Book 2 Chapter 7: Shadow Knives
What the hell is this? Am I on a f*cking suicide mission? Lintian thought. It turns out the briefing that Katrina gave was too simple and only after looking at the detailed of the mission did it became hard. This is because Lintian cannot fail in the elevator. If the biological proof does not match the data in the system then the elevator will automatically lock the door and release a venomous gas that can even kill heaven realm cultivators. Furthermore, the doors are made out tricenite. A material that could take at least 5 full power blows from Heaven realms cultivators before shattering.
The elevator has a special security system. The key used to operate the elevator activates a special security system inside known as the weight, and eye scan system. So Lintian has to trust that whatever is given to him will work. If it does not then Lintian will end up dead 100 percent.
“Wait,” Lintian said out loud. “Don’t I have the riskiest mission in this whole plan?”
“What do you mean? I think you have the easiest,” Katrina said in a fake surprise, “go through elevator. Go pass security and steal the orb and come back.”
“Yeah except for the fact that I have to escape an inescapable elevator, that releases poison that can KO a heaven realm cultivator…”
“You’ll be fine. If you die then I have no way of retrieving it back so I will make sure you don't die.”
Lintian let out a huge sigh of defeat. “whatever then. Give me the set of shadow knives now incase something unexpected happens I have an extra option of protection.”
“Of course,” Katrina smiles lifting up her hand and a box appears. Just from the box Lintian could feel how terrifying those knives are. It gave off a dominating aura. Something like staring at an iron rod that just came out of the furnace.
She opens the box and inside lays 8 identical translucent knives. They all look so fragile like glass. The glass like blade is five inches long. The handle was actually only one inch long. Design flaw maybe? Lintian thought. It looks a lot like Kuni knives with a shorter handle. There was something else that attracted Lintian’s attention that was in the box. It was 8 silicone bracelet bands.

“What are those?” Lintian asks pointing to the silicone bracelet bands.
“These are bracelet storages. Except they are special. Each storage allows up to three knives only. Furthermore since it is a hidden weapon system once activated by qi it will shoot out the knife with explosive power. For example lets say you can shoot the knives at a speed of 50 meters per sec. With these bands you can shoot out a hidden knife at a speed of 150 meters per second. Three times the speed you are normally capable of. There is however a limit through and that is 800 meters per second. Not only that but these knives are made out of transvinium. Transvinium is a very hard material to find in the natural world. It takes 50 ounce of vibranium t20 to be condensed over 10,000 years worth of time to make 1 ounce of transvinium. So you can imagine how hard it is and how hard it to find. The maker of this hidden weapon system had two reasons to make it out of transvinium which ranked as 37 on the strength system instead of something harder. It is because of the translucent and vibration properties. The reason it is call shadow knives is because the translucent style allows it to blend in with its background. Making it harder and less likely to be noticed. Then the vibrations properties would allow it to vibrate at such a speed that it will replicate itself and once it hit the target the vibration will increase to the point that it will rip the target in half.”
Lintian listened like a little boy whose father just told him he could drive his car.
“That is awesome,” Lintian said out loud. He was in love. A year ago he went back to the Tsukino family villa treasure vault to see if they left anything behind. They left 3 paper manuals in the vault. 1 was an advance version of the qi hiding art. Number 2 was a 7 inch thick manual for Assassin style hidden weapon art known as misdirection art. The final manual is called the shadow steps. To Lintian the shadow steps were useless because the Emperor’s step technique far out ranked it in terms of speed, simplification, and evasiveness.

Lintian couldn’t wait to try it out with the Misdirection art left behind by his family. Katrina seeing the excitement in Lintian’s eyes gently push the box to him. Lintian reached in to grab the handles and realized that it was pretty heaven. Lintian felt that it was somewhere near the 150 pound mark.
“Its pretty heavy,” Lintian mutters under his breath. I guess it is not a bad thing, Lintian thought. Mass time speed equals greater force. With the mass of 150 pounds condensed into this tiny little knife it is bound to create a lot of force.
“Put it in your interspacial ring for now and get back to reading the rest of your mission,” Katrina command.
“Sure,” Lintian answers and stores the knives into his interspacial ring.
Then he kept reading on. Once you get to the top floor say I am here. Once you say that Joe will activate the sleep gas that we will install before hand in the air vent. Once the guards at the door falls asleep you will bypass the system. Once you are inside the vault switch out the orb with another container orb you will get. Furthermore Lintian after that you will go to the roof top to be picked up.
Sounds simple enough Lintian thought. The main problem is that he has to avoid being detected on the first floor before getting to the elevator. Furthermore the cameras are constantly watching him. The good news is that he will be in disguised before entering and as long as luck is on his side and he doesn't meet any Master realm cultivators then he will have no trouble getting to the elevator. Once he gets to the elevator and pass the biometrics then he will be on floor X. Once he get in swap out the container orb head to the room and leave then he is safe and sound. Then Lintian noticed a button in the corner that is written plan B. Lintian nothing of it Lintian clicked on it.
Another plan pops up but this one is getting caught at the entrance. If you are caught at the entrance then you will need to battle and distract everyone to the first floor. Try your best not to die and hold for 10 minutes. Joe, Katrina, Diana and Sam will switch to be the retrieval team.
In the corner was another button. Plan C.
This one is for getting caught on floor X. Furthermore you set of the alarm. Use your full power to get the orb. Break the window and jump out of it. Do not use your pet to try and fly away. It will activate the laser guns capable of taking out a Heavens realm in a couple of shots. You have 20 seconds before being swarm with a swat of Master realm cultivator. They will kill you on sight. Don’t worr
It is a 44 floor building for God sakes who the hell in the Martial realm can survive a suicidal jump from that high. I rather fight my way down Lintian thought. Lintian sighs to himself and began to think of a plan to survive in each scenario. Further there were plans d, e, f, g, h, and I incase the others fail.
“Hey I got a question. If I am able to sneak from floor one to floor X without getting spotted why would I need Diana and you for distraction?” Lintian asks feeling the flaw in this plan. “Wouldn’t your distraction make them guard the item even harder?”

The Infinite Labyrinth
(Story complete - Book 1 "Shanghaied", 2 "Shortcuts", 3 "Secrets" and 4 "Sanctions") It is the 19th century, and war smoulders between England and France. Any hope for a quick end to Napoleon's rampage across Europe ended when the Great Gates opened in 1800. For a fortunate few, the strange world of the Infinite Labyrinth offers opportunities, strange descriptors popping in their minds, informing them of growth, and status beyond that of a mere mortal. The materials and power crystal they bring back foster a new age, both military and civilian. Aether-powered Skyships prowl the skies, as all the great nations blessed by the Gates try to turn the blessings of the Labyrinth into immediate advantages. But for Jonas, an apprentice leatherworker, his friend Ira, and so many Londoners, the fabled ones that walk the Labyrinth are distant heroes, seen from afar. They fell short when their Potential was measured, and they fill their mundane lives with distant dreams. One man wants to break the stalemate. The Tyrant of the Dominion of France, Napoleon Bonaparte, has a plan. Eighteen years after the world changed, he will force it to change again. And when civilians are caught in the fallout, the unthinkable happens. Six people, unqualified, forbidden to ever enter the Labyrinth, find themselves stranded in a distant zone, forcefully turned into Professionals. They know little of what that means, but they have to figure out the rules that are now their lot, for they have little hope to escape their predicament otherwise. They need to understand what the descriptors in their minds mean, what each of the strange piece of gear waiting in treasure chests behind terrible guardians can bring them. They have to become Professionals on their own and rejoin the Empire. They will figure out their new lives one way or another. But will there be an Empire waiting for them when the Gates re-open? Caught in a clash of empires and high tiers, they will do what little they can. They will step up and do their best. One way or another. The Infinite Labyrinth is a slice-of-life litRPG adventure set in a real historical setting. It's a hard, crunchy litrpg. Expect blue boxes everywhere, and the system itself is very mathy. It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.

Our Chaoz; Our Reality (Completed)
Everyone has their own reasons, be it past events, personality or simply company. But most at some point divulge themselves into videogaming, be it for entertainment or more compettitive reasons. In this year and age there are many genres of gaming, one specific genre though still holds on tight to the ledge it was pushed to trying to pull itself back up. MMORPGs were once the top of everybody's list, adventure, combat, storytelling and endless grind in one single game. It was a different life for most, as if a parallel world to our own. You could be a knight indulging yourself in combat, a mage expertly crafting spells of mass destruction or creation. A ranger exploring the land and hunting down prey, an assassin completing contracts and hording the spoils. A troll scamming children out of their hard earned 10 gold and making more hardcore players rage quit for the day. Or something else. Kyle was a simple player, he always picked the strangest classes or jobs and his characters almost looked the same. He played for the combat, he played for the grind and he played for his guild but above all he played for the story. Kyle is a roleplayer, one who enjoys the simple parts of this virtual life. Whether his guild was starting a war or ending one he'd always have his drammatic entrence or exit, his decleration of annihalition or demand of surrender. After all that? He divulged himself in the game's story, the interaction with NPCS (Non Player Characters) and their advanced AI. He went through many questlines, many tales of heroics and many more adventurers of legend but one thing always remained true with his character. Kyle absolutely loved to the play the villain. But when game turns reality, what will he and his guild of twisted personalities do?
