“How many demonic cores have we collected so far?” Jack asks.

“I got 42 tier 1 and 7 tier two,” Xingxing replied.

“I got 31 tier 1 and no tier two,” Lester said quietly.

“Haha I didn’t do so hot either bro. I got 27 tier 1 and 8 tier two. You guys want to try and hunt down a tier three?” Jack suggested.

“No. We might be able to easily beat Tier ones and do ok on tier twos but tier three will be extremely tough. It is a whole realm worth of difference.”

“Thats true but tier ones are only worth 1 point per kill and tier two is 10 but tier three is 100 points. If we think about we are the weakest team here. Everyone else is 11 or twelve we are the only team that have people with less than 1 year of train aside from me. Furthermore Lance has the highest cultivation out of all of us. Do you really think his speed will be lower than ours? You and Lester may be a genius but you guys still lack time so the only way I can see us winning is by doing something extreme.”

“Thats true but tier two are already hard enough. Do you really believe us three can beat a beast in the Master realm? I’m only in the 2nd stage of the Martial realm and Lester is in one and you are only in stage four. Its suicide. Lance might be in stage 6 of the martial realm but I doubt he is killing any tier three. He is probable aiming only for tier twos while his teammates aim for tier ones.”

“Thats why we have to kill a tier three. One tier three is like 10 tier twos. Do you really think he can catch 10 tier twos in one day? I highly doubt it. We have been here a week and you have only beaten 7 tier twos. I would think he might have around 20 to 30 tier twos under his belt. So if we want to win we have to take bigger risks.”

“Then wouldn’t a better plan be for us all to focus only on tier two beasts?” Xingxing argued back.

“Come on what are you afraid of? We have heaven level weapons. If it was in the past that might be an issue but this is the future. Our weapons would have no problem piercing through the skin of the tier three.”

“Base on your logic wouldn’t it be more reasonable to hunt a tier four which is a 1000 points?” Xingxing asks.

Jack could not believe that this logic was coming from a 8 year old.

“Sister Xingxing I think we can beat a tier 3,” Lester in his mask said excitedly.

“Lester no. We don't need to endanger ourselves any further than necessary.”

“But, your dad betted your house on us,” Lester let out.

Xingxing’s eye’s softened up a bit but then it disappeared. It was replace by a cold hatred.

“Come on Xingxing lets give it a try. If we fail we can run away and use this guy as bait. You didn’t really think I was that nice to bring him along did you?” Jack said with an evil gleam in his eyes. Lintian was still in the dream space cultivating so he did not hear any of this.

“Jack no. I am not going to sacrifice someone else to save myself.”

“Suits yourself. Lester you coming along?” Jack said and looks at Lester before he ran away with Lintian on his back.

Lester looks at Xingxing with eyes of admiration and guilt. He doesn’t want to displease Xingxing but if this is the only way to help Xingxing then he is willing to do it. He followed after Jack.

“Jack, don’t you dare use this guy as bait,” Xingxing yelled and chase after him at full speed, “JACK!”

Jack made sure Xingxing was in visible range when he ran, “if you have the ability come get him.”

“Jack if someone finds out about this your finished,” Xingxing yelled trying to catch up him. Jack being two whole stage higher than Xingxing and practicing the same martial body skill as Xingxing was naturally faster than her. Xingxing’s understanding of the body skill was exceptional but Jack’s understanding wasn’t weak either. Given the fact that he was carrying Lintian made him slower by a little but it wasn’t enough for Xingxing to close the distance.

Jack already had a destination in mind. It was the Grizal Bear that they passed earlier. It was a tier three beast. High in defense and attack but running speed was slow. Even if it was tier three if they ran into the trees and began running it can’t do anything about it given his short stubby legs. Even through its leg speed were slow the Grizal Bear's arms are extremely fast and deadly. Due to its great offensive power the bear is even able to compete against tier four.

Once Jack reached the area he sat on top of a 20 feet tree gazing down on the bear. The Grizal Bear has black fur and stood 8 feet tall. His paws were the size of a tennis racket. His fur drooped all over his body like a coat.

When Xingxing reached the tree Jack placed his hand on his lips to tell her to be quiet. A couple seconds later Lester caught up. They brought out their watch and activated bluetooth. In this forest there were no signal so the only form of communication is to use bluetooth to connect with each other.

“Jack your crazy” Xingxing typed.

“Its sleeping right now. If all three of us surprise attack he will die. I’ll get the head. You get the heart and Lester get the stomach. Three fatal points.”

“That actually doesn’t sound so bad but we are not bringing this boy down with us. If you do I am not going along with it. Angry face angry face.”

“Thats fine. Winky face winky face. Lester you got any suggestions?” Jack typed as he laid Lintian down carefully.

“Nope.”

The Grizal bear laying there already noticed the three. He could not sense them but his hearing were excellent and he heard the rustling of tree. Food he thought. As his saliva gushes out of his mouth.

“On three then,” Jack typed. He lifts up his hand to do the count down.

Three shadows leaped through the air.

The Grizal Bear sensing a strong movement in the air opened his eyes. Three shadows were approaching him. One seems to aim for his head, while the other was the stomach. He didn’t notice Lester’s shadow at all. His body could sense that the two shadows were in the early Martial realm so he wasn’t too afraid, but he could sense that their weapons were powerful. He wasn’t an intelligent creature so when he sense that Jack and Xingxing had weak cultivation he stomped on the ground and spun his back around. The fur on his back shot out like needles.

“Fuck,” Jack thought.

“That boy,” Xingxing thought.

The needles were aimed at the direction they came from. Since they just leaped from the same area naturally the needles would be aimed there too.

Jack used an air movement skill to move away from the needles in mid air. Jack seeing Xingxing was going to try and block the needle grew angry. He gathered air qi in his palm and direct it at Xingxing moving her out of the way.

Lintian in his dream space was still cultivating so naturally he couldn’t sense his impending death. There was also nothing he could do anyway.

Luckily when the bear stomped his leg onto the floor it sent a vibrational wave throughout the forest. This caused a tree to snap in half since someone from a week ago just happened to half ass chop one of the trees. The Tree fell and blocked the needles. Some got through but missed Lintian’s face by an inch.

Lucky bastard Jack laughed in his head. Xingxing seeing this was relief. Lester who got disrupted by the stomp quickly hid.

Xingxing stood on the ground a couple meters away began to rotate her qi inside her body. Jack did the same.

Xingxing and Jack charged forward from opposite directions. Lester hid quietly in the bushes waiting for an opportunity. Xingxing’s sword sparkled with heaven realm qi.

The Grizal Bear seeing this, chose to charge toward Jack. His claws were glowing a dark brown. It’s charging speed was not fast but given his size it was still quite frightening.

“Heaven wind slash!” Jack called out. A ripple of qi came out from the sword. This was a mix of martial realm and heaven realm’s qi. It scared the bear. He used his paws to break apart the skill. It broke apart but his skill was also canceled out.

Normally if a heaven realm cultivator was to use this skill the Grizal Bear would have been cut in half but due to Jack infusing his own qi into it to perform the skill. It weakened the heaven’s realm qi. The power was equivalent to a late Master realm cultivator.

Xingxing landed on the bear’s back and stabs into it. Xingxing’s sword got as far as 6 inches before the hair on the bear’s back stood up like it was going to shoot. Seeing this Xingxing left the sword lodged in the bear and retreated. The fur needles shot out. He aimed it all around hoping to hit something.

This Grizal bear was quite annoyed with Jack and Xingxing as his front paws lands onto the ground. Lester shot out from the bushes. He was 5 feet away from the Grizal bear. The Grizal bear’s eyes gleamed for a second and used the back of his paw to knock Lester away.

The reason Lester came out was because he saw an opportunity. He thought the bear lost his balance when he came down from shooting the fur needles, but the bear intentionally left it there for him to see.

Lester took the whole blunt of the paw. His short sword drove into the paw but it was useless since the bear didn't even flinch. The powerful force from the paw dislocated his shoulders and you can hear multiple snaps across his chest. His rib cage was snapped in half from the force of his two hands on his chest when his shoulder joints popped out of his socket. Lester’s body flung through the air like some raggedy doll.

“AAHHH!!” Lester screamed out tears leaping out of his eyes. Blood gushes out from his mouth. He began rolling on the ground with no way to stop. This happened so fast that neither Jack or Xingxing could react to it.

Xingxing’s eyes was filled with hatred at Jack and at the bear. Hatred swelled up from Xingxing’s body and his cultivation rised from two to five in a matter of seconds.

Jack was on the other side smirking. He was not even worry about Lester’s condition at all.
