From that day on Lintian began to hunt more and more demonic beasts in the forest with Dr. Harris. Well, the boars anyway. In a short month he hunted over 400 tier one boars and 74 tier two. Right now killing boars has become second nature to Lintian. If someone ask him in detail about the weaknesses of a boar he can give clear exact details. He managed to open his sixth meridian point. The other kids have about 8 to 10 of their meridian points open and give them another two months their limit will be reached. As for Lintian, his are getting harder and harder to open. It took him a total of 105 tier one boars and a total of 15 tier two just to open the sixth point. Wouldn’t number 7 be even more outrages.

“Lintian I think we are clearing out to many boars. At the rate we’re going by the time you open the 8th meridian points all the boars in this forest will be gone,” Dr. Harris laughs.

“Theres nothing else I can kill being in refinement realm. My movement speed is still slower than those in the martial realm even with these body skills and the soul penetrating punch,” Lintian shrugs.

“Thats true but we can’t keep killing boars or else your mind won’t be as balanced. It is great that your soul energy is strong and your able to resist it for now but, eventual the boars soul energy might fuse. The chances are very low but still a chance. We have to eliminate all possibilities of transformation at the moment. So I decided that you will take a fifteen day break to diffuse its soul. Cultivate your soul energy and it should slowly eliminate the boar’s soul residue. Also your companion might be able to help you hunt down tier three or lower for that matter.”

“What?! How you know?” Lintian asks in surprised.

“Haha you really think I wouldn’t know your companion is hiding nearby? His ability to hide is getting better I must say. Two months ago it use to be so obvious but now I have to actually try. Call him out I want to see,” Dr. Harris instructed.

Since theres no point in hiding it, Lintian sent a mental message for Kyuri to come out.

Kyuri emerges from the forest and out into the open. His color also began to shift too.

Seeing this Dr. Harris was a bit amazed.

“What species of dragon is he?” Harris asks without turning his head. His eyes were scanning Kyuri’s body like a 3D printer’s scanner. Kyuri felt somewhat naked being stared by Dr. Harris like that.

“The Jeholornis dragon but I used my blood on the egg and it seems to have transformed him. My uncle said that the more unique the blood line of the child when buying a companion is the greater its power will become,” Lintian answered. He told a half lie half truth because Harris was distracted so there was no way he would be able to tell if Lintian was lying from his voice. Especially when Harris has basically been teaching him how to spot lies.

“Haha I never knew the weakest species of the Dragon familia could become this strong just from a drop of blood.”

“It was more like a cup,” Lintian replied.

Hearing this Harris was extremely intrigued, “a cup? Interesting. Will he let me inspect him?”

Kyuri shrugged his shoulders like saying whatever and walks toward Harris. Harris place his hand on Kyuri and sent a wave of energy through him. Kyuri’s body reacted and he spread open his wings and his body and tail tensed up.

“Interesting. All his meridian points are opened. All 108 of them. Furthermore his bone structure, wing structure, muscle mass and pretty much everything are completely different from the jeholornis dragon that I know off. I have heard of special bloodline being able to enhance a companions power and fuse their characteristic onto them. I can sense the Asura cells throughout his bodies too so it is definitely true that he underwent a fusion with your blood. This is fantastic. This means that not only are you mentally connected but somewhat physically too. With the companion contract when you reach the martial realm your body will go through a transformation process too. Also if Kyuri has a special abilities you would be able to use it too. Can he speak yet?”

“No not yet. He can understand what I say but he can only speak to me with images and emotions.”

“Give him some time and he should be able to speak. Dragons are an extremely intelligent species. There are some stupid ones but overall they're extremely intelligent. Among all species of demonic beast dragons would reign above all of them. The purer the dragon blood is the stronger they are. Right now there are a bunch of mix bloods among dragons but even the weakest will reach the 5th tier,” Harris preached as he stared into sky.

“Dr. Harris has other Asuras in the past have companions?” Lintian asked.

“Of course. Most of them do anyway. The only problem was that the companions are always generally weaker that the Asuras. I remember reading that one time in the past about 60,000 years ago that an Asura made a pack of equal contract with a phoenix species. Phoenixes have a very special body. They have the power of complete rebirth. Meaning if they are injured and are near their death state they are able to destroy themselves and be reborn with a clean slate. Due to this ability their population aren’t many but also not few. They normally lay three egg every 100,000 years. Now the this Asura at the time managed to get ahold of one of the eggs and make an equal contract with it. The phoenix that came out was absolutely astonishing. Its strength was already comparable to that of a tier one beast. Furthermore it had the ability to absorb other species abilities.”

“Wait absorb other species abilities?” Lintian asked dumbfounded. He might be eight but he understands how special an ability like that is. Just his eyes alone were able to let him fight opponents way above him. Also it saved his life multiple times.

“Yes absorb abilities. With the phoenix blood of rebirth combine with the Asura’s cell ability to absorb other species qi it gave birth to a new ability. The ability to absorb other species ability. For example that camouflage ability your companion has.”

“His name is Kyuri,” Lintian interrupted.

“The ability that Kyuri used earlier camouflage would be one of them. Other ability would be to breath fire, change skin strength, increase cultivation strength, and even invisibility. Anyway back to the story. This Asura with his companion’s ability to steal managed to steal over 1000 abilities. As for how, I am assuming it would be the same as how you absorb from the demonic cores since the demonic cores contain the beasts’ DNA. Anyway it turns out because of the contract of equality the Asura was able to use some of the phoenix’s ability that were compatible with him. After that Asura lived for 4,000 years he couldn’t take this calm life anymore and tried to achieve the peak of his strength and conquer the Asura trial. In the end he went berserk and during the battle the titan that were battling him said that he grabbed his own companion and fused with it. His power increased tremendously and the titans nearly died. Furthermore this Asura was only in the Ancestor realm when he went berserk. If he was any stronger they would all be dead now. When they fused two more titan arrived to aid him. The battle raged on for about an hour. The abilities he kept using were said to be so powerful, that if it was a 1 on 1 battle the Titan realm experts would die in matters of minutes. Eventually the 1000 abilities that the phoenix absorbed had their drawbacks and he exploded. Which killed himself. History states that he is dead but I am not to sure.”

Lintian looks at him in awe. An ancestor level asura is able to take on three titan realm experts in a battle to the death and those experts only survive by luck.

“Lintian do you know what I am most surprised about?” Dr. Harris asks.

“How he was able to reach ancestor realm without going berserk?”

“No. It is how the phoenix was able to absorb over 1000 abilities. I have tried in all my life to reciprocate that even but three was the most I can get to be compatible with each other. I tested this on myself. On one of my expeditions I obtained a special book from the shaman cultivators. This book allows them to test compatibility of a child with their companions. I played around with it but in the end three was the limit a body can take before it starts backfiring. Also two opposite abilities cannot be combine. So I am most confused and surprised at the fact that the phoenix was able to absorb over 1000 abilities and live for over 4000 years without any drawback.”

“It could be the asura cells,” suggested Lintian.

“Even so over 1000 is outrages. From the looks of Kyuri I am going to assume he has two abilities. Dragon eyes and that camouflage abilities. Lintian you should go back and rest and cultivate your soul. Your speed in cultivation is already extremely amazing already and should let your body get comfortable with it before ascending to the next stage.”

Harris help Lintian to his house before he left. Lintian kept a calm expression throughout his whole day with Harris but when he got back to his room he was frantic. This is because Kyuri is a Phoenix Dragon species. PHOENIX! That must mean he has phoenix blood in his system. If so then wouldn’t Kyuri also have the same ability?
