9th Light beneath the eleventh Moon
3761 Cycles beyond the Dark
722 Years after the Repentance
Entry: 1/026
Dear self,
The forest leaves have completely turned to frost already. Other places see trees shed their leaves completely through winter but in Ekelyn’s grove the nature of winter is attuned enough at this time of year to have ice grow as a living things itself through the plants. Tye trees are webbed with shells of ice and covered in delicate frost crystals in the place of their leaves.
The herbs growing in the garden are also changed by the frosts. Being magical, they still grow, but now an spect of ice is threaded into many of them. We have to work more through the winter to keep the ice aspect from subsuming the plants into a completely crystalline variant of the actual ingredients we need. The spells to manage all that work best at dawn and as close to first light as possible.
The new Incuria I have developed interfered slightly with the gardening magic, and the spells fizzled four times before finally working. One of them temporarily disrupted the weather wards and caused a gust of pressured cold blasting me in the face from the atmosphere. The wards are effective at warding the weather away in a manner that causes it to resurge with a vengeance whenever the wards fail to shield us from them.
Now that Mother is back and I’m mostly in a state to continue working again I asked her to help me create a strong Anamnestic linking between me and this journal. I’ve already added some anamnestic charms to it but they were nowhere near what Umari the Enchantress can construct. You will have to implement the charms after we’ve settled this new incuria but I planned out my ideas with Mother and she showed me flaws and gave some corrections while making some suggestions. The idea is that the Anamnesis will link with me passively whenever I am near and impart any knowledge I need to understand the text, its authenticity, and its nature. It is incredibly hard to falsify the sense of genuine authenticity that anamnesis can give you so it will ensure that you are able to trust our little journal no matter what happens to us. It will also give us the ability to read the text in any mental state and allow us to utilize any spells I add to the journal through basic anamnesis. The last part is the most limited so you won’t be getting too many spells from the journal. Mother suggested I use the anamnesis to clarify a sympathetic bond between me and the text, which sill allow me to access the memory and mental state I had while writing any part of the journal while I am reading it. The book will act as a second store for my memories and identity.

When the lady folk left on their scouting adventures again I was once more left with entertaining Tori. I had to stay today as well so that I might have time to sort out the Incuria I now have. I had another lesson with Tori on calculating glyphs while I meditated and tried to control the Incuria by wiling it to manifest. A problem I found was that is resisted manifesting without a working for it to suppress or disrupt. As I focused I found it becoming easier to manifest without a subject to affect, but how it manifested was less obvious at first.
Tori’s puzzle toy was made using a few glamours, and I noticed the object seemed less visually complex than normal, even seeming like a simple assembly of oblong blocks. To test my theory I took a glamour charm which transformed into a tiny animate bird and flew around. When I activated it the bird appeared hazy and faded instead of its normal detailed structure.
The manifestation I believe was a sort of disruption of my perception of glamours, which meant the Incuria likely manifested in my eyes. I found it easier to perform normal magic again while the Incuria was manifested into my vision, and attempted to strengthen the bird glamour to counteract the disruptor in my vision. I partially restored the glamour to how I originally had seen it but when I showed it to Tori he said it was even more colourless than the glamours I usually make, becoming completely black and white. He then helped me try to restore the full detailed and coloured glamour while I simultaneously worked on making the glamour persist through my Incuria filtering it from my vision.
It turned out to be a good say of practicing my control over the Incuria as well, and it seems like it would be a good way of better analyzing glamours in the future for flaws, which would help me in making better glamours as well as help me recognise glamours where they might otherwise seem completely natural. This is beneficial for me especially because I am already the best at recognizing glamours with the way my colourless eyes ignore the colours which are usually the easiest way for a glamour to convince you of itself. If I can control this way of using the Incuria I might eventually be able to use it as a general way of countering most magic workings and even dismissing my own workings faster for a better celerity. While countering magic is already something I can do with need, having a relevant Incuria with beneficial properties tends to augment the practice affected and make it more efficient or more effective at its purpose, as well as hastening effects. Some Aspirants base their career off of a beneficial Incuria they gained randomly while still neophytes.

Me.

During the great war, the magicless humans were nothing more than fodder, meat shields. Until one day, their powers awakened. After the war, with the ability to now wield, fire, water, earth, wind, or lightning, powerful magicians gathered to build a safe haven for humans, the Kaldora Empire. Before the humans had magic, other races prospered with it. But, within their midst, there were... oddities. People with an affinity for two elements. After that, they were split up, each taken in by a different relative. It has been eight years since the flames engulfed his home and most of his family. The voice inside his head, the thing that influences his thoughts, the monster that he wish was gone, the devil inside his heart. This is a tale about connections. NOTE: The story will be slow for many of the chapters and the time will also match it, ex: goes by day by day. The time mostly will be used for introducing and adding to characters. It won't pick up until somewhere in the twenties but there will be action and events earlier on such as the missions. Just a fair warning. Order of Phantasmal Architects
