3761 Cycles beyond the Dark
722 Years after the Repentance
Entry: 1/022
Dear self,
I slept in late this morning. That dispelling charm the poacher threw at us yesterday had an unexpected interaction with the Aarthrium still infusing me. I got an irritating headache that might last for a few days and my limbs are less eager to move. We were a little too focused on the Guild revocation alert to remember the risks to my health. I just need to avoid any magic usage apart from general rituals until the headache goes away, I do not have enough control over my own powers to avoid causing an Incuria. The Whirlstorms came in with their Teetotum and another charm they owned to have Mother check up on the things, and she was giving me a stern glare after she came back from inspecting the Teetotum. It really did have too many workings for its own grounding matrix to properly support.
Anora arrived today for a visit home from the academy. She was all smiles and cheers before Mum took her by the ear. They spent a while in the workshop inspecting the enchantment we extracted from me yesterday morning and having a loud lesson on magic and safety.
After that we gathered together for lunch. Tori showed us his progress on his puzzle prism which he could now get to change colours when he twisted it. Anora exclaimed just as much over the beaming boy as Mother did. Anora told us news about the academy and how Father was doing. My brother Vaeril was progressing in his research with Animus Theory and measuring how the likelihood of Wild magic is affected by environmental factors. Anora sounded a little eager to please and how much she put up with Father’s training regime.

Anora helped us plan out and prepare to look for the nearby rift. I couldn’t help prepare the divinations on the shard of Fortuity but I had a lot of recent insight on how the local flora might have been affected by the rift in certain areas which might be used to estimate where it is influencing the region.
We do suspect it is a natural rift and as such hold a connection with Chaos magic, which should be dealt with earlier rather than later if it is causing a problem. The thing about Chaos magic is that it isn’t bound to any Fundaments or Era so there is no system with which to regulate its potentiality. Chaos magic is the primal result of blending realities into one another, which makes it understandable why the products of chaos magic are always so uncertain. It’s primal in nature so there is no control over what shards of reality are being brought to our own and natural rifts such as the one nearby have even less control over the powers of Chaos.
Hope we fare well.
Regards,
Me.

Haven in a Dangerous World (Old)
Devin McMullen. Female. 18. Single dad. Dead mom. Good in fights and little else. No friends. Or, at least, that's what she's always been. Now, she's not sure exactly what she is. She's never been one for reading fiction, or anything for that matter, but this feels like something straight out of a fantasy. Her newly acquired instincts, however, scream dungeon core. Whatever that is. Unlike most dungeon cores, though, she's missing something very important. A dungeon. Stuck out in the open, above ground where she's definitely not supposed to be, with not a cave in sight, or any other land form besides miles and miles of ice and snow, Devin's not sure if she can survive. Update: Big caveate, though, just so you know. Started with this one idea and ran with it as far as I could. Characters and plot suffer from it, but I'm proud that I wrote as much as I did. I will rewrite this at some point and make it so it actually has plot. Check out my wordpress © [koallary] and [Haven in a Dangerous World], [2017]. Celestial [A Progression Fantasy LitRPG]
Warning!Profanity, unconventional relationships, drug use, descriptive gore and intimacy. Celestial is a slow-paced and action-packed progression fantasy with elements from the LitRPG genre. The story focuses on the protagonist’s personal growth, violence, sex, exploration and adventure. Follow Zelaria as she embarks on her journey of exploration and adventure, seeking ever greater heights of power. With an affinity for the elusive and mysterious Arcane and a preference for the thrill of close combat she nonetheless chooses to walk the path of a mage. A mage may still use weapons but a warrior rarely casts spells as far as she knows. It’s a logical path for her even if others may call it insanity. What do they know? Most people who choose to specialize in wielding mana tend to pick a mage class aligned with their element. Why become a standard mage, average at everything, when you can use your affinity for fire to become a fire mage and cause destruction with ease? The only problem for Zelaria is that no one seems to know how to get a mage class aligned with the arcane. Approaching 17 years of age she’s still at level 0 while her peers have long left her behind, their classes selected at the age of 15 when they became available. Luck is on her side though as she manages to snag employment as a hauler with a party heading on an expedition to a dungeon abandoned centuries ago. They’re looking for riches and danger while she’s still looking for an answer, one she finds at their destination even if not in the way she expected. Nothing is going to stop her from enjoying all that the world has to offer, not the wish of her parents or even her death. I'll be aiming to upload 5 chapters in bulk every week.
