《God Must Be Lazy He Allowed a Cultivation Anomaly》65. Death Qi and Demonic Cultivators

When magical beasts die, they rot like any dead living organism and return to the earth. Even their beasts cores will slowly decay and dissolved into the air if no plants would take root of its former energy source.
However, there is a strange phenomenon when the decaying body will turn into black gaseous particles that would make magical beasts that come in contact with it aggressive and uncontrollable.
According to ancient records, a particular specie of Elven has managed to discover that incorporating the gaseous particles into their cultivation would make their bodies more resilient to physical attacks and boosted their raw strength at the cost of mercurial and belligerent temperament.
They say that such practice gave birth to demonic cultivation and such practices are prohibited by majority of Elven colonies due to the unstable behavior it causes to their kind. Time passed and humans emerged. Their greed and ambitions knows no bounds.
During the early stages of practice, humans at Early Qi condensation would gain physical strength rivaling a Foundation Establishment Expert. The danger lies after a few months when the cultivators retrogress. They become hungry and insatiable resorting to cannibalism when they cannot find anything to eat. Repositories of antebellum transcripts showed how they were used during battles.
In today's time, a few humans would often resort to such practice. Majority of them are victims of severe violence and atrocities who wants to either take vengeance or sold themselves to benefit their loved ones. Since the gaseous particles only bring death, it was latter named Death Qi and society in general would kill practitioners of the forbidden Qi on sight.
When Kle In saw the leader of the mercenary drew his sword and dashed to strike him, he immediately adjusted his power to the 3rd degree. The leader halted his attack upon feeling the immense strength coming from the Qi Projection hand Kle In summoned. The leader somersaulted backwards, activated his wings and levitated in the air at least fifteen meters away from Kle In.

Kle In was surprised with the leader's action. For a moment he thought he would be dealing with the same level of Sword Qi upon seeing the sword like the young swordsman from the river.
He did not go for the killing move as he saw something he had been yearning to acquire. Kle In felt a few cultivators running towards them so he grabbed the leader and dropped him to the ground and retracted his power.
"I have a few questions and if you do not cooperate, no one will leave here alive. Tell your men to stay away."
Kle In do not know how to utilize his aura to pressure his enemy but the might of his strength boosted to the 3rd power was enough to scare the leader. After a minute, three cultivators appeared.
"Go away. It is only a friendly spar. Those who disobey will not eat tonight."
Seeing the three retreated, Kle In sighed and turned to look at the leader who suddenly kneeled with his head touching the ground.
"This friend. You can have me as your slave. Please young sir, I have a two sons waiting for.."
Kle In interrupted the proud leader who suddenly turned into a pathetic bootlicker.
"You said my symptoms are on its early stages. Tell me about it."
"Young master, the beast transformation from Death Qi usually starts with discoloration below the wrist or above the ankle, but I have no idea why it started from your body. It is probably due to your superior cultivation."
Kle In interrupted again.
"I am quite interested on the levitation technique you displayed."
The leader immediately summoned a book and even removed his spatial ring and meekly offered it to Kle In while on his knees head down.

"It is only a low level technique my lord. But if you allowed me ten days, I will use all my riches to buy you a .."
Kle In took and stored the book into his spatial ring. He then retrieved a sword and stabbed it to the ground beside the mercenary leader before walking away.
"That is the sword of a strong enemy who wanted my life. Let this be a warning."
Kle In had the urge to silence the leader when he was attacked, but seeing the pitiful faces of leader's comrades, he felt an inexplicable guilt. Since they only saw his dirty face and long hair, he trusted that by cleaning himself would make a completely different appearance.
His priority now is to find a safe place to study the levitation spell and head towards the city to gather more information about beast transformation and Death Qi.
