《God Must Be Lazy He Allowed a Cultivation Anomaly》69. Dao - 2nd Encounter

An hour after Kle In departed, four powerful cultivators arrived at the village and found Urda kneeling and his head facing the ground with his hands raised and each palm a Recording Crystal and an insect similar to what he gave Kle In.
Urda did not move or utter a word as the domineering auras emitted by these new arrivals indicated they were all at a Nascent Level.
After playing the Recording Crystal, they picked up the insect and left. Urda breathe and sighed in relief. Who would have thought that an innocent young man is being pursued by power houses. Even if he stole the entire wealth of their guild, the strongest person who will probably come after him is a Late Core Formation.
While strength is needed to survive in the cultivation world, cunningness is a different matter. Should he have known, he should have had asked for more gold coins since he almost lost his life on this transaction. At the back of his mind, he hoped that Kle In would be able to retaliate with that unknown power.
Kle In is currently resting on a barren hill. He activated his strength boosted to the 3rd power to fly and covered a vast distance and he felt exhausted after thirty minutes. He switched to his other three meridians but as soon as he ate a pill to recharge the depleted sets, his sight began to blur.
He decided to descend to inspect his body. There is an inexplicable itch creeping up his skin and he could feel as if the bones on his head are moving. When he removed his robe, he noticed the discoloration of his skin has already covered a few centimeters above his nipples and it is slowly spreading towards his biceps.
Unbeknownst to Kle In, four Nascent Soul Experts gained distance and were already floating above him maintaining a five hundred meter distance. Their plan is to weaken and exhaust Kle In from a distance.

One of them summoned five flags which then turned into pillars. If Kle In were to look closely, he would notice the same pillar that surrounded him in the past which he left because he does not know how to operate it. Less than four months ago, an investigation team arrived at the scene and all that was left are four headless bodies and an unattended pillar Formation.
Another Nascent Soul expert from Twin River Sect was involved and upon learning the truth, he disclosed the information to Blood Moon Sect. He only needed to mention a particular youngster was involved in the recent Alchemy Apprentice Offering to get them moving. A few days ago, they received a tip of such youngster and while they were still searching random forests, they received another signal.
Kle In almost forgot and treated his fleeing in levity. He feared turning into the same state like the moribund man who transformed into a mindless beast. He was thinking if he should remove the beast cores from his body and while he was focused, he felt five pillars descended. Before he has a chance to see who set up the formation, the pillars emitted thick bolts of lightning to his direction.
Boom!
Kle In was able to surround himself with Qi Projection on the 2nd power in time. Just when he thought he was safe, five sword Qi attacks suddenly appeared to his sides.
Ksst!
He instantaneously raised his strength to the 3rd degree to protect himself but before it completely activated, two sword Qi projections imbued with Dao Sword managed to penetrate his calf and chest from the back. His mind went into overdrive. He extended his aura. Of the attacks that assaulted him, he felt that the Sword Formation set up above him is the most dangerous.

As he continued to block the incoming attacks, he finally saw the positions of his opponents. He regret fleeing and should have had stayed. Basing on the level of strength of the incoming attacks, he believed that his power raised to the 4th is sufficient to deal with them. Three of his meridians are currently being used to defend and the other three are almost depleted. Based on his estimate, he could use each one alternately to raise his power to the 4th which means he only has three chances to move.
He timed the intervals of his opponents’ big moves.
Boom!
He defended against a Qi Projection attack that looked like a dragon. After the impact, Kle In immediately raised his power to the fourth and generated five tentacles to whip out the pillars.
Boom!
Kle In switch to the 2nd exhausted meridian to support his power raised to the 4th and produced another set of tentacles to destroy the sword Formation.
He was still on a defensive stance, but as soon as the sword formation was broken, Four Qi Hand Projections immediately sprouted from his body grabbing the four susceptible floating opponents. It happened so fast.
Phssk!
All four activated their defensive magic tools. Two were squished to death and one still managed to survive but he looks gravely injured as his body dropped to the ground. The only one who has managed to survive is the sword cultivator but all his limbs were broken.
Kle In released another hand to grab the two survivors but the sword cultivator activated a talisman enshrouding him with light and vanished. The gravely injured opponent only waited for his death.
The attack did not even last a minute before the environment regained its serene silence. If not because of the dust particles and the smoke, no one would think a vicious fight transpired. In the cultivation world, flashy attacks are the least thing one would witness during a life and death situation. The more deadly the attack, the better.
Just like that, three experts who are considered to be on the pinnacle of cultivation fell. If they have had known that Kle In is a rookie, they would have had resorted to underhanded means to capture or kill him like the first Nascent Soul did but died due to an unforeseeable factor.
Since one Nascent Soul expert perished in the hands of an unknown enemy, they all thought they would be dealing with a cultivator with vast experience. Like the first Nascent Soul who died, nescience caused their untimely death as well.
Kle In wanted to escape and find a safe place to recover his injuries but his surrounding turned dark the moment the took another step.

The Oscillation (No Swearing)
It was an average day in Miami—then fractures in the sky appeared. A pulse from those cracks altered the population; some people's biology changed while others received magical and supernatural powers. After the chaos, the political drama ensued, followed by the discovery of portals that brought deadly creatures. They called this event "The Oscillation" and it changed Rachel's life forever. Note: I've received some feedback that people don't like the foul language. This also included my mother, she wanted me to make a cleaner version for her. So, I thought I might as well release it alongside the more explicit version. I went back and rewrote the parts that have profanity in them. ^_^7 Cover Commissioned From Likesac ^_^7

Scorched - The Winter Winds (LitRPG)
Frank Ebner once wanted to save the world. Let the second one be better than the first. On Earth he was a student of... well it hardly matters anymore. It was dying, and he and the rest of his fellows and friends studying how to stave off the end graduated just in time to be told it was too late. That there was not enough time, funds, will, to stop it anymore. That the governments and the worthies of the world had moved from trying to stop it, to surviving the oncoming apocalypse, while blaming each other. That was a world Frank wanted nothing to do with. One riven by wars for places in the Archologies going up, and between them and the dying world they were leaving behind. So when a strange voice offered him a way out, to a world unmarred by the poison killing his? Frank took it. The voyage changed him, made him fit his new world, one of stats and magic. It came with perks, for in passing through their Heavens, they'd been exposed to Divinity, and taken some of the Celestial within them. Heroes now, but there are heroes, and there are Heroes. The nobility of the Empire care only for those who carry blessed bloodlines, and their time to adapt and train up for the new world is limited. Patrons are scarce among those like Frank, with only the base Hero perks, and magic studies expensive and lengthy. Often requiring heavy Oaths to gain the necessary aid to wield mana as a mage. Frank found another way. It nearly cost him his life. Now on the run and burned by the very magic he sought and craved, he is a pilgrim traveling to the The Eternal Tree, font of Perseverance. Frank hopes Ir-karlak will grant him some way to recover from the fires that scorched him. Without snuffing out the embers those fires lit within, for he has learned to harness them and he would not give up magic for the world. *** In the last 21 days, as I update this, I've managed about 18-19 updates. So Scorched should update most days, muse willing. She's fickle, sometimes. Not every day, but most. If there's an update for the day, it will be at 7PM, GMT+2. *[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Actually completed it. :) *
