《Asura》Chapter 55-Restrictions

After twenty minutes or so they all arrive near the entrance of the cave. The cave looked to be 10 feet tall and 4 feet wide. There were some trees but that was about it. There was also a huge group of kids surrounding the entrance. They were all dressed in a mix of black, green, and brown. There was a difference of height between the groups in the front and the groups in the back. It seems the older kids were in the front while the younger generation was in the back. There seems to be an invisible barrier blocking out those kids too.
“Quite lively it seems,” Rashu’s voice echoes in Lintian’s head. “This dungeon was probable made by an Ancestor realm expert. This expert is pretty interesting.”
“GOD DAM IT!” roars one of the older kids. He seems to have hit puberty already and his voice sounded a bit manlier than the rest. The crowd unconsciously backs away a couple meters. Master realm qi were exploding out of that kid’s body. Seven swords rose around him and it attacks toward one specific point in the barrier.
“What a waste of energy,” Rashu said casually, “this is an Ancestor realm barrier. A little Master realm child who is not even close to the peak thinks he can break it? Even if there were a thousand of you it be useless.” Rashu laughs.
What! That powerful? Lintian was thinking.
Of course haha this is the difference between a child out of the womb and an adult warrior!
Child out of the womb? Lintian questions, what does that mean?
……………………………… I meant to say its like a little child like you without qi going up against an adult warrior whose trained all his life to fight.
Oh, Lintian replies. Then out of the corner of his eyes he saw someone enter through the barrier. This kid was a little bit taller than him but he doesn't seem to have hit puberty.
“Whose that just walked in?” Lintian and Xintong asks in unison.
“How am I suppose to know?” Mieyun said irritated. They were all wearing mask and were dressed in the same color.
Then another kid tried to walk through too. BANG! Once he touched the barrier he was sent flying back.
Mhmm interesting Rashu hums.
“Whats going on?” Lintian asks out loud.

“I don’t know,” the tall skinny boy replied, “I think boy that entered might be Danny. He’s in the 4th of the Martial realm too.”
Hahaha its his age that lets him go in, Rashu transmitted.
His age? Lintian asks.
Yes, this is a restriction barrier. From the looks of it the barrier will block out any cultivators that hit puberty. If you are in the titan realm you can break it no problem or get around 10 Ancestor realm practitioners together.
“Hey so guys I think it has to do with age. Those kids in the front looks older than the ones in the back. The one that entered looks younger too,” Lintian reports out.
“Thats really good observation,” Meiyun compliments.
“Should we go meet them or keep hiding in the bushes?” Lintian asks curiously.
“You keep hiding and Xingxing will come with us to find out new information.”
“Fine.”
In a couple seconds the four of them left and Lintian was left in the bushes.
Lintian watched them like a hawk. He saw Xintong and her groupies blend into the crowd. There was only one entrance so Lintian couldn't sneak around and into the dungeon.
If you're thinking about sneaking in wait until night time, Rashu muses.
Why night time?
Easier to move around.
I think if I use the Dancing Moonlight body skill and my Emperor’s steps I can move behind the barrier before them.
Mhmm I guess it doesn't matter if you go now or later. Watch out for people above the seventh of the Martial realm if you see those run. I wish I can use my powers to help you but sadly I can’t in here.
Its fine I can’t always depend on you.
Good boy lets get started.
Rashu get inside the box, Lintian commanded and Rashu did as he was told.
Lintian focuses all his qi throughout his body and then begins to sprint toward the barrier.
Some of the older kids noticed a fluctuation of qi. They thought it might be a demonic beast and their qi shot up through the roof. They saw a black figure in streaking towards them.
“STOP HIM!” one of them yelled.
“Why?” another one asks.
“Because….”
“Lintian?” Xintong whispers under her breathe the moment she saw the shadow.
Three figures attacks Lintian thinking he was a threat. Lintian uses the Emperor’s steps to avoid everything. The attackers were only in the third of the Martial realm. Lintian didn't even a sense of danger. He disappears instantly. Then he was in the middle of the crowd swimming through it like a fish in water. Lintian’s eyes were able to coordinate every single person here.

Lintian’s hand touches the barrier and his hand slips through. Then to be completely safe he used the Emperor’s steps to move through the barrier faster.
“Got through.”
Lintian looks around and saw a cave.
“STOP!” Lintian heard some voice yell but he didn't give no f*ck and went into the dungeon. The moment he steps into the cave 30 formation appears and began to rotate.
Relax its a teleportation spell. It only works up to 20 meters. Rashu said mentally.
Seconds later Lintian was in a completely new room. It was black. The only source of light were a couple of torches. Lintian looks around and saw that the black walls have some sort of marking to them. Weird line patterns that formed into formations. The lines forming the formation were distinct black that was darker than the rest of the wall.
Rashu appears in spirit form next to Lintian.
“My god it was stuff in there,” Rashu said stretching his body.
“Why didn't you appear in this form outside?” Lintian asks.
“I can’t,” Rashu said calmly. “In here the walls will redirect all the spiritual conscious energy back into my soul and I can collect it therefore I won’t lose any energy.”
“I have no idea what you just said but it is cool,” Lintian said wide eyed as he walks out of the dark room and into the hall way. The hallway was also black with white lining this time. After walking for a bit he came into a large room with three passages. One has red lining another had white lining and the last one had yellow lining.
“What passage should I take?” Lintian asks.
“Mhmm,” hums Rashu, “I like the color yellow lets take yellow.”
“Okaayyy…” I could've done that myself Lintian thought as he walks toward the yellow passage. After walking for a minute or two Lintian finally arrives in front of an entrance to a large room. This is a pretty big dungeon Lintian thought.
“Nope this dungeon is small. Normally these dungeons are at least 50 kilometer big.”
“You can still hear my thoughts? Even when out here?”
“Yes, since I am still connected to the ring and your dream orb.”
“Oh cool,” Lintian said as he walks through the entrance. As he walks through he saw a table in the middle. There were also two wall cages on each side of the wall.
CREAK! RUMBLE!
Lintian turns around and saw that the walls were coming down. It was a nice and slow descend. Lintian had a chance to go back but decided to stay.
“Lintian its fine if you run back now you will defiantly die. Hey you know what they say the greater the danger the greater the reward.” Rashu said.
“Aye aye boss,” Lintian smiles. He understood perfectly.
Lintian jogs a but toward the desk in the middle. There was what looks like a keyhole and a couple of sentences in some foreign language.
“Rashu what does it say? I can’t read it.”
“It says, welcome to my Neverland dungeon young one. In this dungeon there are many treasures. If you want those treasure you must have the ability to grab it. There will be three tests. Each test harder than the other. It will be a test that can only be achieve by children under 12. The first test.
What force and strength cannot get through, I with a gentle touch can do. And many in these twisted halls would stand were I not as a friend, at hand.
To find me thou shall look in the deepest and darkest of all. I destroy and life spring forth. All Living beings must have I or thous will die,” Rashu said out loud.
Lintian heard everything but he was still trying to process it. Lintian thought the first one was obvious. Since there is a keyhole in the middle of the stone so it is defiantly a key that he needs. As for where to find it.
“Key,” Lintian murmurs and then began to decode the second riddle.
CREAK! Growl!
Lintian instantly turns around and the cage began to open up. An ominous aura began to leak out. Lintian’s back instantly stiffened.
“Master realm aura,” Lintian whispers in fear. 5 pairs of deadly eyes in each cell.
ROAR!

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
