Book 2 Chapter 9: Pondering
Lintian felt like an ass but there was really nothing he can do right now. Thank God it didn't accidentally kill him Lintian thought to himself as he enters a training room. Training rooms are 10 meters by 10 meters in size. The whole room is enchanted by a spell formation that increase the strength of the walls. This room was also specially enchanted by Dr. Harris to be able to withstand an attack of the King’s realm.
In the room Lintian pressed some buttons on his watch and the spell array app turns on. Lintian then sent in an initial spell formation and once it was in, a complete spell array came spinning out in less than half a second.
This was the essence gathering array. Like the name suggests it gathers elemental essence. This one is the lightning essence gathering array. It has been three years and Lintian has been practicing the Divine Lightning Body God’s Art for more than three years. He broke through to the second stage half a year ago but this God’s Art cultivation was about a hundred times slower than Lintian was use too. Most technique only takes Lintian a week or two to master. Even a rank three essence array only took Lintian 3 weeks to completely understand the inner workings of it. It was to the point that even without looking it up he managed to create one in his spell app so he can activate it whenever he likes.
It has been 5 months and Lintian was still get the gate way of the second stage of the God’s art. The first stage was lightning essence body refinement. It took Lintian three years too complete. Once he completed the first stage he unlocked the knowledge need to practice the second stage. Except the second stage is more of the activation of the lightning essence and Lintian can’t seem to get it right. The second stage is call becoming one with the world or the fazing stage. 5 months of practicing and he hasn’t got a single epiphany into this technique yet.

Anyway once Lintian set the array down he lets the array gather the lightning essence while he does something else. He releases the Shadow knives out of his interspacial ring with the bands. He placed one band for each elbow, and also one for each knees. Another one band for each wrist. Then he stretched one for his waist. It turns out they are very elasticity. Once this step was completed the bands merged into Lintian’s skin.
Lintian couldn't even feel it anymore. Interesting Lintian thought and held up a knife near his wrist.
Phwoosh! The knife was absorbed into the wrist.
“Alright, so the instructions say that I just need to focus a couple strands of qi to the area I want to active the band. Then use my hands or anything that can guide qi to point the knives a direction you want it to fly in. Lintian holds up his left wrist like Detective Conan holding up his watch to shoot Richard Moore. Then Lintian places two finger on his wrist and flicks it outward like he was drawing a yugioh card.
Phwoosh!
The knives flew out at an incredible speed. Lintian estimated that it was close to 50 to 60 meters per second. This was just from one strand of qi? Lintian thought astonishingly to himself. Then he notice something even more amazing. The wall had a 2 centimeter blade mark on it. Feeling the excitement Lintian wanted to conduct for experiment with it. Opening his palm the knife flew back to him. This time Lintian uses two strands of qi.
It was even faster. This time it was close to 80 meters per second. For the next five minutes Lintian kept retrieving the shooting out the knives, while making mental notes. Every shot he sent out add deeper cuts into the wall than the previous. Lintian was currently at the same amount of qi that it requires to fill a teaspoon. The current speed right now was at 400 meters per second. This time Lintian doubles that amount of qi and sends the knife flying out like a bullet.

Zoom! Crack! Boom!
The knife flew through the wall like a bullet through a 3 inch thick wooden board.
I see at 600 meters per second its power is stronger than a stage 7 King’s realm cultivator. By my estimates it should be true that at 800 meters per second it should be able to injure a stage one heaven’s realm practitioner.
Lintian opens his palm and felt the knife returning to him. The knife flew perfectly back through the hole and in the band on his left wrist.
This time Lintian began to practice the hidden weapon style martial art skills in the book left behind by his step family. Furthermore he lowered the strand of qi used to 10 strands which keeps the speed at 200 meters per second.
After about 30 minutes he finally got use to the movements. The lightning essence array also finally finished gathering the lightning essence. Retiring all the knives back into the interspacial launcher bands Lintian moves the lightning essence array to under his body before it disappeared. The array he created was vastly inferior to the one in the Neverland Dungeon. It is like comparing an Audi R8 to a Prius. Both great cars but if I was in a race I rather drive a R8.
Lintian sits into a lotus position and begins to agitate his qi. The lightning qi in his dantian bursts forth covering Lintian’s skin in yellow. The lightning essence around him began to swirl like a great tornado as Lintian sat in the eye of the storm. Lintian’s whole body begins to vibrate at an unbelievable speed.
Okay got it, Lintian thought to himself. His body was still vibrating intensely. Lintian reaches his hand out and touches the wall. Nothing. His hand was still a solid. In the next second Lintian’s body returns back to normal. He was feeling numb and tingly all over. Failure.
Lintian falls back onto the flooring thinking. He has gone online and researched this part of the technique but everyone online said that it was impossible. Furthermore nobody on this planet could faze through object. There were no Martial Art that could do it either. It was just simply impossible.
“I followed the instructions perfectly,” Lintian mutters to himself. Use the lightning qi to cover your body and then agitate the molecules in your body to the frequency of the object and then pass through thus becoming one with the world. I spent months on this already and I still haven't got a single step into this. The words one with the world kept echoing in Lintian’s head. What could it mean? I already tried vibrating my body to the tune of the world but that doesn’t work either. While Lintian lays there he kept absorbing the surrounding lightning qi hoping to gain some sort of enlightenment. Honestly speaking he already absorbed so much lightning and fire elemental qi that absorbing anymore was pointless. It is like trying to fill a glass of water that was already full. Unless he breaks through to the Master realm no matter how much more lightning qi he absorbs it would just be pointless effort.
“Vibrate the molecules in the body to the frequency of the object,” Lintian mumbles, “ Mhmm, UGH! DAMN! I ALREADY TRIED EVERYTHING!”
He tried covering his whole body down to the cellular level in lightning qi before he begins to vibrate to a certain frequency but it was of no use. He tried over a hundred methods in the pass few months. This has never happened to him before.
Staring at the ceiling covered in stars Lintian begins to ponder on the subject again. Starting from ground up. Maybe I should try to develop a new attack out of this. I heard vibrational attacks are usually pretty strong. Wait? Lintian hits himself on the head. Didn’t I receive a special stone from that Neverland Dungeon? Hehe, I see now. So thats how it works.

The Cosmic Interloper
Synopsis: A cyborg transhuman escapes her corporate indenture and through unfathomably unlikely circumstances, she ends up in a fantasy world of full of unique magic, angry people with sharp implements, and the whole flavor-spectrum of divine entities. Hilarity ensues. Features: - No blue boxes or cultivation, this is not a LitRPG nor about martial arts - Hard-ish Sci-Fi meets hard-ish magic - Generally trying to keep this "rational" Rationale: My primary goal with The Cosmic Interloper is to write something that I myself would enjoy reading. Of course, that’s not the only motivation, but I think it’s the most important one for me to keep in mind, especially as the author. In fact, this whole story came about because after consuming oodles of fiction, I found myself craving a very specific type of story which I couldn’t find many examples of. Then I asked myself, “why not write it myself?” and here we are. Disclaimer: In general, while I’m not writing a comedy, I do intend for this story to be funny and a bit wacky or absurd. That said though, I am using this story as a vehicle to explore some potentially dark topics including (but not limited to) slavery, speciesism/racism, and existential questions of self, consciousness, and identity. Still, I’m going to leave the “traumatizing content” tags off, because I don’t feel that what I’ve written so far (or plan on writing) exceeds the threshold that would be necessary for me to tag it thusly. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way she views the world is not the objective truth (if such a thing even exists).
