Book 3 Chapter 12: Passing Through The Bridge
Keeping to himself Lintian quietly listens to the voice that echoed throughout the extremely large room.
At this moment, a deep voice sounded in everyone’s ears. This voice was calm and rough but did not have any human emotions, resulting in it sounding like the grunting of a dragon. “Everyone has one chance. Cross through the bridge in less than the time it takes to burn one incense stick.”
Isn’t this a bit too easy? Lintian thought to himself. This incense stick will take about half an hour to burn. It would take him less than a minute to run this distance.
All seventeen individuals in here were silent as they thought this trial couldn't possibly be this easy.
“Che if this is that test might as well get it over with then.” The youth that was complaining earlier said loudly.
There was a line before the bridge and the moment he crossed it a timer appeared on his back that was counting down from 30 minutes.
When he took 20 steps across the bridge the complaining youth froze. He then began to walk forward again. At the half way everyone could see that the youth was sweating a river. His veins nearly popping out. Each step he took was harder than the next.
“Trash,” Lintian heard a girl whisper to her friend.
This girl looked to be about 5’6 but her cultivation seems to be half a step away from being in the King’s realm.
She steps onto the bridge too and began to leisurely walk across bridge. In 3 minutes she was able to pass the previous youth without breaking a sweat. Then near the end she too began to walk significantly slower but she still manages to pass easily. Her hand began to glow everyone saw a mark appear on her arm. It was a yin yang symbol.
After that one youth after another began to run across the bridge.
Lintian was the last to begin. As he steps onto the bridge he noticed an extremely weak pressure pushing down on him. The further he walks the more the pressure increases.
At the half way area Lintian felt like the weight of the world was crushing down on him. He also noticed something else. This pressure wasn't just affecting him physically but internally too.
With this pressure I might be able to break through to the third stage of the Master realm Lintian thought. Lintian sat down and began to attempt his break through. With the help from the pressure it made condensing the qi in his body many times easier.

After a little bit Lintian notices that the pressure wasn't strong enough for him to break through. He got up again and walk two third of the way and set down again. This time the pressure was enough to kill a second stage Master realm expert but to Lintian it was still bearable.
The qi in the area began to condense around him and entering into his dantian.
“Is this kid crazy?” someone asks.
“I think he is attempting a break through right now.”
“From the density of his qi it seems he is only in the second stage attempting third stage.”
“What the hell? A stage two challenging this trial is basically courting death. No wonder he is attempting to break through to stage 3. Not a bad move considering the pressure from the bridge will make condensing his dantian qi easier.” Someone analyzes
Swoosh!
In less than a minute Lintian broke through to the third stage of the Master realm. With this break through pressure from the bridge decrease significantly.
With this break through Lintian knows he won’t be able to break through to the fourth stage for a while. His body surges with qi as he sprint the final distance like he was marathon runner.
With each step the pressure increase by .08 of a percent from the previous pressure. Meaning by the end of this the pressure would be 68 times the current pressure.
Out of the 17 people here only 10 made it through. They were all in the tenth stage and was about to break through to King’s realm with the exception of Lintian.
Unlike the other people Lintian’s received 10 Yin Yang symbols.
This caused others to glare but they also know that the pressure Lintian has to face was at least 10 times more difficult then them. To them this pressure was almost a joke.
The metallic voice sounded out in their ears again. “You have pass the pretrial. From now on the real trial begins.”
A door suddenly appears before them and opens up. The ten youths looks at each other and enters through it.
They appear before a new area. It was like a scene from hell. They were standing in the middle of a vast plain. Around them were thousands and thousands of monsters. Imagine an army of ants and you were about their size too.
There were trolls, ogres, rhinos, wolves, chimeras, tigers, snakes, insects, and all sorts of wild beast that surrounded them. The worst part is all their cultivation were at least at the sixth realm combined with almost an impenetrable body.

Just seeing this scene gave these 10 youths a sense of despair.
There were also 5 orbs of light of bright light. 10 miles alway from them.
“Reach the light! Kill at least ten thousand! Only 5 will pass and the rest will fail!” the voice commands.
Lintian didn't not even think as he fuses one of the dantian to increase his cultivation to the fourth stage and used his third dantian as a reserve.
All the other youth charges out of their protective barriers and began a massacre on these demonic beast.
Lintian activated his Dragon eyes and notices something peculiar. While all of these demonic beast were in the sixth stage there were also some at the ninth stage and out of this whole mass of demonic beast there was 10 that we in the king’s realm guarding the five lights.
Two swords appears in his hand as he also ran out.
The 9 other youths were blasting out attack after attack causing massive about of damage. They were creating crater after crater. Balls of fire and ice raining down.
Lintian took a slower approach as he was conserving as much energy as possible. Each attack was calculated as he aim for the demonic beast’s brain and heart. Regretfully he didn't have the time to collect all of these demonic cores.
Even through they were killing nonstop their kill speed was only 1 per second because they were have to conserve their energy incase their competition attacks them too. The most dangerous part of this trial was not the demonic beast but the other cultivators.
Lintian kept himself in a low profile by not launching any fancy attacks. It was simple, fast, and efficient. He would avoid any demonic beast that has a shell.
Lintian would directly stab the sword through the eyes to reach the brain or through the mouth. Since those areas has the least amount of defense.
After the first 10 minutes some of the youths notices that launching out strong attacks were not the most efficient way and began to use their strong bodies to directly smash and kill the demonic beast.
Not all of them can be like Lintian and make a sword out of qi.
After two hours all 9 of these youths were close to clearing out ten thousand demonic beast each.
Lintian was only at around eight thousand. This is because for each demonic beast they kill a number would magically rise in their brain so they know what the current count is.
Furthermore Lintian’s qi went from full to half in these two hours.
The girl that was the first too pass the bridge test wasn't even sweating from this. She still had 9/10th of her qi. This made Lintian think highly of her because even if she was a half a step away from breaking through to the King’s realm for her efficiently kill these without wasting half her qi was already really amazing.
The other cultivator who was just as amazing was a gorilla size youth who was using his body to kill these demonic beast. The other 7’s qi was around 7/10th of their original strength.
One of the male youth finished killing all 10 thousand of the demonic beast and began to charge toward the light.
His action made 8 cultivators smirk as one of the youths release two beams of sword lights at him. While Lintian just calmly went about his massacre while taking as many demonic cores with him as possible.
Lintian’s action made the other 9 cultivators look at him in pity so far. Thinking this boy is so poor, or sigh and think secular cultivators these days.
The youth calmly deflected the sword lights but in the next instance a lion the size of an elephant with a flaming mane attacks him when he got close to the light orb.
This youth panics and in the second he was swatted like a fly onto the ground. Receiving a tremendous amount of internal and external injures. The other demonic beast swarms him and in seconds all that was left of him were his bones.
Such a crude scene caused everyone to frown and reformulate a better plan of approach.
Lintian was stun by the outcome but wasn't entirely afraid of it since he has already formulated a plan to pass.

The Genre of My Life Was Randomized?
The wheel spun and the genre changed. In every chapter, a new canvas made up of a thousand words was formed. I, the creator, do not know the future of this novel. I, the author, is but a mere slave that writes and creates what the wheel has given. What would happen after? What fate awaits the main character? When would you encounter the next chapter? Besides the latter, only the wheel could answer. Author's Note:Salutations dear reader. I'd like to dissuade you from reading this novel due to the following facts: 1. I am an amateur/new/beginner writer so it could be said that I don't know what I'm doing. 2. This novel is something which I wrote in order to hone my skills in adaptability, creativity, and writing in of itself. 3. Every chapter was made after spinning a wheel with the genres: Action, Horror, Romance, Comedy, Fantasy (as of writing) twice. The genres then would be showed in the chapter through theme, part of the story, flow, character, or whatever man idk. In case the wheel would show the same genre twice, the chapter itself would have the result as the main theme of the story with the other genres being free to use in order to fully show the theme. 4. I'm basically yoloing the story, trying to make sense of it even with the randomness of the current and future chapters; I swear I'm not a masochi.. *ahem* moving on, a variable left by the previous chapter won't suddenly just disappear because the next chapter doesn't have the same genre as before, meaning if a character that fits a genre was shown on let's say "Chapter 1", said character wouldn't just disappear or cease to exist for no reason at "Chapter 2" or the following chapters just because the character doesn't fit the genres. To make it short this isn't a collection of short stories but one big story instead. 5. Etc.
