Book 3 Chapter 2: Information
Lintian shots out of the bed gasping for air. The last thing he remembers was being knocked out.
“I’ll get him back for this later.”
Lintian looks around again and he saw that he was basically in a jail cell. His hands were still cuff.
“First things first. Let me test if I can get out of here.”
Lintian’s hand began to vibrate as a green energy covers his hand. After a little bit of adjusting and changing frequencies his hands finally phases through.
Mhmm that should be fine Lintian thought happily to himself and then he puts the cuffs back onto himself.
Then he sat down into meditating position. His soul then tries to find the conscious energy that he locked away.
“Found you,” Lintian happily thought to himself. As the small conscious piece merges with the rest of his soul the memories in that piece began to flood his brain as he began to analyze them.
“Hey Tang why did you knock him out?” Lintian heard Xiang’s voice.
“It be better this way. I had this weird feeling that I couldn't shake off when I spoke with him. There was this invisible suppression.”
Then Lintian smell a sweet fragrance.
“Hahaha I think he popped a boner,” Lintian heard a new voice. Lintian couldn't help but blush.
“This kid is a pervert,” Xiang chuckles.
“Fang this is a new one even for you,” Tang jokes.
“Group leader,” a melodic voice that Lintian assumes would be Fang’s.
“Good one Fang,” Xiang joins in. “Instead of leveling up your cultivation you’re leveling up them boner attraction techniques.”
“Group can you not tease me like that? I can’t help it if they are perverted. Are you sure he’s unconscious?”
“Looks like it. Aside from his primal instinct the rest of the brain function is down.” Then his tone turns serious again. “Everyone report your findings to me.”
“I’ll go first then,” Lee said. “I found that there are no demonic beast or any moveable life form within a ten mile distance from the scorch marks. It seems like an Archaic beast might have either broke through here or it went berserk. The really weird thing is the black scorch marks. There’s a special characteristic to it. All the plants seems to be absorbed and not burned. These characteristics reminded me of the Chaos Fire that we all read in the history books about the first true Emperor of our world.”
“I have also found things to be similar to what Lee have said. What is even funnier is that I saw two fire beasts trying to absorb and digest the energy left behind but what was interesting was both these two beast bursted into black fire right after. Also I found a pieces of a special barrier spell around the area. It is extremely complex and will take days to dissect. What I have found so far is a teleportation spell, mixed with a containment spell, and monitoring spell. I believe there is over at least 100 spells combined to make this barrier. As for the chaos flames after a careful analysis I found that it was burning for up to 11 to 14 hours. It started from about 22 miles away from here,” Fang explains.

“How did you know it burned for that long?” Tang asks a hint of curiosity could be heard in his voice.
“I found out the Barrier broke about 14 hours ago from the loss of energy. The reason I estimated 11 to 14 because the flames might have absorbed the barrier’s energy too after it was destroyed but it should be to the point that it went below 11 hours. Also the speed and spread of the black fire was two miles.”
“And you Xiang.”
“I was looking around this area before and I found the signs to be similar to both Fang and Lee but when I was looking I saw this kid approaching from a mile away. I didn’t what he was doing here so I attacked him to try and decapitate him for questioning. His body is extremely weak, his attacks surpasses his cultivation level but not to the point where he would be a threat to my body. He spoke a different language and wasn't able to understand me at all. I called him all sorts of names and there was no reaction from him at all. When he avoided to hit a vital area. I decided to give him a pair of translation earphones to question him. His cultivation and training doesn't seem similar to ours at all. It seems quite crude. His body training seems to only consists of lightning and fire refinement. There are no strength, or defensive body training at all. It could be said that his body strength is about the beginning of someone in the beginning of the martial realm. The weird thing is I have this feeling that I should not try to kill him.”
“Could he be the one that started the fire?” Lee asks.
“Doubt it,” Tang answers. “I checked his body. There is no way his body can contain that large amount of energy. It is too weak. I would be surprise if he can even do a thousandth of the damage done here. For now we’ll take him back and throw him in the dungeon and question him later.”
Lintian then seems to feel that he got thrown into the trunk of a car as it drove off.
“So what are we going to do about the Colosseum battles?” Xiang asks. “We still need win 3 more battles and two of our teammates are already too injured.”
“I really don't know,” Lintian heard Fang sigh.
“Well we can replace them but the replacement’s cultivation cannot pass theirs. Also everyone whose strong enough are already taken or can’t compete again since they are already out,” Lee clarifies.
“Will we really have to accept that rascals offer?” Fang asks depressingly.

“We have to think of something our young master is counting on us. There is no way for us to make enough money fast enough unless we win this tournament.”
“Hey why don’t we have this kid in the back of our trunk help us?” Xiang suggests.
Lintian was a little speechless after hearing that. First you tried to kill me, then knock me out, and then throw me in the trunk like I'm a sack of potatoes and then you want my help. Bitch your grandpa is no push over.
“What can he do?” Lee laughs. “He can’t even beat you when you only use 10 percent of your qi. You’re only stronger than Fang here because she studying to be a spell master.”
“Man this drags,” Xiang mutters grumpily. “The patriarch of the clan is such a skank. He knowns that son of a bitch poisoned our young master and chose to do nothing about.”
“Don’t say these things carelessly,” Tang warns. “Lets focus on how to win this tournament. We’ll report our findings get the money and think of a way to win.”
After that they began to talk among themselves about personal stuff. Like when is Xiang going to get a girlfriend and when Tang is going to get married. Also if Lee and his wife has been making love every night. He has also learn each of their cultivation realms. The rest were trivial stuff.
After that Lintian was thrown into a jail cell and six hours has gone by since he woke up.
Lintian got up and began to try and formulate a plan. What he has learned so far is Tang is the strongest with a cultivation of the ninth stage of the Master realm. While Lee is the eighth. Xiang is seventh. Fang is sixth and about to break through to seventh. They need to earn a lot of money probable to buy medicine for their young master. The only choice they have at the moment is to win some sort of tournament. Also as long as he has dragon blood in him then he can become a citizen here.
After ten minutes Lintian thought of a rough draft of a plan to get home.
“HEY ANYONE IN HERE!” Lintian shouts out. His voice was laired with qi so it resounded out through the whole building. What Lintian didn't know was he was not the only one who thought of this. Because of that his jail cell was sound proof. Meaning no sound goes out.
LIntian found it weird that no one heard him. He tried three more times before activating his dragon eyes to look at the spell arrays around him.
After a bit of studying, Lintian found that the spell array they were using was pretty neat. It the array itself is a rank 5 array but the sound proofing array was only a rank 2 and it was on the outside of the rank five. This way cultivators with a bit of array knowledge cannot mess with it.
Except Lintian wasn’t just any spell master. He has a rank 3 soul and his knowledge was passed over from both Kyuri and Harris.
After about 5 minutes of fiddling with it Lintian manage to turn the sound proof array to a microphone array.
“LET ME OUT OF HERE!” Lintian shouts at the top of his lungs and the microphone array picked up on it and it amplified Lintian’s shout by 100.
“WHO WAS IT!” An extremely deep loud voice came stumping down the stairs.
Standing before Lintian was a massively jacked man. Seven feet tall and has gorilla size arms.
“Can I make a phone call?” Lintian asks except due to the moment he forgot to turn off the array. The array picked up on the question and amplifies the sound 100 times.
The man glares at Lintian with extreme resentment. He reaches out with his arm and grabs Lintian by the neck. Then the steel bars became alive like they were snakes. They attacked Lintian and wraps him up like a present. Then he took out another piece of metal and wraps Lintian’s mouth with it.
Well, that did not go as planned Lintian thought to himself.
“Stay quiet or I will kill you right now.”
Lintian shakes his head in understanding.
After he left Lintian lets out a sigh of relief. He didn’t do this because he was bored. He did this so he can take the Jail man’s watch away from him. Lintian then replaces it with a spell that gives him the illusion the watch was still there.
After Lintian was sure the jail man was gone, he phases himself out of those bars and began to do research with the watch on where he was.

Flame Beneath The Snowfall
Alto is a world governed by Tones. Magic, as one might call it. Manifested through deep mental and physical conditioning, one can control the Tones in a way that is unique to them. The power to store items in gems, transfer life, affect a person's mind, and even the more primal abilities such as control of the elements. Those who have these supernatural abilities are called 'Vassals.' People that fully manifest their abilities are not as common as one might think, and not all Vassals acquire their ability through practice, given if conditions are met. In fact, those who had received much trauma manifest the Tones more frequently, albeit spontaneously. However, the rare kind of Vassals are those who manifest it from childhood. A gift, but not without its repercussions. Alto is stuck in a transitional era, where the line between modern and dated technology is blurred. One can travel to a city that has a tall skyline, bustling with people in sophisticated clothing, or a mere town governed by a lord, all the while riding on a powered vehicle. Cultures vary: Some turn to the more dated practices such as castes, others are more inclined to set equal footing on their people, led by nobility. Some are dedicated to become scholars, studying Alto's Tones, while others set foot on hunts, protecting lone towns from the creatures of some of the still-untamed lands. And the Vassals? Those willing are took under The Organization, an elusive group, its presence said to permeate all throughout Alto, taking care of Rogue Vassals that abuse their abilities and other businesses related to their side. But what is this story all about, you may ask? Well, set your sights on the upper portions of this huge landmass that is Alto. Yes, the 'whole' world is called Alto, but that is because the majority of the known people live on this large continent. Relieve yourself of the worrying tensions everywhere, and see the white snow. Trace the piercing mountaintops and focus your eyes between the valley. A town sits there. Mido. After realizing that the memories only left in his mind was the night of his town's imminent destruction in flames, a boy finds himself grasping for every fiber of his life as he lays down flat on the ground. Beneath him was soot mixed with the white snow. Fortunately, a group of investigators, who were supposed to answer their call for help, saved him from his sorry state. With a newfound second wind, but hampered by his loss of memory, he must solve his own case: Who had the audacity to set Mido, his town, aflame? Flame Beneath the Snowfall focuses on action, with a sense of adventure, but mostly the discovery of an outside world, and the protagonist's exposure to it. Add in a whisk of soft magical elements, and you get a story that I hope will be interesting to the readers. That is not to say that my work is without the sense of unnerving atmosphere, however. As a forewarning, there are elements of gore, horror, minor elements of mental trauma, etc. so it is not for all audiences. *The book is already completed. Although I have plans to continue the story (it would have to involve much larger scope in terms of world-building), I have yet to decide when to start the next entry.
