《Asura》Chapter 58-Emperor’s Step Xiang and The Lightning Element

The trackers managed to find Yuki in seconds. She was near the outskirt of the forest searching for Lintian.
“Madam we found Miss Yuki but no sign of young master Lintian yet. We found Lintian’s scent but it ends where we found Miss Yuki.”
They saw the area Yuki was at. It was where Rashu had his final battle. The scene shocked these trackers. They looked at the area in fear. They could still feel the residual aura from Ancestor realm cultivators. Even through it was only a residual it scared the hell out of them. Those trackers literally sweat a river. Yuki being too weak could not sense it but these guys were trained to sense qi. Right now even through it was only a trace they felt suffocated to the point where if someone told them they were underwater they would believe it.
After being paralyzed with fear for a couple minutes, they began to move again. Eventually they caught scent of Lintian’s qi again.
“Madam, we are following Lintian’s qi right now. We will report once we fine him.”
The three guys began the chase again. One of them caught Yuki and was dragging her back to the family estate. They followed Lintian’s qi to another area only to find that this place was a mess too. The residual qi and aura they felt were slightly weaker than before but never less similar. They also felt a brand new aura at the peak of the Heaven’s realm.
They began to search around for clues. They found a whole bunch of clues but none of it makes any sense at all.
“What the hell happened here?” Tracker one questions.
“I have no idea. What kind of mess did young master Lintian get into?” Tracker two answers.
“Lets just hurry up and find him so Madam Tsukino can calm down,” Tracker three said.
“Alright,” the other two replies.
Back To Lintian on Day 4.
After a day of refining all those demonic qi Lintian finally managed to heal all his wound with the help of some medical pills. He managed to open up his sixteenth meridian point and cultivate some lightning qi. When he refine the lightning qi it jump start his ability to naturally to create those lightning qi.
“Take a nap before you go,” Rashu said.
“I really should get out of this dungeon as fast as possible,” Lintian said in a worry tone. I still remember that Xintong was still outside. Furthermore he has been gone for five days his new family must be worried sick. Furthermore knowing Yuki she probable led his new parents to the site of the battle.

“Calm down. Rushing will do you no good here. Keep calm and move forward when ready. It is better to go when prepared then on prepared,” Rashu said and then he adds, “your family will be worried but it better for you to go back with a live body then a dead one.” It seems like Rashu could read his mind. Naturally he could but only certain thoughts directed at him. It was just that Lintian’s thinking was too simple. Rashu guess that the reason he didn't go back before was due to the excitement of adventure.
“Alright,” Lintian replied.
“Don’t think about them right now and focus. Survive through this and go back,” Rashu encourages.
Lintian enters his dream space and began to practice the next step of the Emperor’s step.
The multi image step. Lintian began to focus his qi throughout his body. First combine the first four steps, Jin, Tui, Bi, and qin to create the final step Xiang. Lintian lightning qi were also spreading through his body. Lintian moves.
FOOSH!
He flew like a pig who just sprouted wings across the sky and landed in the boar’s arena. Lintian killed it in instant with a soul penetrating fist. After the growth spurt Lintian just had never mind one even if there were ten of these tier two boards it would be a piece of cake for him.
After the boar died Lintian came out from the arena.
Mhmm, so the speed increased by at least 3 times compared with before. So I have to react quicker than before Lintian thought.
Lintian thus began to try the Xiang part of the Emperor’s steps
Failure. Failure. Failure. Lintian’s multiple failures did not cause him to feel the slightest bit dejected. In fact he actually felt ecstatic. This was one of the few techniques where he didn't master it on a couple of tries. It means this technique was absolutely a high level martial art skill.
An hour passed and Lintian began to get a feel for the new instant movement skill. He couldn't maintain the first image yet. Another two to three hours passed and Lintian managed to get the first image down.
“Keep practicing there are flickers that gives you away,” Rashu said.
“Ok,” Lintian replied.
Another two hours passed and Lintian managed to master the first image of the skill to a certain extent. It took a while but Lintian figured out there was a rhythm to it. In order to create an afterimage a person must be moving in a rhythm. The hardest part was to create movement in the after image like a clone. Like they had a will of their own. Lintian can’t moving back and forth. Then he began to take a bit of a shortcut by leaving behind a trace of his qi. Due to a strange phenomenon the qi left behind by Lintian somehow kept the image of Lintian stable.

Lintian finally tired out and sat down. He gasps for breathe a bit. It left a bit on strain on his ankles. Lintian only managed to keep the image up for 5 to 7 seconds. In that short amount of time Lintian perform the Emperor’s step 80 times.
This is a very crude technique Lintian thought. Still out of breath. If I can move this fast why do I need to create multiple images of myself? There has to be a trick that he didn't show me. Theres no way a rank 7 movement skill is this crude.
After resting for a couple hours Lintian came out from his dream land. Only four to five hours has passed since he entered.
His body was now fully recovered. Lintian got up and puts in the key to the keyhole. In a couple seconds Lintian heard gears turning. Then another door opened. Lintian walks through the door and saw a completely empty room. This whole room was covered with golden lines. It was in a formation too. Lintian could feel a strange static coming from this room.
“Lightning qi,” Rashu whispers. Then he floats around and inspects another stone. “For the next test you must absorb lightning qi for four days or die in this room. Once you absorbed enough lightning qi put your hand on top of the blue stone. Then release as much Lightning into it as you can. Once you release enough the door will naturally open and you will be given one finally task before claiming your reward.” Pretty straight forward Rashu thought.
“So I just have to absorb the lightning qi?” Questions Lintian.
“Yes,” Rashu replies. “Sit over there and cultivate. That spot has the densest amount here. Normally you would start low and go high but since you already absorb those tier three thunder wolves lightning essence you will be fine.
“Ok.”
Lintian walks over there and sat down into the lotus position. Seconds later he began to connect his consciousness with the lightning essence of this room. What he saw gave him a shock. In his conscious form the lightning essence were swirling around him. He could see and feel it. An interlacing of gold, yellow, aureolin, traces of yellowish green, dark yellow, light yellow, and every shade of yellow you can think of. Lintian somehow felt at home. This room of lightning qi felt alive and exhilarating. Lintian doesn't know why but he felt like it had a consciousness of its own.
“Mr or Ms? Is it ok if I absorb you?” Lintian asks.
Rashu was looking at Lintian like he was crazy. Why is he asking the essence for permission to absorb?
The moment Lintian asks this the lightning essence themselves rush toward Lintian like a great whirlpool. Lintian’s little body began to lit up. His body was bright yellow like Buddha descending on the mortal world. In the physical world electric currents were flowing through Lintian at around 100,000 volts. Normally this would kill a person but this current of Lintian was gentle and careful. It did not even tried to harm Lintian but rather strengthen and restructure his body. New neuron paths were being created as seconds tick by. Lintian’s bones were getting denser and stronger. His left over fat were used for energy and nutrient. To Lintian he didn't feel an ounce of pain rather he felt into a state of euphoria.
Rashu stared in surprise. In his whole entire life time he has never seen such phenomenon. What the hell is going on? Even his a person has exceptional affinity this would not happen at all. He has been friends with figures such as the legendary lightning beast Raikiri since little. Due to his strength and affinity with the lightning element the humans gave him the name Raikiri a name that literally meant lightning cutter in Japanese. He had an affinity with lightning that was beyond exceptional and probable the best in the entire plane at the time. Even then this has never happened before. Every single movement of lightning when he train was through his conscious power. Lintian on the other hand was not even aware of this. The lightning was doing everything and Lintian was basically taking a bath.
Rashu’s eyes then turn to alarm, “NO!” I have to stop this his body is too little and he was unprepared for this. What Rashu saw just no was Lintian’s body being broken down and reinforced at a rapid rate. Except he has excess nutrient, and other stuff in his body to help the reinforcement but eventually it will run out and when it does his body will deteriorate instead. It’s cells will be eating itself to have energy to perform the task instructed by the lightning element.

Cutting to Life: an NPC LitRPG (Battle Royale)
Nikola is an NPC in The World of Wills, a video game where players can feel sensations as if they were truly there. She leads a life of bloodshed and murder - that is, until one day she wakes up sapient. Just as she begins thinking real, non-scripted thoughts and making connections, she and the players in the game are told that if they die in the game, they die in real life - and it's time to get killing. But what of Nikola, the emerging AI consciousness? How does she win in a game that can only end in her being wiped from existence at the end of it all? - Updates Mondays and Fridays. Cutting to Life is a slow-burn LitRPG with a villainous (later anti-hero, or maybe still villainous, haha) female lead. It's told from the perspective of Nikola, an NPC within the World of Wills who's become sapient and is now mysteriously able to play the game as a PC. It's quite light for a LitRPG, but the system and stats become more of a focus later when Nikola herself can access them. The story gradually builds into a Battle Royale where the players' lives are on the line (if you die in the game, you die in real life), and only one party of savvy adventurers can win. They'll have to spend their time and stats wisely as dungeons promising rare gear float down from the sky - but is a legendary sword worth killing someone for, knowing they'll stay dead forever? - This story is told in third person, past tense.- This is a slow-burn LitRPG that spends a lot of time establishing its setting and characters, because I believe this will make for a better payoff in the end. As such, the Battle Royale doesn't start until chapter 30 or so.- Chapters are anywhere between 800 words and 3000 words long.- Book cover by Vixeona.Cutting to Life is also being posted on SPB and Scribble Hub.Thank you sincerely for reading.
