《The Dragon King》Chapter 23: Parasite BBQ

Cyril pov
Dragon form, huh? I can already feel the power coursing through me. My mana has definitely increased immensely.
"This form...I could get used to something like this."
"HAHA! Right?! Isn't it great? I told you, you could trust me! Here, take a look!"
I look back over to Ambrgino. Somehow a giant mirror appeared. I'm going to assume it's some kind of magic.
Anyways, I look into the mirror. I have to say, I don't hate what I'm seeing. Standing on all fours is a black scaled. I'm a bit slime, but I'm slightly taller than Ambrogino now. The color of my eyes have remained the same, purple spikes are protruding from my back which almost seem to glow, each of my paws have three razor sharp claws of about 6 inches in length and my tail is quiet long as well. Almost the entire length of my body. The only thing that bothers me is that I have no wings. I can't say that I'm dissapointed, but I was looking forward to flying.
"Hmm I don't know. The kid doesn't have that same spunk to him anymore."
Gnat thought I had "spunk"? Didn't know that was a word in this world.
"You moron! This is the embodiment of evil! The ultimate power! And you think he needs spunk?"
Sigh He sure does yell a lot. It's getting on my nerves.
"It doesn't matter anymore. My business here is done. See you around, Ambrogino."
He then begins to leave, but immediately after Gnat turns to leave I dash infront of him, preventing him from moving any further. I don't want him to leave yet. I want to take this puppy for a test drive. I don't know what he's capable of, but if he's a friend of Ambrojino he is sure to be strong.
"...Get out of the way, kid. Trust me you will regret what you're about to do."
"Trust? Last time I trusted someone... I turned into a monster."
I look past Gnat for a split second. I can see Ambrogino still smirking. That tears it. Once I'm done with this bug, he's next.
"[BindingRing]!"
Gnat casts a spell and out of his palm comes a ring of swirling wind that gets larger as it heads right for me.
"So slow."
"Huh?"
I move the left out of the way of the oncoming spell. Then I dash straight past him with my final destination being behind him. His movements are so slow. Was he always like that or is it this new form?

Noticing I had gotten behind him, Gnat leaps away from me.
"So this is the power of a Black Dragon? I need to quickly-!"
Before he could make any other moves a once again dash at him. He doesn't have time to react to my next attack, so this time I aim for the neck.
"Ergh!"
I take his pasty, white neck into my jaws and clamp down as hard as possible before lifting him into the air. Blood sprays from his throat and gets in my mouth. Disgusting.
"EEAaAghHrr!"
He's trying to speak, but I've completely crushed his neck. That and the fact that his lungs are filling up with blood so he can't get any words out. He does do one intersting thing though. Before taking one last gurgle, he reaches for Ambrogino. Of course, Ambrogino does nothing. Although he doesn't have that same smirk on his face as before. I'm sure he expected something like this to happen. Doesn't look like he was completely prepared for it to happen.
*Thud!*
I drop him from my teeth and his body hits the ground.
"SCREEECH!"
I was expecting this to happen. Gnat does the same thing as last night and bursts out from the side of his host's head. Only this time it starts screeching in fear.
"Annoying."
I couldn't take anymore of that ear peircing screeching, so I stomp him into the ground. A white goop splattered onto my paw, staining my obsidian like scales. This ugly thing just keeps getting more and more disgusting. I rub my foot on the grass to get it off.
Then I remember what Ambrogino had told me last night about Gnat's children so Igo back to his previous host's lifeless corpse. Crawling out of the wounds in his neck are tons of mini Gnats. So I open my mouth as much as possible and out comes a purple flame. Like that, I turn the old host and Gnat's children to ash in a mere second.
*Clap clap clap*
"Well done, Cyril! Well? Don't you love this new you? Overwhelming isn't it?"
I give Ambrogino a nasty look. He doesn't seem to care.
"You don't care about what I've done to your "friend"? That's dissapointing."
"Oh~? Were you attempting to hurt my feelings by killing a bug?"
I was. I want to hurt him as much as he hurt me. I want to crush his spirit and revel in it.Now I know I can never do that. This thing has no feelings for anyone. A real monster.

"Sorry to dissapoint, but I feel no attachment to anything but my Master. After all, he provides me with some very interesting toys such as yourself."
"I AM NO TOY!"
Lunging at him I shatter the ground beneath me. I open my jaws wide and prepare to crunch down on his neck. However, I pass straight through his body as my mouth snaps close on nothing but air. Immediately I turn back to Ambrogino. With his neck still intact he gives me another one of those infuriating grins of his.
"You didn't honestly think I'd be stupid enough to actually show up to this did you? Hahaha! Your power is great, but you have SO much to learn little friend!"
"Where are you! I'll rip you to shreds you rat fucking weasel!"
"Tsk tsk tsk. That's no way to speak to a friend is it?"
Fuck you! I hate this punk so much I could kill his whole family! I'm sick of his constant belittling attitude!
"Listen, this was fun but it's time for me to leave. I have a few loose ends to tie up."
Ambrogino's body starts to become smoke as he fades away. It isn't until he becomes nothing but a head that he says one last thing to me.
"Oh and a word of advice friend. I'd start running if I were you. You see, there's a rather troublesome person coming this way."
With that Ambrogino dissapears into the wind. I furrow my brow as it happens as I'm completely unable to do anything to stop it.
"Ambrogino! I'll find you! And then I'll-I'm Going to burn you to a crisp! Do you hear me?! Huh?!"
My anger begins to overwhelm me again as I shout to the heavens in rage. I swear! I will find him and make him pay if it's the last thing I do!
*BOOM*
I wasn't paying attention when it happened because I was enveloped in a blind rage, but said "troublesome person" that was previously mentioned had fallen from the sky and landed ten feet away from me in the clearing.
Since I hadn't noticed him I continued my shouting.
"Do you hear me, Ambrogino?! Come out now! I will rain fire down on you fucker! I'll turn this entire forest into a wasteland!!!"
"What the FUCK!"
"Hm?"
Hearing someone yell it catches my attention.
"It's a BLACK DRAGON!"
It's a man that stand at seven feet with red spiky hair and green eyes. He is also incredibly buff with biceps the size of a man's head. He wears a metal chest piece and has a giant claymore on his back. This is the troublesome person Ambrogino was talking about? He doesn't really seem like much.
"Leave and I will let you live you runt."
I am in no mood to deal with this right now. I've had enough social interaction for one day.
"Leave? And miss my chance to become the hero that slayed a Black Dragon? I don't think so."
"Okay that's it. I can't take this. Just remember I gave you a chance."
Then I put all of my strength into my legs and shoot straight up into the air. I caught a glimps of the man's face and he looked to be both impressed and a little dumbfounded.
Once I reach a good hundred feet do I start falling head first that I ready my flame breath. I build up as much as I possibly can. Just before I release it I yell this.
"This is for you Ambrogino!"
"Wait did you say Ambrogino?"
I'm not listening to him since I start remembering that lying bastard.
"Scorched Earth, Motherfucker!"
As I release my fire breath I unhinge my jaw to let out more. Seems like this is something my Dragon Form can do because it doesn't hurt at all. In fact, it feels natural.
Anyway, I hurl a giant fireball the size of the Hindenburg Blimp. the force from releasing such a powerful atatck sends me back up into the air. Once the fireball hits the ground it spreads across the entire forest for as far as the eye can see. It's not enough! I will incinerate everything as long as I can kill Ambrogino. I have to make sure I kill him! So I keep pouring out purple flames and propelling myself back up in the air again and again and again.
It's not until there is nothing but ash left on the ground that I stop and begin falling back to the Earth.
*BOOOOOOOOOM*
I land on my feet and beneath me the ground shatters and a shockwave is visible as the ash is blown away.
In front of me is a site you'd see during an apocalypse. Nothing. No sounds but the wind and no life except for me. What have I done?
"I have..done something so-so......beautiful!"

Vondersnitch has traced the origins and aftermath of the replicators' rapid spread.
