Dear self,
Today I dreamed of a smokeless fire that did not burn. It was a joyous thing, and it was whispering words I could not hear. I hope I don’t have that dream again.
I began the morning by re-infusing the wonderment formation, which I had done before going to sleep. The conflux seems to be going well and is quite steady. Even though a more energetic flux would be more effective, it would only be detrimental if the flow isn’t kept consistent.
I finished working on that masterwork knife by removing the old faded enchantment beneath the active working. Sealing the item also solidified the enchantment so I didn’t have to harder the matrix again after loosening it. The traveler who owned the knife conveniently showed up this morning so it didn’t even dust the shelves before vanishing.
We spent some time in the garden pruning the plants and harvesting some of the herbs. I showed Tori how the Snapweed became more dangerous when it grew icicles. He loved toying with a bundle of Bubbleshil I picked for our cellar. He wasn’t as careful as he should be and got the hiccups for hours after breathing in too much of the plant.
After getting through the wards on that statue I found a problem. The statue was designed as a ritual tool to help with communion with higher powers. From the iconography I suspect it was intended for a specific entity by some old cult. The issue is that the workings has not only degraded over time, but it has been warped outside of Solacium which removed its targeted communion. I can clearly see that the connection to the entity it was intended for has been seared with some energy which might be the aftermath of some disaster on it’s end of the connection within the higher planes.

The warping occurred within the warding of the enchantment which prevented the Solacium from detecting the problem. The communion is a free connection that a y entity can access and even leads outside of the firmament. Any kind of entity could be peering into the world from this tether.
I isolated the statue for now while we prepare a purging ritual to make sure there is no eldritch influence on the object before sealing the connection. None of us want a leviathan staring into the world and recognizing our faces. From what I could sense there have definitely been entities peering through the tether.
Hope we fare well.
Regards,
Me.
