummed joyfully over a steaming pot.
“Yer in a good mood eh? What, find yerself a white-knight?” her father mocked her smiling face.
“What'd ye bring back, then?”
Suddenly, her whole body tensed. “It's a weapon for me to train with.”
“Ha! Weapon? Bet ye couldn't even strike down a rat, ye useless bitch.” His words were slurring heavily, so she ignored them as best she could.
She served an extra 2 bottles of wine with dinner, hoping he would quietly pass out. Even after downing all 3, he muttered on under his breath.
“Gimme a look at yer weapon then.”

“I won't break it, just wanna see the junk yer bringing home” and he snatched up the pole-arm, roughly removing the cover with a heavy tearing sound.
“Oi, did Nito make this?” he asked with greedy eyes.
Suzu nodded, her stomach filling with a sudden dread.
“Dunno why ye have something like this, it's a weapon fer a real warrior, not a kid. I'll sell it properly and get ye a short sword...”
Suzu seized the pole with an iron grip, refusing to let go.
“Oi, drop it, ye damn ungrateful whore! Who do you think feeds you!?”
He struck her heavily across the cheek, but recoiled in fear almost immediately. With dead eyes, Suzu had drawn her dagger.
“Give... my... weapon... back... NOW!”
She pulled with all her might, sending her stunned father stumbling into her rising knee. Taking a solid impact to his well-rounded gut, he slumped to the ground, cussing as he struggled to breath.
“Don't come back here again ye ungrateful slag! I'll sell ye to a slaver if I see ye again, ya hear!?”
