《God Must Be Lazy He Allowed a Cultivation Anomaly》43. Thin Line Between Instinct and Paranoia II

It has been an hour and the Core Formation Expert was still waiting outside. Cultivators on his level are considered elders and with his status, he has been around Alchemists and Formations Masters in the past and he knows when a genius is producing a treasure.
While there is no assurance he can get along well with this mysterious master, the least he can do is to make a good impression of their sect as a whole. What he does not understand is why an expert of such caliber would not set up any protection as if deliberately wanting to let everyone know he is on to something. Since it is an inn, he walked towards the counter to ask.
"I wonder who is the esteemed master currently renting the residence two blocks to the right?"
The woman at the counter saw the robes the man and determined he was not ordinary and certainly wealthy just basing on the quality of his clothes.
"Respected master, we received those two guests just this afternoon and the guardian of the kid has left and will be back this evening. If you have business with them, maybe you could enjoy some tea while waiting?", the woman replied respectfully and intentionally showing her bosom.
The Core Formation Expert released a bit of his aura then took ten gold coins and slide it towards the woman.
"Is it possible to accompany one of your staffs for a room service for those guests? It is very important to me. Be assured I will not cause trouble."
It is not rare to see powerful cultivators behave all for the sake of building good relations to a skilled craftsman.
The woman smiled and immediately called one of their staffs. She just realized how strong this man is and may bring havoc if denied of his request. Since it is getting late, there should not be any issues knocking and pretending to care for their guests so she agreed without further hesitation.

Kle In was lying on his bed. After carving the formation on the parchment, he stored it in his other spatial ring. He wanted to give the formation a try but changed his mind the last second.
His last memory when he died was walking on a crowd of zombies towards the formation. When he was far away, he could see sparks of lightning randomly generated towards the sky where the red hue light is pointing being the Formation as a source. Based on the readings of the machinery Federal Science Agency built, they have come to a conclusion that it was similar to the research they have been conducting which was tearing the space. Testing it here may bring unprecedented results even though it was an imitation.
The materials he used were able to create a subspace so there is no question that the formation he inscribed may do the same. He does not have any other facts to support it but assuming it does open a portal to space, is he even equipped to survive and come back alive? He can only set it aside and will continue to study it in the future. While he was drowned in his thought, he heard a soft knock on the door and woman saying room service.
Kle In wanted to wait for his master so they could eat dinner together as a show of respect so he went to the door to send the hostess away for now. When he opened the door, he was surprised to see the woman has company.
"My name Mii Eit, an elder from Violet Sword Sect. I was only passing by when I felt ripples of his esteemed master forging a treasure. I noticed there was no Isolation Formation set up around but I already set up one to avoid his esteemed master of being disturbed. If there is something I can be of assistance with, please do not hesitate to command this friend."

When Mii Eit was approaching the door, he did not need to spread his divine sense to determine there was only one person in the room. Furthermore, when the door was opened, he could almost see everything inside the room's interior. There was no other person but only a boy.
He is confident that no one has ever come out from the house specially that he himself had a formation flag surrounded the residence. Even a powerful Nascent cannot escape his perception if it was at a close distance. Unless the master is using an artifact, so he decided to be still respectful.
"This respected sir. You may have the wrong person but if you are looking for my master, he left this afternoon and should be back soon. ", Kle In kowtowed with his fist as he replied. Upon activating his divine sight, the man showed a powerful cultivation level. He still has little idea as to what is considered treasures in the cultivation.
If it he was concocting Tier II pills, he may have say it was him but he did not feel anything peculiar from inscribing the Formation earlier. Besides, he has never really had someone to compare to in terms of Alchemy or Formation and the last time there was, he was deemed worthless compared to his Buaki Brothers.
"Then I must apologize for having disturbed this little friend. Please accept this bottle of Tapa'y Wine as my apology. It should help growing cultivators like you."
Mii Eit is certain there is no one else around, but he was still careful and acted safely. Aside from the possibility that the expert is hiding, the other possibility is that the boy is hiding a treasure. If it turns out to be the latter, he could just steal it. To act sincere and convincing, he gave up a precious bottle upon seeing that the boy has low level spiritual affinity.
"We will meet again if fate allows."
Mii Eit kowtowed. His friendly intentions turned sinister in an instant. Upon leaving, two tiny ants fell from his wrist. Kle In was unaware but one of them crawled up to his pocket and the other one to the ceiling.
Kle In sent the hostess away as he decided to wait for his master.

I post at least once a week. I cannot promise you a story you enjoy reading, but I can promise you a story I enjoy writing. Thank you. ------------------------------------------ The sword is greater than a simple weapon; an answer to life's questions. An extension of thine master's hand, guided by wrist. Care it not whether guilty or innocent blood shed, for be it a mere edge, a weapon. For blade that forgets or refuses to cut be shameful, meaningless, disgraceful. Nay, be it considered a tool at all? What dost the weapon do when the steel hath no guide, that the master hath mingled far? Doth it Stay? Perhaps quiver at possibility, the loss of reason for existence? Or does it go forth into the unknown, guided by merely the wind and the edge? A wandering sword, a phantom blade- A lone Samurai. ------------------------ Credit to Nicklas Gustaffson for the image.
