《The Tale Of A Slayer》Chapter 14: There are other ways to become a cheat character

“Cough..!!” (Yuuya)
I spat out blood. It’s pretty normal now. I’m sure a long time has passed, and I’ve been subduing the energies one by one. Without doubt, the toughest by far would be the Chaos energy. I sealed it up in a separate corner in my mana pool so that it won’t make the other energies run rampant.
Although I say mana pool, its just an accumulation of all the mana in my body. And frankly, its quite small. The chaos energy occupies a major part in it, since I’ve erected maximum fortifications to keep it from leaking. I can kinda sense how to use the Slayer energies. I just need to release the energies into my default mana pool, and both of them mix and start flowing in my body.
Now, the pain from the energies is not even half as much as before. Goes to prove the strength of the supporting Chaos energy.
After subduing the Chaos energy, I started on the Monster energy. A wild, indescribable type of feeling. It just wants to eat, or kill. The basic instincts of a monster. It’s strength was great, but it wasn’t as hard as the chaos energy. Its finally sealed up in my mana pool.
From then on, the struggle worsens. The Dragon slaying energy. Truly, it deserves the name Dragon. White and majestic, the Dragon energy only tries taking over my body and killing me, since for a dragon, nothing is above it. And right now, I’m above, so the energy runs even more rampant than before. I can feel the strength of a Dragon emanating from it, since it takes everything I can muster to finally subdue it, and seal it up too.
Then, trouble starts. The Monster and Dragon energy start repelling each other. The Chaos energy doesn’t show this since it strengthens others. But the two repelling energies throw my mana pool into turmoil.
Subduing the God slaying energy was eerily easy. I mean, it’s used to kill God, you know? It should be something like a mid boss. But after sealing it, it violently repelled the monster and dragon energies. Were they all in an antagonistic relationship? I’m glad that I took down the Chaos energy first, since it gives me the occasional strength needed to survive against these energies.
But after that, the real trouble starts.
******Miras’s POV******
“Haaah…..”
I sigh, because I’ve been worried sick about my idiot disciple. It’s been a month since he went into the ritual chamber, and I feel very anxious.
Of course, it’s natural that subduing the energies would take at least a month. It took me a month to subdue the Demon slaying energy. And after subduing the God slaying energy, the repulsion was so great, I almost died from over consumption of mana. Oh Damn!
I forgot to tell him about the energy repulsion!
Ah He’ll be fine anyways. He’s my disciple after all. The first time I saw him, he was just a pathetic weakling, whom she brought to me when she found him half dead in the forest after facing just a turtle.
But to my surprise, he was from Japan! I feigned ignorance, but I recognized it. My extra ability, ‘All translator’ automatically makes both parties understand each other, but I could see that the words he mouthed were Japanese. A teleported person.
He was persistent. He kept training every day, and studied our language every night, but he was weak. But he was interesting. The Nutas, which always shy away from people, cuddled him. The spirits love him, as he was always surrounded by spirits. Spirits only like people with good hearts, and he had one.
He failed in the Forest’s Test, miserably. A pathetic weakling, who thought he got strong after a few pushups. True, it may be strong for him, but in this world, he’s at the rock bottom.
And I made him my disciple, and taught him about the Slayers.
And right now, he’s subjugating five energies at once. I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t envy him, but I was also proud of him. He’s my precious disciple. And now, I’ll believe in him.
At first it was full of screams. It hurt my peace of mind, but I continued to persevere, to endure the thought of rushing in and saving him.
Now, it’s more or less quiet. There’re occasional yells, but he’s fine, I think.
I hope he returns all ok….
*Knock Knock knock*
The wood! He knocked on the altar! He did it!
My happiness was immeasurable, as I rushed towards the ritual chamber, tense, but happy.
Arcus smiled at me. He’s a good man. But I don’t deserve his kindness.
He lifted the rock and exposed the cave’s hole. And from there emerged—
“Yuuya!!” (Miras)
I rushed to him, since I was worried. He looks more or less alright. He does seem tired, but that’s okay. But.. but.. What’s he doing? Why… Why is he strangling me?!
“Miras san!” (Arcus)
Arcus yells my name and rushes in. He pushes away Yuuya and carries me back. I gasp for air. Wh-wha- what’s happening? Why? Why?
Why was Yuuya possessed by the demon energy?!
******Arcus’s POV*******
He stood there, waiting. I can sense it. The maliciousness of demons. Its sad but, Lil Yuu is no more. Miras san looks distraught. The other slayers have all drawn their weapons, and are on guard. Shit. The only Demon slayer here is Miras san, and she’s in no condition to strike her favourite disciple.
Lil Yuu bends down, and then dashes out. He comes at me, with the intent to kill.
“Filthy humans.. how dare you imprison me?!” (Yuuya)
What?! A demon… retained it’s conscious?! Meaning it took over Yuuya’s mind! This is not a rampage, it’s a possession!
The other slayers have realized it too, and they all raise their guard. Because if its just a possession, then it can be cured by a > spell. But all the spiritualists! They’re at the village. It’ll take too long to contact them.
Miras san stands up suddenly. She looks resolved. Is she gonna do it? Is she gonna kill Lil Yuu?
She draws her sword. The pair of bastard swords, “God killer Teryon”. The swords she used to slay the god. She disappeared, like an illusion.
Her custom magic, >. She reappears next to Lil Yuu and delivers a powerful kick to his side.
He gasps for air, and is sent flying. She disappears again, and then appears, delivering another strong kick from below, sending him flying into the air. She throws her sword with the chain into his leg and pulls him down. Lil Yuu crashes into the ground. Forget attacking, Lil Yuu couldn’t even defend against Miras san’s superhuman strength.
“Wake up Yuuya! How long do you think you’re gonna sleep huh?!” (Miras)
Saying so, she kicks his chest, sending him skittering across the field. Again, she uses > and reappears next to him, and delivers an axe kick to his head.
“Wake up Yuuya. Are you so weak that you’ll get possessed by demons?” (Miras)
She lifts him up and throws him into the air. Then, she delivers a strong blow to his chest with the hilt of her sword. Ouch. I can hear his ribs cracking from over here.

“Yuuya.. Weren’t you going to protect your friends?! Weren’t you gonna become strong? Weren’t you—“ (Miras)
Keeping on admonishing him, she thrashes him left and right, and slams him into the ground again.
“Weren’t you gonna dispel the Slayer’s curse?!” (Miras)
“I get it, so shut up you old hag of a master!!” (Yuuya)
Eh.
Did I just? No way right? Everyone else looks shocked too. Miras san froze up. Because Lil Yuu, he was—
******Yuuya’s POV******
Has master gone crazy?! She’s thrashing me without holding back! I can feel that all of my ribs were broken! What would you do if I died, master?!
The trouble started when I was subduing the demon slaying energy. As soon as I got a bit of progress on it, Boom, My mana pool practically collapsed. I somehow kept the energies from running rampant, but the collapse was due to the massive repulsion between the god slaying energy and the demon slaying energy. My mana pool was already overworking from holding up all the energies, and this happened.
This guy, this energy, it had consciousness. It could speak. It could act.
It took over my body the second I collapsed, and sent me into a coma like state. He read through all my memories, and figured out the way to exit. Shit. I …I’m losing consciousness again.
And BAM! The old lady comes in, thrashing me without mercy. Her first hit already woke me up, and drove out the demon, but she didn’t stop beating me up and kept doing it, spewing out a lot of my dialogues from before.
My crazy master doesn’t even give me a chance to speak, to warn them that the demon already escaped and was heading towards the silver fur wolf that was about to attack the slayer aunt who was there.
Somehow, I got a gap to speak, and yelled out. My master suddenly froze up and I went crashing down. Ouch ouch, It hurts a lot.
“Yuu…Yuuya?” (Miras)
“Master. No time to speak. The demon energy is possessing tha—“(Yuuya)
“Kyaa!!” (Slayer)
See. Too late. The demon possessed silver fur wolf claws the slayer and she’s sent flying across the plain.
“The demon! It possessed that wolf!” (Yuuya)
“Don’t worry Lil Yuu, as long as its not one of us, we can easily exterminate it.” (Arcus)
“No. Arcus san. I want to try fighting it.” (Yuuya)
“You will? How?” (Arcus)
“I don’t know, but my instincts are roaring to fight.” (Yuuya)
I don’t even wait for his reply and dash in. This body, that I got as a Slayer, its specs were several leagues above how I was before. Like they say, if there’s pain, there’s always some gain.
I close in on the monster that was currently transforming. I hit a wall. Tch. A barrier eh. Well, I’ll allow it to transform. I need to get used to this body before it.
I run around, and jump up and down, in order get used to my now superhuman body I occasionally strike the barrier, but it has no signs of cracking.
My mind’s thought process speed has also boosted. Somehow, I can see it, no feel it, instinctually that I strike at the neck joint of the now transforming demon wolf, I can take it down.
Ouch. My ribs hurt. That crazy master. But suddenly, my ribs feel warm and they’re good as new. Healing magic. What a cheat..
Fine. I’m more or less able to use this body effectively now.
“Yuuya” (Miras)
“Master?” (Yuuya)
Master comes to me, with a wrapped bundle in her hand. She hands it to me. I unwrap the bundle and,
Two katanas.
“Your…graduation present” (Miras)
Uuu… Master… You even prepared a gift for me.
I pick up the two katanas. It seems to be quite a well made katana. Suddenly, I’m attacked by a torrent of feelings.
Eat Kill Torment Pain Anguish.
Every emotion tries to flood my mind, but I easily suppress it. My feelings of wanting to protect are much more than your hunger, you damn glutton.
“Master, this?” (Yuuya)
By the way, the stupid demon is still transforming. Its more like a huge mass of red and black pustules, enlarging and shrinking. Eugh.
Master looks pleased. She nods and says.
“As I thought. These are the legendary pair of swords. Rebellion” (Miras)
Re-re-rebellion?! I just got a super cheat weapon too! Sweet!
“—‘s replica” (Miras)
Master. You did that intentionally, didn’t you. She’s laughing in her usual creepy way.
“Ufufu.. who’s an old hag, you brat!” (Miras)
Well whatever. Using this seems a bit difficult, but I somehow manage it. I’m officially bored of this demon’s transformation, because right now, I want to fight.
I close in on the barrier, and strike the spot I need to strike. The weak spot. I instinctually know that this is the weak point. I repeatedly stab the same point again and again, and finally, the barrier breaks like glass.
“BOOOM!”
The pustule bursts, and I’m sent flying. And from it emerges----
A man.
A man of medium height. His skin is black, with red lines on it. He has two huge horns on his head, and he walks out of the remains of the pustule. His eyes are all white, and he has a disgusting smile.
“A lesser demon…” (Arcus)
Arcus san says so. A lesser demon eh. Here I come, my prey.
“Behold humans, I am Melios! The demon that rules the—“ (Melios)
“Shut up” (Yuuya)
I slam my fist into his face, sending him flying. It feels great. Combat. Is great!
His annoying metallic voice starts up again, and it seems he’s…chanting?
His shadow extends, and out of it, a huge black broadsword comes out. It’s oozing some kind of mist.
Not like I’m gonna give him time for that again. I dash in, and draw the left handed member of the Rebellion. Although my dominant hand is the right, my eyesight there is quite bad. I swing my sword down and he blocks it with surprising speed. Metal clanks and we keep exchanging blows. I swing my sword around like a madman, totally ignoring any techniques.
Inspite of looking like a blockhead, his techniques are great, and he effectively parries every slash I fire at him.
I can feel it. The excitement of combat, my heart thumping, my vision sharpening.
I release the Chaos energy that I holed up in my mana pool. A reddish black energy oozes out of my skin, and I can feel myself changing.
My vision turns sharp. Very sharp. I can count even the number of eye lashes the demon has. Yup. Demons have eyelashes. Long ones. Girly.
My body thickens, and I can feel my muscles growing. I grow a bit taller, and the mat of hair that was in my eyes turns white. Did…did my hair turn white?!
One eyed, and white hair. The path of chuunibyou opens to me.
But what I feel is not that. My mind was already calculating, all the ways to kill him, all the ways to make him fall.
I step in. Fast. Even I was shocked when I instantly reappeared next to him on his left. He realized it a bit late, because as if by instinct, I had already plunged my sword into his arm. He yelled in pain. I twisted it, making the arm unusable. This sword, it’s really sharp.
I draw my sword and back off. He chants something, and suddenly appears before me, his sword coming down on my head.
Speed boost magic? Maybe. I twist in a way humanely impossible, narrowly dodging his sword. In a second, I had drawn both my swords and stabbed through his chin, up his head.
My complete victory. I draw my swords out, and kick his carcass away. The mist had stopped oozing, and the broad sword melts away.
That’s right. I became a cheat character.

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)

I Got Reincarnated on Earth, Only to Get Summoned Back to My Old World
Yuan, the valiant 'Hero' who defeated the 'Demon King', was unfortunately betrayed by his most trusted comrades who accompanied him in his life-long journey. "Heh... I never thought that I'd die like this... In the hands of my own comrades at that..." With that self-deprecating remark, the great Hero, Yuan, fell into an eternal slumber. Of course, that was what he initially thought, but life had other plans set for him. As his soul was drifting off aimlessly into the unknown, a soft and ethereal voice soon called out to him: "My Child, you have suffered and was betrayed. You gave it your all but didn't receive anything in return. In the end, you were killed by those whom you called your own." And so, a miracle was generously bestowed upon Yuan. "I will give you another chance in life My Child... I hope that you lead this new life the way you want it to be. Next time do not be controlled and easily deceived by others... Do whatever it is that you want and desire." Yuan Amon, born and raised in an ordinary family in the Philippines, led a leisurely new life on Earth, only to get summoned right back to his old one 18 years later. "I... I can't understand... Just why... Why was I sent back here of all places!?" A roar of utter dismay resounded in his private chambers. IMPORTANT NOTE (21/10/20): I have dropped this novel on this website! But don't worry, because I have remade this novel on another website called Webnovel.com so you can check it out over there! The story has completely changed though, so don't expect the same old thing, okay? I will still keep this dropped novel here though because it serves as a memory for me when I just started writing so I won't be deleting it. I hope to see you there on Webnovel!
