《Overpowered Death Mage In Another World》Chapter 9

"T-This can't be, wh..what is your actual level?" Elise asked with a horrified face.
"What if I say it's 100," I said in a humorous tone.
Behind me, Amelia and Myra were giggling.
"That's not possible, even there's not a single Platinum Rank adventurer who's above level 60," Elise said with a quizzical smile.
"Believe it or not it's up to you, I have already proved I am above level 60," I said with a broad grin.
"What about her?" Elise asked with a cocked head while pointing towards Amelia.
"See for yourself," I said with an amused expression.
Elise took out another crystal card and handed it to Amelia with nervousness and a bit of excitement.
Amelia injected her mana into crystal card while Elise's eyes were fixed on it.
1 2 3... 13... 24...33...47....59 60 and it exploded again.
Elise was speechless this time, she couldn't utter a single word.
"Now, all formalities are done, can you please complete our registration now?" I snapped my finger at her face to get her attention.
"Ah..yes, here are your dog tags, you can accept quest now," she said nervously.
I took dog tag from her, it was reddish brown cheap looking dog tag made of copper, the material used was the same as our rank. I sighed and wore it around my neck, Myra did the same meanwhile Amelia had an ugly expression on her face.
"Just bear with it, we'll get good looking dog tag in no time," I reassured her.
"Yes, Master," she reluctantly wore it.
A system message appeared in front of me. The job was not a feature in 'Lands and Legends'. I don't think it is complicated like becoming adventurer give me adventurer job similarly people attacking the village had a 'Soldier' job.
I paid six silver fee to Elise and left towards quest board while she was still in shock.
'Hmmm, let's see what quest we can get at the Copper Rank, we have to raise our rank fast'
'Fix the roof of Blacksmith Hubert's house. Reward: 2 Copper Coins'
'Find Cat of Raina, lost in 'Purebreak District'. Talk to Raina for further information. Rewards: 3 Copper Coins'

'Kill giant rats in city sewers. Reward: 5 Copper Coins.'
There were only these kinds of shit jobs for copper rank adventurers.
"Master, we are not going to do this, are we?" Amelia said with knitted brows.
"I don't mind if Max is doing these quests with me," Myra said.
"No way I am doing this, this is beneath me," I said.
Amelia sighed in relief.
I moved towards the reception to talk to Elise. It looked like she was in deep thought.
"Hey, these are all cheap odd jobs, you don't expect me to do them, do you?" I said in a forceful tone.
"I am sorry but this is a rule, all adventurers have to start from the beginning," she said in an apologetic tone.
'I am already fed up, first I had to wear this shabby dog tag and now this shit' I thought.
"Then work something out, I don't believe that you have no way around this," I said in slightly aggressive town.
"Okay, Okay, Hmmm... Let me see... A new dungeon has emerged near the city, this time subjugation party is led by a Gold Ranked adventurer (Rank 8), normally no one below Sapphire Rank (Rank 4) is allowed to participate but with letter of recommendation from Guild Master can let you join in dungeon hunt," she thrust out her chin.
"So, you can get me the letter, right?" I asked.
"Of course who do you think I am, he'll be easy to convince after knowing that he is doing a favor to a high level party, I'll deliver the letter by tonight," she said with a smile while adjusting her glasses with a middle finger.
After saying goodbye to her and giving the address of the inn, we spent our day exploring the various places in the city, it was not much different from fantasy cities I've watched in anime and movies.
Later that night, the guild master personally came to deliver the letter along with Elise. He was a muscular old bald guy. He asked many questions but I only gave vague answers without giving any actual information about myself. All the time his behavior was respectful but I still think that he doubted me if I am strong or not, like I care.

The next day, near the gatehouse adventurers, were gathered. They all looked high level, elite adventurers. For a standard of this world their armors, weapons, and other equipment looked expensive.
"Move your asses, ready your equipment, the dungeon isn't gonna get cleared itself," there I saw a little girl shouting on top of her lungs.
She had long blonde hair tied in a ponytail, seductive crimson red eyes, pale shiny skin, she had long pointy ears like elves, when speaking I could see her sharp fangs. She was wearing a black long sleeved blouse and black colored pleated skirt. Unexpectedly, she wasn't flat chested, she had moderate boobs that didn't match her size.
I saw her wearing a gold dog tag and realized she's the leader of this dungeon hunt.
When we three arrived, adventurers gazes were fixed at us, seeing copper tags they were looking down us. I started walking towards Loli, she looked at me and our eyes met, she licked her lips, for a moment it seemed like I saw craving or some kind of lust in her eyes.
While walking, my path was cut off by a woman wearing very revealing clothes barely hiding her boobs and ass, looking like a whore from the red district, well she was wearing Sapphire Rank tag.
"Hey, pretty boy this isn't a place for rookies, take your whores and go back to your momma," she said in mocking tone.
'I was in good mood in this fucking peaceful morning, now a bitch had come and ruin it. Nobody talks like that to me and especially my women.'
"Fuck off," I slapped her on the face so hard that she rolled few times in the air and directly struck city walls.
Don't look down on me if I am a mage, my physical strength is enough to beat down the likes of them and I like to beat down in an old fashioned way where I can.
"You bastard," a guy who seemed like her boyfriend or something came after me with a sword in hand, before he could even raise his sword to strike, Amelia moved forward with agility and struck her unsheathed sword right in the face, causing two teeth to fall out instantly.
"So cool," Myra muttered with flashing eyes.
Other adventurers looked at us with hostility, ready to fight at any moment.
'Looks like it's a time for a massacre'
"Stop nobody will make a move," cute loli shouted and then move towards me.
"Well, well can't tolerate insult, can ya? I am Claire Melodie and I suppose you are here to join dungeon hunt," she said in a playful tone befitting her child like appearance.
"I am Max and these are my companions Amelia and Myra, and right, we are here to join the dungeon hunt, here's the recommendation letter from guild master," I said in an assertive tone and handed her letter.
"I don't care about a recommendation letter from some old fart, all I care about is if someone is powerful enough to join this party. I already knew you two were strong when my gaze landed on you, but that blondie won't cut it, she said with a dimpled smile.
"She can handle herself," I replied.
"Then she'll have to prove her self by fighting mad Borden," she said.
Then a huge brawny guy, wielding long two handed heavy sledgehammer came forward. She was looking at Myra with a nasty smile like he's looking at his prey.
Myra seemed nervous and had a bit of horrified expression on her face.
"Don't worry, just stick with basics as I have taught you and with a bit of help from Master you can win," she reassured her in a whisper that only she and I could hear.

Moonshot
Gregarious businessman Evin Tumble is fascinated by the sudden and inexplicable appearance of a low-orbiting moon. Specifically, he's interested in shooting it down with a giant cannon. The moon is only about eight miles overhead, but it's high enough and quick enough that nobody can reach it by balloon or airship. He hires our protagonists: taciturn Iseult Morrin, cheerful Sean Whelan, and nervous Íde Ceallaigh, to help him with his obsession. As our heroes are dispersed across the continent to perform tasks for Tumble, and the moon-hunt draws closer, they become increasingly suspicious of their benefactor's motives and true nature. Moonshot is a story centred around struggling with confidence, the difficulty of being an immigrant, and the duality of truth, all clad in the trappings of an urban fantasy. It is character-driven, from the heart, and based on tropes and ideas that are missing from a lot of contemporary fantasy (a push beyond the flawless-yet-somehow-still-needs-rescuing-by-an-oafish-man heroine trope, a touch of cosmic magic based on the shared geometries of Celtic and Arab art).
