《God Must Be Lazy He Allowed a Cultivation Anomaly》54. Obtaining Power II

Kle In continued to suffer from the unbearable pain running throughout his body. The pain was so intense that even if he were to be tortured like the first time, he would probably not feel anything even if his fingernails will be forcefully removed again. He wanted to pass out, but every part of his body felt liked being burned and there was no sign of stopping.
Every moment felt like eternity.
After a few hours, he just stopped moving. His eyes were lifeless and a drool was hanging on his slightly opened mouth. He was still breathing but every time he exhaled was a faint and hoarse whistling cry indicating his agony.
Kle In did not know how much time passed, but the pain gradually became less intense. He still remained motionless afraid that once he moved, the pain will increase again.
After a few more minutes, the excruciating torment went away.
When he tried moving his head, he thought he was dreaming but when the pain completely subsided, he felt immensely thirsty.
He wanted to move but realized his whole body was tied firmly to a wooden and sturdy chair. Out of instinct, he expanded his Qi to look for water. Since the cell was empty, he checked his spatial rings.
Kle In noticed the bottle of Tapa'y wine. This was originally a gift from an unknown practitioner back at the inn. His need to drink made him ignore how valuable the wine was. With his Qi, he opened the bottle and poured it into his mouth.
The bottle of wine felt like it was only a drop barely satisfying his thirst. Kle In looked again in his spatial rings but he could not find any liquid.
Suddenly, he noticed the blood that oozed out from the headless Horned Flame Lion. He did not have time to be amazed as to how the blood of the beast has not coagulated and in fact was still warm. The size of the beast could not fit his cell and he may be squashed to death if he forced it out so he used his Qi to extract blood whilst inside the spatial ring and used the bottles of pills to store them.

After a few minutes, Kle In estimated he drank around two liters of blood and felt a little alleviated from thirst. Although tied, he could feel his body brimming with energy. He relaxed and inspected his body. He was amazed by the result.
He did not know if he should celebrate or if he should be anxious but a new set of Qi Nodes is now present in his body and the Beast Core being the center. The Qi Nodes were originally six but now, he was looking at a complete set and all of them are opened including the Sub Qi Nodes.
Kle In felt unusually calm and even his mind was clearer.
He was wondering how would he utilize this newly built meridians but his beast core seemed like it was automatically gathering Qi but at a very slow pace. When he tried to guide the flow, the feeling was similar to circulating Qi within his dantian.
The formation pattern within the beast core is following a fire based circulation technique so he did not need to worry which cultivation technique would be compatible.
Kle In guided his Qi cultivation following technique based on fire element and it did not even take him five minutes to achieve Peak Early Condensation Realm with his second meridians.
Since he was tied to a chair, this would be a perfect way to test his power. Kle In summoned a Qi projection using his second set of meridians and tried cutting the ropes but just like his first set of meridians, the ropes did not budge.
He already expected that the individual strength coming from his meridians would not be able to scratch the ropes so he thought of combining them together. Combining the two powers requires a certain level of control and thanks to his perfected and godly Qi control, it did not take long for him to produce a terrifying boosted Qi Projection.
The ropes were cut like tofu.
Even Kle In was made speechless with his newly acquired strength. Kle In freed himself and stood in the middle of his cell.

Before he could think about escaping, he felt his body drawn towards the empty bottles he used to contain the Horned Flame Lion's blood. Suddenly, he felt like he had been starved in a long time.
He could not explain what was going on and the next thing he knew, he made a few cuts of meat on the lion's carcass while inside his spatial ring and brought it out. Although he could feel he could eat the meat raw, his mind was still clear so he placed the cuts into the cauldron and redirected the heat of the Fire Crystal to cook it.
The taste was bland but it was satisfying so he made a few more cuts.
After an hour, Kle In forced himself to stop eating. He estimated that he had already consumed at least six kilograms of meat and even used its blood as water. If this was earth, there should have already been an adverse body reaction, but he felt he could still swallow a few more.
He decided to restrain himself for now. Kle In was made aware of a more pressing matter. He needed to escape and had no time to worry about metabolism and where the food was being processed in his body.
After storing away the cauldron and cleaning the scattered bottles, he sat down and assessed his situation. He still does not know the extent on how powerful he had become but he hoped it would be to free himself from his abductors. While contemplating on strategies he could muster be it current or previous life, when he heard the door being opened.
Creak.
Kle In panicked and his first thought was to tie himself back to the chair. But seeing the ropes were unusable the way he cut it, he decided to sit on the corner. He planned pretend to be meek and launch a sneak attack. Kle In’s situation made him unaware of the minute changes taking place in and out of his body.
When the burly man opened the cell, he was surprised to find that Kle In managed to untie himself and even destroying the rope. He saw the boy trying to hide on the corner.
As soon as he stepped into the cell, he felt a powerful force coming from the boy. He stopped his tracks but seeing there was no around aside from Kle In, he thought it was his imagination.
However the moment he took his second step, he felt something really ominous. He decided to back off and lock the cage for him to observe but the moment he turned around and retreat, a huge hand in the form of Qi Projection grabbed him.
Arrggh!
He felt every bone in his body were crushed and before he could shout for help, another Qi Projection hand squashed his head.
Kle In was panting as he released the disfigured corpse. He was supposed to make his move until the man gets closer but he was so nervous and excited he could not hide his killing intent. It was good that he was able to grab the man before it could leave the room.
The burly man looked like a pulp and blood is scattered on the floor and even brain matters were splashed on the wall near the door. He did not feel anything after killing this man and in fact, he felt satisfied he was finally able to exact vengeance.
The scene was disgusting and Kle In clenched his teeth and slowly breathes to avoid puking as he walked through the door. Before he could step outside the cell, he noticed a ring on the man's hand.
Kle In retrieved the ring from the man's hand thinking there were items he could utilize for his escape. However, when he tried to insert his Qi, there was no reaction. Kle In realized there was a Blood Layering applied on the ring take him time to erase it.
He stored it for now.

The Orb Weaver Chronicles
"The Orb Weaver Chronicles contains several major and unique events that may or may not unknowingly intertwines with one another. The author of these chronicles is unknown, although some have hinted at the symbolism behind its name..." - Year unknown, location unknown 9 February 2022 Update: Welcome to the companion short story compilation of my novel trilogy The Shadow Paradigm. This compilation features prequels, sidequels and sequels to the novel's major plotline, as well as featuring a wide range of characters, new and recurring. Prior knowledge of the novel is not necessary as the Orb Weaver Chronicles' short stories are standalone. Once called The Arkesyyan Chronicles, I've deleted quite a few of its old stories. Due to the new avenue and revision, oriented toward more mystery and film-noir ambience, that I took my stories into, I've removed all aliens and overly sci-fi aspects of the whole TSP lineup, so I've updated the Orb Weaver Chronicles accordingly. I hope you enjoy them, and in time, a revised version will also be updated.
