Mantis Stalks the Cicada Unaware of the Oriole Behind
Clay stood at the edge of a gigantic floating rock and observed all the beasts from below.
During the first day when he came to the surface, he had already encountered one of the spatial tears and to his surprise, large burst of Spiritual Qi and Mana came pouring out of the crack. It was no wonder he could not find traces of Spiritual Veins yet the concentration of these energies were comparable to that of inside of a sect.
The other thing that surprised him is the monsters that came out of the crack. At least two gigantic horned anacondas the size of a kilometer and the other distinctive feature are the eight soft skeletal protrusions scattered equally on their back. And lastly, the same reddish color on its skin like the ogre-looking goblin which was hunted earlier.
He wanted to immediately kill and extract their Cores but he stopped himself at the last moment.
It’s true he needed status but he still needed to be careful as being on top may make him a target for someone who wants to be on top. While he was making a decision, he did not realize three days has already passed according to the watch that was sent to him and at that time, the spatial tear closed as well making the Primordial Octapedde crawl back to where it came from.
Just like how a magician would make a rabbit disappear, he was left dumbfounded when the giant snake disappeared into thin air. He immediately activated his Godly Sight and it was thanks to this cheat he was able to predict where the next tear would appear from.
He does not know the mechanisms behind these tears but he could see massive traces of energies when using his special eyes and it was then he accidentally discovered a beast as powerful as that Primordial Octapedde. Its ability to hide is incredibly unbelievable that he did not even feel its presence that only through using his Godly Eyes that he understood.
And that beast is currently the floating rock he is currently standing at.
When he went to investigate the next spatial tear explosion, he noticed that below are a few Goblins living separated from each other and after a few days of observation, he understood that the Goblins in this planet have little intelligence and very territorial.

Around twenty days ago, he was undecided and thought about settling to C-Status, but having discovered this beast, he decided to spice things up.
He had been constantly guiding the direction the floating island towards the next spatial tear and when the time come, he will forcefully wake up the beast in hibernation and have these two monsters fight and killing the Goblins below in the process. When all is done, he will collect either the Goblin’s cores or the Octapedde’s without any sweat.
When all is done, at least explaining he got the A or S-Status through luck should be more than believable.
Clay smiled like a devil. Back on earth, YouTube and streamers are a thing. Had he had this profession, he will probably upload BLACK ANACONDA VS GODZILLA as an enticing title.
Clay’s mind wondered as he observes the changes on a space not far from him. At the same time, he is still impressed as the beast pretending to be an island still has not reacted from the fluctuations of energy.

Clay could already feel the space is being torn. Unlike the forceful and unnaturally tearing of space, lightning bolts are usually created but this time, the space before him is just vibrating.

*Shhhhhhhhh!!!
There was only the sound of wind and the sudden burst of Spiritual Qi and Mana oozing out continuously from the tear. It started like a dot and in a blink of an eye, it has already reached the size of two hundred meters.
Clay was still calm as he is patienly waiting for any signs of monster.
“Where are you? Stop hiding and come out.” Clay murmured to himself.
Clock ticked and he is getting worried however after almost an hour, he suddenly felt a familiar feeling.
Finally.
“Ladies and gentlemen, presenting to you from the blue corner, Black Anaconda.
And from the red corner, your unknown challenger beast, awaken and reveal yourself.”
Clay carefully calculated the arrival of the Primordial Octapedde and at the same time, beneath the sole of his feet, ripples of his aura imbued with the tiniest of his Dao had been delivered to the cores of the beast and he can already feel movements.
“Round 1! Fight!”
Clay jumped out of the floating island and distanced himself from the arena he set. He moved kilometers away towards a real floating island to observe the fight.

*Screee!!!
*Screee!!!
The rocks on top of the mysterious beast slowly fell off and little by little, the image of the beast is being revealed.
*Rawrrr!!!!
*Rawrrr!!!!
Terrifying Spiritual Qi fluctuations radiated as the beast awakens. While few of the monsters on the ground are fleeing, the Goblins as expected held their ground.
“Is that what I think it is?”
When the mysterious beast finally showed its true form, Clay suddenly got a little excited.
“Ladies and gentlemen. A turtle with eight long necks! How rare. Presenting to you, Eight Headed Turtle Dragon!”
Clay watched as the two gigantic beasts confront each other. The Octapedde has coiled on the ground with its eight skeletal protrusions on his back emitting a red hue of concentrated Qi. It hissed as it look above unafraid of the humongous predator.
In the meantime, the Eight Headed Turtle Dragon has just woken up and wanted to look for that thing that forcefully disrupted its slumber but when it opened his eyes, he was greeted with an unknown opponent. Like a man deprived of a peaceful sleep, anger consumed it and made an intimidating roar
*Rawwrrrrr!!!
Ear splitting sound waves infused with horrifying aura reverberated within the radius of ten kilometers.
Clay has already distanced himself yet the pressure seems to have not weakened. Many of the surrounding beasts have already been knocked out and if he did not have his Dao, he would have been swept away like the defenseless and unconscious monster lying on the ground.
After the Turtle Dragon made its intimidating cry, circular mass of lights gathered on all its mouths and after three seconds, all of the heads simultaneously released beams of light that went straight ahead towards the Primordial Octapedde.
The snake created a barrier to protect itself
*Boom !
*Crash!
Despite how impenetrable the barrier erected by the snake, it was still pierced through creating thunderous explosion.
*Rawwrrrrr!!!
Clay rejoiced when he saw the ogre-looking Goblins swept within the explosion.
“Alright! Black Anaconda is down! 1, 2, 3, 4”
Clay ignored the smoke and the dust particles created floating everywhere and while he was counting, he felt multiple tremendous auras are about to come out of the spatial tear.
*Swish!
Without any warning, a dark-reddish object came out of the spatial tear and like a spear that was thrown out, it rapidly approached one of the heads of the Turtle Dragon.
*Rawwrrrrr!!!
*Swish!
*Swish!
While Clay is relaxed and is enjoying the display of power of the two monstrous beasts, another Primordial Octapedde went straight and bit one of the Turtle Dragon’s head.
*Rawwrrrrr!!!
The remaining heads of the Turtle Dragon instinctively bared their fangs as well to ward off the snake that is trying to coil around its body however, after a few seconds, another Primordial Octapedde came out of the spatial tear.
*Swish!
*Swish!
*Swish!
Clay watched at least seven snakes came out of the tear and attacked the Turtle Dragon.
*Rawwrrrrr!!!
*Rawwrrrrr!!!
A helpless cry was heard before the turtle had been completely enveloped and crushed by the joint coiled bodies of the snakes.
*Crash!!
It was not even a minute and Clay saw how snakes teamed up to kill the turtle dragon and when they spread away, only the outer conic shell was left and dropped to the ground like an empty bowl.
*Hiss!!!
*Hiss!!!
Having had their fill, the snakes went back to the spatial tear.
Clay licked his finger after biting the last of the biscuits of his provisions. He wanted to announce the winner of the fight but seeing that his targets were unconscious and injured, he activated wings and approached the defenseless Goblins.
*Grsssh!
Even without using a sword, he willed his aura into the shape of sharp fingers and forcefully extracted the Beasts Cores of the Goblins.
Clay looked at mutilated body of the giant Primordial Octapedde. Its body is oozing out smoke like it had been barbecued. Who would have thought that these top predators all fell down in one swoop from a blast. And who would have thought that the beast who is considered to be on the apex of this world’s cultivation ended up by the savage teeth by a hungry group of snakes?
Clay paused after retrieving the Goblins’ Cores. Not far from his is the Beast Core to qualify for an S-Status. It is truly tempting but however having made up his mind, he propelled himself into the distance and activated his Token.

A World Forgotten
***This story will contain lite-litrpg elements, mainly character pages and a town page. There will also be settlement building and adventuring, missteps and achievements. But one thing it definitely won’t have is a harem. Nor will it have an overpowered MC. Contains mild cursing.*** ***feel free to critique my writing and offer input. This is my first venture into writing. I've always enjoyed litrpg/gamelit books. I feel like I write how I talk, so it may be a little different. You won't hurt my feelings if you see something wrong or out of place! *** ***What follows is a condensed part of chapter 1. Enjoy!*** Drew Cooper is thrust into a new, unfamiliar world. Waking up in his sweats and t-shirt near what seems to be a forgotten path through some woods, he struggles coming to terms that he's no longer in his apartment. As he tries to cope with his new reality, he hears a horse coming down the path. He hides behind a nearby tree dreading what may happen next. As the horse approaches, he sees a man walking next to it. The horse is burdened with packs and gear. When the man nears, Drew nearly panics. He has a large sword strapped to his waist, obviously a fighter. He continues to hide as the man slowly passes only for the man to stop a dozen meters past his hiding spot. "You may as well come out, ya know. You weren't as well hidden as you thought," the man stated matter-of-factly, letting the horse’s reins go and putting his hand on the hilt of his sword. Slowly and scared for his life, Drew raised up and walked from behind the tree. "I-I'm sorry. I wasn't planning on attacking you. I-I don't know where I am. I heard your horse and hid. I didn't know what you'd do if you saw me. I'm sorry," he nervously blurted out. A minute passed. Then two. The man seemed interested with Drew and stepped closer, eyes squinting as if trying to see something. "What's that on your shirt? Is that. What is that? Is that, Pac-man?" The man was visibly shaken while pointing at me. Looking down at his t-shirt nervously, "Yea. Yea. I woke up here a few hours ago I think. 3 maybe 4 hours. I’ve just been sitting here. Where am I? What's going on?" Drew asked. "That's not important right now," the man replied. " What's important is where you're from. What year is it?" "What year? April something 2020. Why? What's going on?" Drew continued now worried. The man was taken aback. After a few moments, he seemed to calm himself some. The man sighed and looked at Drew in earnest. "Well, I've got good news and bad news for ya. Bad news is you're not on Earth anymore. Good news is you happened to run into me and not someone else. You’re either really lucky, or it’s fate we met in these woods, and I don’t believe in luck." The man continued to walk towards Drew while talking and put out his hand. "I'm John Mitchell from St. Louis or thereabouts. You’ve got nothing to be scared of by me. Walk with me and let’s talk."
