《God Must Be Lazy He Allowed a Cultivation Anomaly》30. Trade

It has been a week and a half since Kle In stared refining Foundation Establishment Breakthrough Pills. Yesterday was the fourth batch. He clearly remembered he only needed to surrender a total of five pills not five sets of ingredients. He currently has nine High Tier Pills.
He still does not understand why the Tier II Alchemist he saw on the crystal recording nor Alchemist Agda could not concoct High Tier Pills like him. He suspects they were not displaying their true capabilities. Having met beyond his quota, he decided to give Deacon Sar Aran a visit.
Before Kle In could step before the gates of the guild, someone already received and led them to Sar Aran's office. Like usual, Sar Aran prepared them tea.
"It was not easy refining these pills", Kle In said as he placed two bottles containing three pills each.
Sar Aran took the bottles and opened the lid. He used his Divine Sense and Qi to block the pill fragrance from leaking out as he probed the pills. He was expecting Mid-Tier Pills but upon confirming it was High Tier, he instinctively stored it in his spatial ring and probed around the room to make sure no one else was around.
There were many things running through his mind. While they are allowed to purchase pills Kle In sells, they should not in any way initiate a trade. On that day after learning that Kle In will probably become a sacrifice, he still asked the consent from an elder, but he was advised he could only do this once. Greed is slowly taking over him especially the extra sixth pill. As a Deacon for so many years, there were times he was able to embezzle funds, but he never abused it.
Kle In noticed the shift in Sar Aran's attitude. Though he did not know the actual value of Foundation Establishment Breakthrough pill, he may now have an idea how precious they are base on Sar Aran's reaction.

"I am in need of Formation Books, Spatial Formation related books to be precise. I need materials for crafting and if you have recording crystals as well, it would be greatly appreciated."
Sar Aran came back to his senses when he heard Kle In's request. It dawned to him he made a mistake. He should have had confirmed firstly what Kle In wanted in return for refining the pills.
They could easily obtain elemental materials but not spatial. Even wealthy merchants or distinguished factions or sects would not even display them. The biggest problem is the price. The pills are definitely rare but the value would not even come close to Spatial Formation materials. He smiled and hoped to convince Kle In.
"If you need bigger spatial ring, I can easily arrange one for you. However, materials for crafting spatial storage can be a bit tricky. Excluding the rarity of the materials, Major Sects tend to monopolize them making it impossible even for regular sects to procure the items let alone a nameless faction like us. But the biggest issue is the cost. While...”
"I only need you to try", Kle In interrupted as he placed two more bottles each containing 3 pills.
"I want the last pill traded for gold coins."
Kle In got up to his feet getting ready to leave. "I completely respect your time so I do not want to force my presence any further."
After an hour, Kle In left after receiving at least thirty thousand gold coins. The currency used in the cultivation world is Qi Crystals and a Low Tier Foundation Establishment Breakthrough pill could easily fetch a minimum price of ten thousand. Although there is no set of conversation standards from Qi Crystals to Gold coins, as long as the involved parties have no disagreements, then the exchange is considered successful.

Deacon Sar Aran inspected the two bottles when Kle In left. He was being honest when he said that obtaining the items for Spatial Formations was difficult and worrisome but given the quality of the pills he has on hand, he believes they wouldn’t need to beg a sect to convince them for a trade.
On their way home, Kle In was looking at the thirty thousand bank notes he was given earlier. It amazes him that this world does have systems similar to earth like calendar, decimal number system, and now banks. Though it makes him wonder that a civilization could advance on these aspects yet moral standards seem left behind. He handed the bank notes to Aunt Mabna'y for safe keeping.
As they passed a busy street, Kle In noticed a luxurious carriage being pulled by a strange horse looking animal with a shiny dark red metallic scale on its forehead. Kle In could feel a faint aura released by the creature and it felt similar to the aura emitted by Bloodline awakened people he has met and observed. He activated his Failed Superman's Eyesight to observe the creature.
He could not count the Major Qi Nodes the beast had since it is moving, but he noticed it having additional overlapping Qi Nodes similar to Bloodline and interestingly enough, all its Major Qi Nodes were opened.
Kle In was spacing out and did not realize they already arrived at his residence. He went straight to his room and lied on his bed. He wanted to relax and await the good news from Deacon Sar Aran but after seeing the Qi Nodes on that peculiar horse, he wanted to know if Bloodline is something he could acquire through external means. Although he could not fully gauge the factor at which Mabna'y and her daughter has become stronger when they activated their bloodlines, an increase in strength is still an increase and should be helpful to his survival.
He decided to rest for the rest of the day. After dinner, he asked Aunt Mabna'y to purchase two small docile herbivorous magical beasts in pretense of testing pill potency.

Witchbone: The Goblins Winter
Themes found in these stories include friendship, found family, defying negative expectations, trying to figure out how to be a force for good in your corner of the world, doing heroic things even if you don't look or feel like a hero, and that being different isn't necessarily fatal. Summary: A spell of arctic weather. A mysterious death. The reading of a will. Strange tracks in the snow. Eleven-year-old Danny Hallow accepts his life, such as it is. His father is dead, his mother left years ago. His three Keepers are the only people aware of Danny's erratic and not-very-impressive psychic abilities. He has no friends, he's been suspended from school, and he's responsible for the life of a small brown bat that's ended up in his care. When Danny's estranged Uncle Enoch dies under mysterious circumstances, he and his Keepers are called to the town of Eddystone, New Hampshire for the reading of the man's will. Traveling four hundred miles from his dreaded hometown to attend, Danny is happy to get away, possibly inherit something interesting- and maybe find out more about his family while he's there. Arriving at the crumbling family estate of Gnomewood Home, he finds it to be hauntingly familiar, a bit creepy, oddly comforting, and possibly alive. When his uncle's will reveals that he's inherited Gnomewood and everything in it, he's determined to stay and make a happier life for himself in Eddystone, somehow. But at Gnomewood, he finds more questions than answers to his family's secrets. Disturbing old memories come to him in dreams. His psychic abilities begin to grow stronger, and as a result he becomes aware that a horde of cryptic creatures are plaguing the town of Eddystone, seemingly drawn out by the spell of an unusually frigid February. Toothy little goblins that are sneaky, vicious, and hungry. Goblins that take a particular interest in Danny. Will the emergence of the alien, and potentially dangerous, power he's inherited from his peculiar family tree help Danny survive the goblin infested winter, inadvisable attempts to befriend a terrifying boy with silver eyes, and a new school? Only if he learns to control them before they put him and everyone around him in danger. Before they convince some people that he should never have been allowed to exist at all. Before he becomes just another twisted tale in his family's bizarre history, kept hidden for centuries within the ivy-covered walls of Gnomewood Home.

Bear trap (statehumans CalTex)
(This book has nothing to do with furries, otherkins, or irl therianthropes. Both by their own definitions and my own, we have nothing to do with each other. Keep being your weird selves just don't pretend I'm a part of those groups because I wrote this book with animal/human hybrids in it. Any comments trying to talk about furries or otherkins will be deleted because it makes me physically uncomfortable. Therians are ok tho because it's basically the fancy way to say people who have spirit animals)There are two races in this world, humans and therianthropes, which are humans with animal qualities, that can shapeshift into their animal counterpart. The therianthropes, once divided by predator and prey, joined together in hiding after the humans began to hunt therianthropes for sport. California, a young grizzly bear therianthrope, was always curious to see the world beyond the forest he and his people lived within. Texas, a young farmhand, always wanted to catch a therianthrope, believing it would make him the hero of his village after violent massacres and thefts had been performed on it, supposedly by therianthropes. But when these two young men's paths collide, secrets, strange new feelings, and a magical adventure turns everything they thought they knew about the others race upside down.Warnings:- statehumans- countryhumans - the country and statehumans are all kinda just mixed together. There is no obvious separation between state and country, they're all just people - guns- and ships- hunting - idk, vegans?- gay stuff- not super gory, but people do get hurt - maybe death
