11th Light beneath the eleventh Moon
3761 Cycles beyond the Dark
722 Years after the Repentance
Entry: 1/028
Dear self,
No one came into the shop today. The morning felt a little more relaxing without something new to deal with. I continued with my work on examining the loupe. This one is intricate enough that I started using a little experimentation using various sample artefacts brought up from the cellar. I needed to see how it reacted in the presence of various materials and workings. I noted any changes to its lattice within the passive presence of other enchantments, direct interaction between enchantments, and even after some interference from some enchantments.
If any of them caused it to react incorrectly the entire working might have needed restructuring, so it is good to be thorough. When it comes to enchantment small flaws that are apparently inconsequential might at any time grow into something new or unwanted.
Enchantments that makes the process of enchanting itself easier are strictly forbidden by the Guild for example, because historically they have caused some outbreaks of a severe Aemuloric magic that spread and subsumed other enchantments and progressively enhanced itself. A supporting effect had transformed into a self-replicating Siphon that subsumed all other magic into itself. In the end it had taken a miracle to purge the enchantment before it spread from the small island it was thankfully limited to. Magic has not been used on that island since.
I needed to periodically interrupt my work and focus on controlling my Incuria, which is a sign that I might successfully inure myself to it eventually, and turn it into something usable. I still used the illusion glamour to focus myself, and I have not yet been successful in controlling the disruptive power other than a few occasions that might have been as much luck as they were skill.

Tori alerted me that the colours were going wrong again, so I had to focus on correcting the image again before letting myself continue unknowingly with a flawed glamour. Doing a repetitive task correctly is more important than doing it quickly, especially when bad habits can easily form. Your foundation is important. It’s just as easy to learn how to do something wrong as it is to learn how to do it right, but unlearning something is the hardest task between them.
Anora found where the Asura had been fighting. Mother called me to join them with Tori to add a third pair of eyes. The rift does not appear to have opened near the epicentre of the fight, which is not completely surprising as we could only track down the location were the very last moments of violence occurred, specifically where the most climactic portion of the confrontation happened. The ground is marked by a sigil consecrated by an Asura. The victor. It was hard to spot but but Anora noticed that sunlight beamed down upon the spot even despite the constant gloom of winter. The mark itself was only a glowing line etched beneath the grass and was only outwardly visible as a few specks of yellow flowers growing out from the snow.
Anora asked to return home with Tori while we investigated all the remnants pf the battle. She appeared outwardly neutral but I have this feeling that she seemed distressed even though finding the rift at the battle site had always been up to fortune. Mother did not seem to notice and the feeling passed instantly when I saw Tori talking about some toy blocks as she carried him off smiling.
Having this site not be near the rift does suggest they had come through the rift before continuing their battle here instead of causing it from any conflict they had nearby. If any clash would have caused the rift nearby it would have occurred here where the violence was at its peak. The sigil appears to have been used to purge the power of the losing Asura as well as using the released energy to travel rapidly to somewhere else. We at least now have a better reference point from which to search for the rift, as it is bound to be relatively near the site we found. We will have to use more general divinations as we do not have anything we can use to make a more targeted scrying spell.

Hope we fare well.
Regards,
Me.

Two And A Half Deadmen
Silver-Spruce is a very strange and very haunted town. Ghosts inhabit its buildings and walk its streets. Some of them friendly and sane. Some of them not so much. Alder helps ghosts. Helps them fulfill their last requests so they can move on to whatever comes next. Sometimes the ghosts aren't so friendly and have to be moved on by force. Alder does that as well. And he's gotten rather good at it too. After a particularly rough exorcism, he finds himself following a strange ghost to a local tourist attraction. And while Alder never means to find himself caught up in chaos, monsters, magic, and mayhem always seem to have a way of finding him. You want more specifics for what you're reading? Here you go: This is Urban-fantasy but a little bit of a different spin. Often the protagonists in such stories tend to be the bigger fish in their world, or at least far from small fry. Be they legendary boogie men or badass wizards (which is in no way a bad thing, I love a lot of those stories.) But I thought it would be fun to have a protagonist who's far closer to the bottom end of the scale. He has some magic, and it's potent in its own way. But he isn't the big dog or a fighting machine. Outside of his bubble of influence, our protagonist is essentially a normal human as far as powers are concerned. And while you should be warned that this story will get dark in some places it's (hopefully) balanced out by humor and the lighter stuff. I'm not sure how to end this synopsis section so I'll just say bye. Bye!
