《God Must Be Lazy He Allowed a Cultivation Anomaly》49. Schemes that Got Together V

The companion of the Elven Nascent Soul Expert extended his divine sense to survey the area. He could not find anything suspicious nor any trace or presence of another powerful cultivator.
The only thing he found was an Earth Class essence flame on its preservation state and another flame that is currently sealed. He did saw the boy who was meant to be a sacrifice but other than that, he could not find any other helpful clue, not even the Horned Flame Lion.
He picked up the limbs which were still warm and dripping with blood and stored it in his spatial ring.
His priority now was to retrieve the unattended Formation Pillars and retreat. Although he still did not have a full grasp of what was happening, he could be certain that his master was not reckless to abandon a plan which they invested in for decades.
By the time he began walking, he felt a faint killing intent. As a Peak Late Core Formation Expert with vast battle experience, his sensitivity towards danger is extremely refined. Earlier when he surveyed the area, he did not find anyone, and if the person was hiding, it can only mean a weaker or an opponent of the same strength. Nascent Soul cultivators would not bother hiding. Unsure where the opponent is lurking, he pretended to walk towards the Essence Flame he sensed earlier.
When he was a few meters away from the flame, a fast and deadly sword Qi attack came slashing towards him to his side. He was ready but was not expecting the speed of that offensive and lethal strike. He used his left hand to defend.
"Swish!"
The attack penetrated his defense Qi and even ignored his gauntlet. A deep cut was made exposing the bones on his hand. Demonic cultivators are known for their impenetrable skin and defenses, but this attack disregarded what he had always been proud of. He activated a talisman and a white thick smoke swiftly covered a small area surrounded him.

After two seconds, he jumped out of the smoke and released a fire bolt to the area where the sword slash originated from.
Boom!
A man jumped out and evaded the attack as he revealed himself. He was none other than Mii Eit who had been sneaking patiently. Originally, he was confident he could eliminate the Core Formation Experts who abducted Kle In by setting up traps, but he witnessed them slaughtered by another party.
He was about to retreat when he felt that a lightning tribulation was about to descend. Unwilling to not reap any benefits given the strength of this new enemy, the least he could do is gather concrete proof as to who the enemies were and sold the information later.
As he was getting closer, a fog released by the Defensive and Isolation Formation set up by the Elven Nascent expert activated blocking his ability to sense anything further beyond one hundred meters. He remained on his spot and did not dare move as the slightest mistake would mean death to him.
After a few minutes, the fog slowly dissipated, and the tribulation clouds dispersed, and he could not feel or find traces of the Nascent Soul expert. On top of that, the magical beast was nowhere to be found as well. While he was investigating the area, the companion of the man arrived.
Upon seeing the Core Formation expert up-close, he was surprised and could not believe that Elvens were involved.
"I was merely passing by and did not mean to offend this friend.” Mii Eit wanted to convince the other party as he prepared to leave and escape. While he could fight head on, he was not confident he would come out victorious seeing the other party was able to block his sneak attack.

The companion of the Elven Nascent Soul did not say anything and released his Qi infused with killing intent to pressure Mii Eit. Then shortly after, he rapidly dashed mid air to attack him. A huge claw made of Qi Projection suddenly appeared before him.
Mii Eit summoned a shield to defend.
Clang!
Right after defending, he immediately released formation flags, but as soon as he tried activating them, something grabbed his neck from behind. Mii Eit panicked and tried to strengthen and reinforce his neck.
Krrt!
Mii Eit's head was separated from his body as his neck was crushed with brute force. As his head was falling, he saw a hideous zombie before everything went dark.
When the companion of the Elven Nascent Soul activated the smoke talisman earlier, it was to create a subterfuge to summon this fiend. After a few tricks to draw the attention of Mii Eit, the sneak attack was made. He wanted to capture the man for interrogation, but his opponent was able to injure him despite his defenses. Such people are not ordinary and will surely have trump cards.
While searching the body his enemy, he felt a powerful aura approaching swiftly from afar. He looked at the Formation Pillars and estimated it may take a few minutes before he could properly deactivate the restrictions and may not have time to escape. He can only leave it behind.
He flew towards the area where they killed members of the Blood Moon Sect and threw away the headless body Mii Eit. He attacked the nearby surroundings in an attempt to plant evidence. Though it may not be convincing to show that the fight broke between these parties, at least this should help clear their involvement. He then took a talisman out from his ring and broke it. He was shrouded by light before completely disappearing.
