Dear self,

Voidbringers are a class of Outer beings that generally wander between the Void and Limbo and like inhabiting the spaces between realities. Like a lot of higher being their subsistence is dependent on what from a mortal perspective can be considered the basic structure of reality and is to them just substance to be consumed.

Many higher order beings are effective made of fundamental things such as space and time in the place of them flesh and bones.

Many Outer beings interact with Materiality strangely when manifesting on our plane. They often appear as shifting masses of material which can be either organic or inorganic in appearance. Most such beings appear largely inorganic while the ones who interact with materiality more often are more likely to have an organic appearance of some kind. Outer beings also appear as dynamic manifestations of energy as what makes up their “body” is merely a foreign shard of eldritch reality and their appearance in our world is merely the dynamic interaction between our mental reality and theirs. Outer beings are effectively each their own individual personal reality. They rarely appear relatable across multiple specimens. Similar appearing Outer beings are more likely to be a singular being manifesting through multiple avatars.

Voidbringer in particular feed on our reality more than other kinds. They are the equivalent to herbivores among their order of being as they feed mostly off of the more inanimate reality than hunting and consuming other eldritch beings like many others do. In this way Voidbringers are relatively passive and docile.

They live primarily within Limbo, which is the border between what we would consider reality and the Void, and is where loose shards of our reality slowly dissolve into the Void. Voidbringers do not feed off of more anchored parts of reality and cannot harm most of what we would recognise as our world. What they are drawn to instead is loose threads of reality such as rifts, portals, pocket dimensions, and bridges between reality. Anything that isn’t fully enclosed within our sphere of existence is vulnerable to them. They are also the reason it is so difficult normally to cross over into other planes such as into Paradise. It is possible to construct bridges between realities that they cannot consume if the construct is anchored i to itself strongly enough, but less permanent dimensions are increasingly vulnerable to the, and they are the strongest factor in access to pocket dimensions being largely temporary.

A benefit that Voidbringers have is that they ensure realities do not collide into one another and ensure that realities remain separate. Incoherent realities such as primal chaos is the most appetizing to them, and so they are a major way in which such hazardous phenomena are prevented.
