《God Must Be Lazy He Allowed a Cultivation Anomaly》34. Qi in Fauna III

Kle In felt weak when he regained consciousness. He tried to get up and sit against the wall. He did not mind the drool on his face and tried to look around. His last memory was scattering bottles of pills in his attempt to fend off the enraged rabbits.
He was surprised when he looked around. Six rabbits lay motionless with greenish liquid around them. Half of them have traces of being bitten and dismembered. Kle In is certain all the rabbits are dead. He sat down and meditated to recover his Qi. After a quarter of an hour, he got to his feet. He felt thirsty and hungry at the same time.
He was cautious as he walked down stairs towards the kitchen. While he could not feel any threats, he did not want to be surprised. The first thing he grabbed was a knife. After confirming there was no one around nor did he hear any suspicious movements, he then grabbed towards a box of bread. He was famished after waking up from exhaustion he forgot how tasteless the bread was.
After filling his stomach, he went back upstairs to investigate the dead bodies of the rabbits and find clues as to how they died. Except for the three rabbits with dismembered parts, the rest were still warm.
Kle In felt something was amiss. He grabbed his knife to look around again. Unlike his terrified and panicked state when the rabbits went berserk, he seemed a little composed this time.
He then remembered that his Failed Superman's Eyesight can see through Qi pathway which is the basic of cultivation. Even if someone tampered with his regular sight like the smoke emitted by the rabbits, he could still look at his surroundings and confirm if someone is nearby by activating his magical sight. He poured and circulated his Qi to his eye and probed his surroundings.

Kle In sighed when his divine sight showed no one was nearby although he noticed three of the dead rabbits seem to still have their Qi Nodes and Beast Cores lit up and on the verge of completely dimming.
Kle In observed the beast cores up close. He remembered the gathering formation in the middle but now it just looked like a crystal encasing nothing. Seeing all the mess, Kle In stored the dead rabbits into his spatial ring and began to tidy up.
After a few minutes, he went to the backyard and dug a space enough to bury the rabbits. Before covering them with soil, Kle In got curious and pulled out his knife. He dissected the three rabbits to retrieve their beast cores. He has never seen one and these samples might help him in the future.
If this was back on earth and someone accidentally spotted him, he would be reported to the authorities. He scattered a few grasses in an attempt to cover their graves.
Kle In could not stand the lingering scent from the smoke the rabbits emitted which felt like it fused with his sweat and dried on his body so he took a bath before going back upstairs to his Alchemy room.
He placed the cauldron to its original position. He was worried that it was damaged during the fight. He had recovered a bit of strength and was sufficient to concoct Qi Sensing Pill, enough to test the cauldron.
When he was about to retrieve a set of ingredients, he suddenly remembered the pills he threw on the floor were all missing including the bottles.
He grabbed the knife again without thinking. Now that he thought about it, when cultivators eat pills beyond what they could absorb, they risk the chance of being crippled. To magical beasts though, they would implode explaining why the beast cores he saw earlier looked like an empty case.

However this does not explain the missing pill bottles and lastly, there was a total of seven rabbits but he only buried six.
He got up to his feet and carefully approached the underground cellar. This was the only room he did not check. When he was at the door, he activated his Failed Superman's Eyesight. Four sets of Qi Nodes greeted him. Kle In guessed it was the mother rabbit and her three kittens.
He slowly opened the door and immediately, traces of pill essences came out.
Kle In saw two damaged cages on two floor indicating it was forcefully broken. This must had caused all the noise. He turned to the third cage where the mother rabbit was placed. It was still in good shape, though there was a hole enough for the beast to crawl out.
Right beside the cage, there was a pile covered in grasses and pill bottles. Kle In now understood who gathered the pills. Kle In looked into the pile and noticed that the pills seemed to be covered in some kind of fluid to keep the pill essences from oozing out.
The kittens were still hairless like yesterday, peacefully sleeping with their mother. Having witness how dangerous magical beasts are, Kle In was conflicted whether he should get rid of them now. He activated his Failed Superman's Eyesight again to determine the cultivation level of the mother. He planned to feed them with the sleeping powder and ask someone to release them outside.
Kle In felt relief after confirming the mother rabbit had not broken through Mid Qi Condensation. Although he was surprised it did not recklessly ate the pills like the rest. It probably is motherly instinct that it did not went berserk and forcefully broke the cage but instead carefully made a hole to not disturb her children.
Before he could reach out to the box of Galis’a powder, he was suddenly attracted to the Qi Nodes of the kittens. Not only did it get brighter but it seemed to have increased.
Kle In observed them again in detail.
He smiled after a few minutes. The kittens have acquired Bloodline Qi Nodes.
“Maybe acquiring Bloodline is actually possible.”
One thing that puzzles him though is the locations of the newly acquired Bloodline Qi Nodes
Assuming that the starting Qi Nodes is the closest to the Beast Core, and considering the mother rabbit as an example, the position of Bloodline Qi Nodes fall at 5th, 10th, 18th, and 31st.
The acquired Nodes on the other hand are located on the 3rd, 8th, 16th, and 29th. What's more is that the original junction he saw before which looked like a prior location of another beast core is now lit up as well when it was barely noticeable yesterday.

The voice inside his head, the thing that influences his thoughts, the monster that he wish was gone, the devil inside his heart. This is a tale about connections. NOTE: The story will be slow for many of the chapters and the time will also match it, ex: goes by day by day. The time mostly will be used for introducing and adding to characters. It won't pick up until somewhere in the twenties but there will be action and events earlier on such as the missions. Just a fair warning. Order of Phantasmal Architects

T.R.E.E.S.E.K.A.I. follows the story of a dryad in a frontier town, watching civilizations get born, thrive, and die on her roots, under her branches. This is more of an ongoing scratchpad of writing experimentation rather than a cohesive narrative so I might do weird things with it from time to time.
