《Project Frost : Gate of All》Chapter 60

“Aediva…? What’s that in your hand?”
Everyone conscious in that room immediately felt immense dread from seeing Aediva pulling out a thing from her hoodie’s pocket and even more so with a smirk carved on Aediva’s pretty face. The look of great mischief in her eyes is clear to those who knows what they’re searching for.
“Oh, this? Just some explosive potion I rigged up from the ingredients I found at the lab” Aediva purred innocently as Arthur and Fay goes pale in the face.
“WHAT?!”
“Relax, as much as I’d like to bomb the hell out of this place, it’s unreasonable. It may blow a person up but it’s only able to blow a hole in the wall with a loud enough sound. I don’t exactly have much time to listen much so keep it simple. Who are those people? What are they doing down there? And do you know anything about the weird heebie-jeebies nonsense out there in public view? You got two minutes. Go” Aediva said, sending Fay into panic as she fumbled around.
“W-w-wait! TWO MINUTES?!”
“5 seconds up!”
“We don’t know!” Fay blurted and Aediva tilted her head at the senior.
“What?”
“We don’t know much. But these people aren’t just ordinary people. I’m pretty sure they’re researchers. At least the ones down the basement levels are. The ones outside look more dangerous though” Fay said.
“When did they even appear in this place?” Aediva asked.
“A month back. Although, I honestly never noticed them at all. Suddenly the one night, they seemed to come out of the basement level in large numbers and started placing magic around the dorm areas. That’s what Hanzel told me… He knows about this more than I do…” Fay said, sounding upset about something in her mind. Aediva only stared and suddenly the potion in her hand lit up - or more specifically, the viscous liquid inside the fist-sized bottle lighting up like neon light the colour of beautiful blue.
“Time’s up. How about you get me out of here right now so I can blow some walls up? Unless of course, you’d like it to blow up right here” Aediva said with severe nonchalance while Arthur and Fay flew into complete blind panic.
“WHAAAA---?!”
“Senior! The door! OPEN THE DOOR!!”
Aediva’s eyes trailed after Arthur and Fay rushed to the door and while they’re fumbling around to get the one key leading the closest to the outside world, Aediva played around with the bottle that started to heat up pretty good. For a moment, Aediva honestly thought it’d be a great warmer item. Truthfully she would use it, only if it’s not capable of destroying someone’s body to pieces with its superheated explosive reaction.
“It’s open!” Fay and Arthur simultaneously shout as Aediva goes to the door, feeling a slight draft of wind coming from somewhere when she goes to peek outside at the swirling space that almost looks like the surface of a bubble. She turned around with a smile.

“Try not to die or get caught. Making that charm wasn’t easy you know. I’ll be back for you guys once I’m ready with new toys. Bye” Aediva said as she jumped off the cuboid floating in the centre of the bubble and into the surface of the hypothetical bubble. The moment she opened her eyes, she was greeted with a similar grey brick wall in some hallway in an unknown part of the castle.
One thing is for sure that she is feeling the draft of wind on her face. Hearing the sound of the incoming footsteps, her thoughts of those mysterious group’s ability to sense things happening in that area was confirmed.
“Right. Remember what Blackhorns taught you…” she said.
Magic can be felt and she only needs to follow it to its weakest flow. If the basement is where it's strongest, then the weakest would be outside of the place. Aediva looked at the now fully red liquid inside the bottle in her hand. At that moment, she has a brief moment of gratitude for her body’s abnormal temperature. Even if she hates the cold that never disappears, she loves how she is able to hold piping hot stuff like the explosive potion bomb in her hand.
“There’s the intruder! We found them!”
Aediva perked up when hearing the voices and fast approaching footsteps of her pursuer’s group. A smirk unconsciously formed on her face as she looked at the group at each side of the hallway, all in their black cloaks, red masks and most notably are the batons in each of their hands.
Aediva tilted her head when one of them approached her, still remaining a little far from reach.
“You’re trespassing a prohibited area. How about you silently come along with us and there’ll be no more trouble next” the one guard said with a relatively calm but commandeering voice. Unfortunately for him, Aediva was not willing to listen. She laughed. Although she and Zielle planned to never let them have any sort of information about them, her voice is enough to tell them that she’s a female intruder.
“Ahahaha~ You’re funny. Of course they’ll be no “next time” if I come along with you. You’re gonna kill me” Aediva laughed, noticing the lack of reaction from her pursuers who are effectively caging her in that hallway. She is not dumb, she knows the risk of her actions and the reason why they have that sort of reaction or lack there of.
Regardless whether she is a student or not, she will never get out of there if she gets caught. Feeling the sting of the blistering heat on her palm, she casually threw the bomb-potion to the one who had approached her and triggered a chain reaction of the man screaming in pain as he threw the red hot bottle away and his comrades charging to where she was.

Aediva kicked the bottle away and like the brute she jumped on the kneeling bastard who took her bomb-potion so innocently, and kicked off at least three who had come to close - away towards the brick walls behind them cracking on the impact of their body slam. The bottle landed near the wall with a soft clicking noise and while Aediva was busy mowing down the hallway from her unfortunate opponent who had to deal with her wild rampage, no one noticed the bottle violently shaking until Aediva glanced at the bottle with her argent orbs with a mad grin on her face.
Like a bull, she ran over her opponents like a bunch of bowling pins and grabbed one unfortunate man in the face during her charge before jumping and in the flip, used the man as a shield for the incoming debris from the explosion that no one noticed until it was too late.
BOOM!
That silent night was shaken by a loud explosion as a certain wall crumbled at the left wing of the Efren Dorm castle.
From afar, the one who’s flying on a broom overhead the dorm grounds, a certain female shrieked in horror with the feline monster in her hoodie as they witnessed the whole thing unfold.
“Enough to blow a small hole, my ass!!! She just destroyed the whole wall of that fucking hallway, an elephant could go through that!” Zielle screamed in horror as she descended to the massive hole in the wall that definitely cannot go unnoticed. She saw the silhouette of the perpetrator appearing from the smoke - coughing as she swats the smoke away from her face. Undoubtedly, that rascal had no regret shown on her face as she looked at the people surrounding the explosion site all on the ground and some were stuck at the deep dent in the wall. Horrifyingly enough, some are in a pool of blood and more than just one had their arms visibly twisted in a frightening display of what had occurred, yet the one who seemed to be walking out of the smoke alone is completely pristine with the exception of the smoke and dust stuck to her hoodie.
Zielle honestly do not want to know if they’re alive or not, nor they have the leisure of actually checking on the people involved in the explosion. Aediva wear her hood and hopped on Zielle’s broom.
“Come on. Waste no time and get the fuck out of here” Aediva said with her usual nonchalance. With a drop of cold sweat sliding down her cheek, Zielle sped away from the explosion site and the dorm towards a long winding flight road back to Aval Dorm.

And not to their relief, the first sight that greeted them was a surprise though an unwelcome one. They spent about an hour or so going here and there into and out of the vast forests that encompassed the large school compound in order to avoid anyone from trailing them back to where they are staying yet someone already waits for them at the entrance of the mansion.
A scowl appeared on Aediva’s face as Zielle also turned wary the moment they stepped to the ground. The broom disappeared from Zielle’s hand. At that moment, Zielle turned to Aediva.
“Is that…”
“Efren Vice Dorm Leader. Hanzel Beryls” Aediva said, even before Zielle could finish asking. A frown formed on Zielle’s forehead.
“Do you think he found out?” she asked Aediva.
“It’s possible. Come on” Aediva said as she walked towards the dorm and as she expected, Hanzel stopped her with his body, closing their distance so his whisper is clear in her ear.
“I know it’s you that caused the explosion. There’s no sense in trying to hide things anymore. I need your help” Hanzel said, his face looking impassive as ever. Aediva let out a sigh.
“You better explain everything,” Aediva said.
“I plan to do so. Don’t worry about people trailing you. Those people don't stray far from the dorm area” Hanzel replied with certainty in his voice. The silver-eyed female eyed Zielle who also looked at her, already hearing what that young man was saying.
“Fine. But any funny stuff and I don’t guarantee you’ll walk away fine” the warning in Aediva’s growling voice was clear and for a moment, Hanzel shudder at the transparent fear he felt deep within his guts as Aediva walked past him with Zielle at her side.
Hanzel fixed his glasses, inhaled deep and turned around. Hopefully Daniel would be preoccupied with the explosion and not search him for the time being…
The young man from Efren Dorm looked at the entrance door of Aval Dorm closing after the two girls entered and left him behind to ponder to himself as he looked at the one phone he had been keeping a secret from everyone in the dorm.
“Right, let’s hope you’re right about that girl, Fay. If not then I honestly had no other idea on how to stop their plans…” Hanzel said. With a resolute mind, he turned around and opened the door to Aval Dorm where the girl whom he thought could at least have a decent chance of actually ruin something in Ms. Rachel’s plans for Orbelesia Grace.

Author's note: You are reading a first draft, written mostly while drinking cheap whiskey. Expect it to read like hot garbage and I guarantee that it’ll meet your expectations. I’m a storyteller, not a writer - there’s a huge difference between the two professions. IMPORTANT! This story is told in a first-person limited, conversational style, with Emmett occasionally breaking the 4th wall and addressing the reader directly. This means that YOU and Emmett may have absolutely no idea why stuff is happening, because there will be little or no exposition or other POV's. Read the comments for spoilers, ask questions if you want to know something. This work incorporates blended aspects of Xianxia, Wuxia, Super powers, and Western Magic into a post-apocalyptic fantasy adventure. It is none of those things and all those things, mashed together. The MC is Over Powered, but so are many, many others. He just hasn't met them yet. Dear Student, What follows is an adaption of the diary of Emmett Carter before his Ascension. While the decades during and after the Aurora Apocalypse are lost to us, the Ascended himself has allowed us to publish this work so long as we warn the reader that it may not be entirely accurate or present an unbiased viewpoint of the events. One should also note that the Aurora was in flux during that time and some things that were possible in the early days are no longer possible, especially with the advent of the Akashic record. Editors have included footnotes when possible to explain pre-aurora technologies or concepts and how they relate to current magical technologies. The contents of this work may upset readers. If you’ve ever been in a natural disaster, had a house fire, witnessed a murder, lost a loved one to violence, or have a strong opinion on the sanctity of life, please do not read this. It contains dramatic scenes of a world in the throes of an apocalyptic event. There are no rainbows and unicorns, only loss, uncertainty, and death while the survivors struggle to rebuild their lives. Updates Thursdays and Sundays for now. Word count is about 2000 ~ 4000ish per chappie.
