《Rise Of The Rabbit Empire》Prologue: Tank Is Love, Tank Is Life

To those wondering why they can't remember following this fiction, this was a different fiction before and I changed the story. It'll be completely different, so just unfollow me and give me 0.5 star rating; I don't care, I'm only doing this because I feel like it.

Why I changed the story? So I'll have more choice in how I advance the plot. I can focus on the MC's unstable behavior because of how her parents treated her or focus on the war, or maybe both.

[]

What would you do when you get stuck in a game? For me? Have fun. If I can’t get out, then there’s no use in forcing it. Instead of brooding, why not enjoy what’s in front of us?

Too optimistic? Well you see, I’ve been stuck in the hospital for a long time, so I don’t mind spending a long time inside a game. I got hit by a truck when I was in middle school and I’ve been in the hospital ever since.

What about my parents? My family? No need to think about that. They only visit me once a week for publicity. I’m from a well known family, in short we’re rich, and my family doesn’t want to look like they abandoned me; that would ruin their reputation on social media.

They still pay for the hospital and visit me once a week, but they no longer treat my like they did before. The moment I could no longer be of use to them, I was treated like I wasn’t a part of the family.

I guess I’m ok with this because I didn’t have a reason to come back to the real world. It’s fine, I’m not sad that my parents doesn’t care about me. Look, I’m cheerful right?

When Sky VR was released, I got a console as a present from my parents. Present? I bet the creator of the game just wanted someone from our family to play and since I had a lot of free time, my parents gave the console to me.

Whatever the reason was, I was delighted. I could do something else aside from sleeping in my bed. I immediately logged on and created my character.

I wasn’t aware of it, but I was traumatized by the accident, leading me to create a tanky character. I wanted a character that could take on any attack and survive. I picked a beast-kin, a rabbit-kin to be precise, since its stat growth was focused on physical strength, and the knight job class.

I cried a bit after finally feeling my legs, and got more hyped to play. My parents deposited money to my game account, which I used to make my gaming life easier. It was there, why wouldn’t I use it?

When it was time to wake up, I finally noticed that the log out button was gone, and when I got back to the city, I found out the the creator deliberately disabled the log out button. Most of the players were angry, but a few were happy that they could play longer, and I was one of them.

Not long after that, the fact that if players die in the game they die in real life, became public.

From anger, the players felt despair. They couldn’t come back to the real world, and they could die without ever seeing the people they love. For me, I didn’t care. Even if I die, it’s not like I have anything left in the real world.

Years passed and there were fewer players. Most just gave up, but there were few that were motivated to complete the game.

The creator said that if we defeated the final boss of the game, he’d set us free. I was still having fun, so I didn’t join those that wanted to get out. I focused on crafting the best equipment and maxing them.

I soloed dungeons to get materials, and bosses for titles that give good stats.

I still had a lot of money left in the cash shop, and I saved them for upgrading the end game equipments that I was trying to create. I still got lonely from time to time, so I bought a pet: a rabbit-kin boy. Anyone’s fine as long as they have rabbit ears. All rabbits are cute; that’s absolute.

Two years later and I completed my set. From then on, I slowly lost interest in the game.

Now, I’m in the final dungeon, standing in front of the door leading to the final boss, alone. I left my cute little Fluffy, that’s the name I gave to my pet, at my house. Why would I need my pet in the dungeons anyway?

It has been five years since I first played, but now it’s going to end. After I defeat the final boss, it’s back to hospital life. I wonder if my family missed me a bit...I doubt it. I wish I could bring Fluffy back to the real world.

I still have hundreds of potions. I defeated all the sub-bosses while only relying on mana potions...and a bit of defense buff potions.

I was too tanky that my regeneration was enough to keep me alive the whole battle, and even if I died, I can revive.

I have an accessory that lets me revive after I am killed, and it’s cooldown is thirty minutes after I get revived.

It takes a long time since I have low damage and most of my damage comes from my return damage buff, but I’m sure to survive a boss fight. Like they say, slow and steady wins the race.

The dungeon is located deep underground. It is the domain of wicked god Zegan, the one who instigated the rebellion of the celestials and the war between Akasha, the goddess of light, and Vashra, the god of darkness.

He made the celestials kill the gods and made the twins Akasha and Vashra kill each other, to be the only one left to rule the world.

In the game’s story, I am the hero that finds out the truth and spreads it to the other races, who were at war because of their religion. After learning that their gods, Akasha and Vashra, were only manipulated by Zegan, the endless war between them finally ended.

Zegan, who wasn’t pleased by the war’s end, decides to conquer the world with his own strength; and that’s where I come in. I show up to kill him and bring peace to the world. Quite a good back story for the game, makes me think I’m actually a hero.

Ok, one last check before entering the boss zone.

Now “Explosive Barrier! Fortify X!”

Two layers of aura covered my body, one with purple color, and one with orange. The purple one increases my base physical defense by 20%, the one without the equipment multipliers. The orange one will explode outwards when hit, dealing 20% of my physical defense as pure damage. Each lasts for five minutes.

I took out two potions and drank it. One gives me 30% of my maximum defense, including the multiplier of the equipments and buffs. The other gives me 20% damage mitigation. Each lasts for thirty minutes.

Both potions are rare ones that can only be crafted using materials gained from the second hardest dungeon. I had someone, with maxed alchemist profession, make it form me. I supplied the materials and crafted equipments for him, to pay for his work; of course he supplied the materials for the equipments.

Ok, I’m ready. Time to kill the final boss!

I defeated the final boss...after seven hours of standing. I died twice during the whole battle because I miscalculated the time I had to use potions, but it wasn’t a problem with the Immortality ring.

How I fought? I just stood in front of the boss and let my return damage take care of everything. Yes, I literally killed it without any offensive skills. My return damage deals more than my strongest offensive skill, so there was no point in using it. Pure damage is a scary thing.

When the boss’ body disappeared, it didn’t drop anything...good for nothing boss. Moments later, I felt dizzy, which should be impossible since I was inside the game. Is it because I’m getting logged out? So this is really the end...I want to cuddle Fluffy one last time...must...touch...bunny...ears...

I fell unconscious.
