Seraphim Magi

“Drink this.”

Clay poured an unknown clear liquid then placed the test tube on the tray to his side.

“With your Essence Flame, you can easily expel its side effects. And with that, were done.” The physician looked at Clay from head to toe one more time before getting to his feet before turning around then finally left the room.

In the mean time, Clay stood up as and slowly undressed and removed his hospital gown and put on some clothes.

*Sips

*Sigh!

Clay turned towards the opposite corner where Vidri is currently sipping tea. It has been less than 15 minutes when he exited the Negative Subspace and Vidri himself came to oversee as three doctors came to check his condition.

“Your sigh makes me think I failed your expectations.” Clay quizzically inquired. Although he decided to act naturally and treat Vidri as a friend, he still did not let his guard down. Moments after he exited the Negative Subspace, he had already prepared himself for the worst.

The slightest trace to threat and he will move kill and take the important figures hostage.

“The experiment is a success and has reached dead end at the same time.”

*Sips

“Tea?” Vidri took another sip then invited Clay for a seat.

“Don’t you need time to review the results?” Clay took a seat on a sofa opposite Vidri.

“I had a quick glance on the summary when the second doctor scanned your body. One glance is all I need to determine the result.” Vidri took out a spatial ring from his pocket then threw it towards Clay. “I’ll give you one last chance to change your rewards.”

Clay caught the ring and replied, “I appreciate the intention but I’ve made up my mind. Although there is one thing that’s bothering me.”

Vidri lightly smiled hinting Clay to continue.

“That Captain of Kelum Race who saved me, should I be worried about him?”

“He sold the information about you to me to regain his lost merits. With the success of the project, that guy should receive more. You have nothing to worry about.“

Clay did not know if he should trust what Vidri is telling him now. He did not want to become cynical but after that time when a mysterious divinity rank cultivator wanted to extract his soul, he finds it difficult to believe that no one is secretly plotting against him.

*Mrggghh

Vidri cleared his throat and said, “My business here is done. My status as a Chief Scientist will be retracted and I will become a regular Researcher. I recall you had some questions. If you have anything you would like to know, asked them now as I may not be able to answer them in the future.” He wanted to leave now but he remembered that Clay wanted to ask about Nosfera the first time they met.

Clay indeed had been itching to asked about Nosfera but he never brought it up again as he was finding the perfect opportunity. He was afraid that if he proactively bring up the subject, that some derange lunatic will mistake him again for someone.

He did not want to sound desperate so he decided to ask a different question to throw anyone who might be observing him.

“You said the experiment has reached a dead end. Not to poke my nose into something confidential but the place you sent me to quite piqued my interest.”

Vidri touched the edge of his cup then replied, “The experiment is to prove a math. This is the second time a Psionic wave pattern was gathered and has an accuracy beyond 90 percent which means, we are ready for the next phase. The only thing is, I may not live to see the next phase.”

Clay carefully observed Vidri’s actions. While he may not have background in body reading, he could at least tell if someone is troubled and wants to someone to talk about their worries. He will ask a follow up question then will ask about Nosfera.

“And what exactly is the next phase that you looked like you lost all your money?”

*Mggghhhh

Vidri smirked at Clay’s question as he picked up his cup again.“The next phase is to look for a mage who wants to die. Since you’re too shy to ask you really want to know, I will go ahead answer it for you.”

Clay was surprised and lightly smiled.

Vidri on the other hand clicked his fingers then the room got dimmer. Following which, a holographic image of a human formed not far from them. The 3-D image did not look anything especial except for its 3 pairs of black wings.

“The ultimate objective of the experiment is to find a way to counter a Seraphim Magi of Nosfera Army. Their stygian wings look ordinary but when it comes in contact with Dao, it creates a domain that would magnify a Magi’s power a hundred times more powerful, enough to simultaneously kill three 2ND Phase Peak Divinity experts.”

Clay was dumbfounded with what Vidri just said. This is the second time he is hearing about these types of mages and he did not know how powerful they actually are.

He already has an idea how strong Divinity experts are just by basing on the strength of the mysterious cultivator who wanted to kill him and he only survived through luck. So how much more powerful do Peak Divinity experts get? And to say that three of these Peak experts can easily be crushed by a Seraphim Magi is just absurd.

Clay is tempted to ask a more direct question about Nosfera but recalling how he asked his question back at Ramdaman base at Ramdaman Star System of the Lower World(Chapter 174), he needed to be careful and must ask questions like he has no knowledge about anything.

Since Vidri like elaborating his answers, he will throw basic questions for now.

“Why is the image of the Magi you have presented a human? As far as I know, our race is the weakest of all cultivators be it Mana or Spiritual Qi aspect.”

Vidri waived his hand to control the holographic image at the center.

“It’s because all Seraphim Magi’s known to date are all humans.”

“And why is that?” Clay immediately asked to show interest.

“The natural laws of this universe dictate that the highest level a mage can get is Rank 9 Magi. Their strength is similar to a regular Rank 9 Ascendant that is, if we exclude Dao.

However, since the fall of Ukacha Empire millions of years ago, a new rank of Mages came to existence.

It is still unclear how they gain their powers but it is certain that they are incorporating themselves with Divine Qi using an unknown medium known as Corrupted Essence Flame. They achieve balance similar to how Goblins maintain their powers but unlike Goblins with short life, they have very long lifespans.

From countless observations, to achieve this balance of Qi and Mana, the lesser circulation nodes the better. So beings with the least amount of circulation Nodes like humans are perfect candidates.”

*Exhale

*Tick!

A faint sound was created as Vidri placed his empty cup on a white platter. “I am actually not allowed to answer any questions regarding Nosfera as they are all classified but since it is part of our deal, I advise you to ask the specific information you wanted to know about them. Otherwise, I will answer your second question and call it a day.”

Clay tapped his index finger on the table and looked at Vidri. He thought Vidri would allocate time to answer all his questions but he just realized how wrong he is. He planned on making this conversation casual and properly ask his questions however it looks it is inevitable that he will be in trouble if he gathers more information about them.

He wanted to stop now to avoid repeating the same mistake but he may not have another chance like this.

“As you may already know, I hail from the Lower World and the reason I came here to the Upper World is because I am following the path of Flame Emperor Rimar. My only clue is following the trail of Nosfera. I have no more questions if this friend is kind enough to disclose any information this galaxy may have of him if there are.”

Clay had no choice but to let this opportunity slide. Once he gets stronger and is able to fight head on with Divinity experts, then there is no need to be careful. For now, he will make it appear that he is just a random itinerant cultivator aiming to become a peerless Alchemist.

“What do you know about the Five Temples of Ukacha?” Vidri suddenly asked.

A few wrinkles formed on Clay’s forehead with the sudden question and replied, “Not a clue.”

*Mrgghhh

Vidri cleared his throat and said, “It’s a long story but 80,000 years ago, Flame Emperor Rimar came to visit our galaxy. As a Half-Step Immortal and a 3RD Phase Dao practitioner, couple that with his ability to refine 5-Star Tier VII pills, he is an existence not to be messed with.

He made a deal to concoct ten pills to this galaxy’s Overlords under the condition that he borrows the scientific community of this sector and left a thousand batch of seemingly regular Spiritual Qi Crystals. After which, he left and visited another galaxy.

Since Rimar’s condition was insignificant, the Overlords immediately agreed then later, those crystals were discovered to have a special property to maintain their state even when exposed to lower Subspaces but other that, it has not other uses.

Years passed and Rimar has never been heard of again and was slowly being forgotten however, after 20,000 years, it was then everyone realized the true dangers of Rimar’s condition.

Twenty thousand years passed and the long forgotten demons of the old wake from their slumber. Once again, the nightmares of Nosfera reverberated throughout galaxies.

For millions of years, while everyone knows the sins of a demonic god who destroyed the super galaxy of Ukacha Empire, this god has never again been heard of. And while everyone thought that this god has gone to the Immortal World, his minions woke up and like an army from hell, they came searching for something called Primea Stones, the very same Spiritual Qi Crystals Rimar wanted studied.

War broke out and for the first time, the true powers of Seraphim Magi’s were revealed.

Every galaxy that had been in contact with Rimar had their own heavy losses and luckily, our galaxy was spared.

For the next thousand years, Nosfera caused turmoil and chaos but it was the same time when remnants of Immortal Temples of Ukacha revealed themselves. Gle Isha, Ngapa, Naya, Unkar, Kloatica, each one of them has their own experts in dealing with Seraphims.

With their help, the war ended.

A few thousand more years passed and after countless investigations, it was then everyone was able to see the big picture.”

Vidri waived his hand again and the room got dimmer as another hologram was created. This time, it looks like a starry night sky. Then a second later, the image began to maximize and focused on an area. The magnification was mesmerizing then after a few seconds, it stopped revealing silver lights.

“During the peak of the battle, the Five Temples sent out a separate fleet towards the Ukacha Ruins and after the attack, these 72 white nodes were revealed and can be observed through normal telescope.

If you don’t know what they are, they resemble the nodes of a Sealing Formation of 72 Asura Sword Arts. Whatever they are, the Five Temples seem very interested in them.

Now going back to Rimar, although no one can prove Rimar’s relation to the Temples, it is clear that he was an accessory to lure out the army of Nosfera.

Since everyone are still recovering from their loses, no one dared to move against Rimar.

Now fast forwarding to present, when everyone thought that Rimar’s sect will cease to exist, the opposite happened. After the war, Rimar ascended to the Upper World and left his inheritance to a realm which opens every ten thousand years which even our galaxy would be excited to attend to.

The next opening will transpire 7,868 years and if you want to participate in it, then I may as well tell you to forget about it now. While your Dao is outstanding, Virgo Cluster is quite far and only the best are selected.”

“There must be other methods, right?”

“He he he “Vidri laughed then continued, “You need a ship with a reliable Dao Resonators, a 3RD Phase Dao Aura, and lots and lots of luck. I need to go.”

Vidri got to his feet but before he could turn around and leave, Clay interjected, “Will I expect any more troubles after this?”

“Lutrania values its Dao practitioners but it’s a different story when it comes to dealing with galactic threats. Listen, if our paths crossed again, I promise to treat you to a nice tea.”

Clay watch Vidri left the room.

Deep inside, when he heard Naya Temple, he wanted to ask more if Lord Lao is in their records but his safety comes first. Having heard how Nosfera got a hold of the Spiritual Qi Crystals produced from the Spiritual Veins he left at Kulfagar continent, it was more than enough to satisfy his curiosity.

Originally, he wanted to travel to where Mur Brung ventured so he could gather intelligence about Nosfera but after Vidri explained what Nosfera was after, he may need to change his plans and search for any clues about Lord Lao.

After all, only Lord Lao could confirm the matters of this universe.

“Computer, heed my call if you can hear me.”

(I can hear you Officer Clay, however please know that my ability to disclose information is limited.)

“Locate the closest outpost where competent Crafters can be found. Filter it to locations where Tier VI 3-Stars are always in demand and where itinerant Alchemists are allowed to establish shops.”

(The closest is Lukuwa First Trading City of Lukuwa Planet of Kashmir Star System, home planet of Master Babara, winner of Inter-Star Crafting Competition a decade ago by introducing a new model of Trinity Neutron Railgun.)

Clay got to his fee as well and walked out of the room and head straight to the closest hangar.

Part of Vidri’s promise, he will be escorted to a destination of his choosing.

As he walked along corridors, he would randomly activate his Godly Eyes to observe his surroundings. The moment he finds another Divinity expert lurking in the shadows, he’ll turn around and capture a hostage.

“Has our guest decided got back to return to E-Kelum Star System?” As soon as Clay got a view of a shuttle, a Peak Ascendant greeted him.

“Actually, no. I wish to be dropped off at Lukuwa Planet of Kashmir Star System.”

The Ascendant smiled and replied, “That would take three days.”

“I’m nothing but patient.” Clay smiled back.

“Let’s go.”
