《Forsaking Reality》Chapter 165: Enchanting the Expert

“Hehe. Well? What do you think about it?” Noluck said smugly. He was confident in his technique that he created, it was his most proud work to date and he was absolutely fond of it.
“It truly is profound. It brings along a new concept of enchanting and if it were released in the world it would truly cause a spectacle. This technique is simply priceless.” Akata didn’t know much about enchanting but from the profundity of the technique and what he knew about enchanting, he could tell that it was an amazing technique. So, even Akata had to admit that it was an incredible technique.
“Hohoho! Of course it is because I made it! My Natural Binding Enchantment Zone ability is sought after in the world. Countless experts want to get their hands on it but it just so happens that I was powerful enough to keep it within my grasps.” Noluck praised himself once again.
“Now I’m going to teach you how to identify enchantments and construct them.” Without stopping, Noluck began to speak again. “Enchantments are broken into 3 paths, the Saint Path, the Fiend Path, and the Transcendent Path. Enchantments made from the Saint Path benefit people, whether giving strength or speed. It is a path of the righteous. The Fiend Path isn’t necessarily bad but the enchantments made from this path detriment people, such as absorbing attacks or messing with one’s senses.
The Transcendent Path, however, is completely different from the other two paths. It is a path that is above that of Saints and Fiends and is impartial to the effects of an enchantment. It is mysterious and is seen as a legend. I haven’t ever come across an enchantment that was formed from the Transcendent Path and have only heard stories about them. But, from what I heard, if they do exist then they are able to create wondrous effects. From offsetting time and space to providing energy for whole universes. If they are really out there I hope to be able to make my own one day.” If Noluck had a clear face at this moment, his eyes would undoubtedly be shining right now.
After a bit of awe, Noluck went right back to explaining. “As I’m sure you have guessed, the Enchanting Paths and the Elemental Paths are connected. To put it simply, to create an enchantment from the Saint Path you need to use elements from the Saint Path, to create an enchantment from the Fiend Path you need to use elements from the Fiend Path. Materials are objects that have those elements gathered within them. Some materials have dense amounts of elements while others have special properties.”
Akata became shocked hearing this. ‘I knew there were two paths on the Elemental Tree, the Saint Path and the Fiend Path. But I didn’t know there was actually a third, the Transcendent Path. My new element doesn’t seem to connect to the Saint or Fiend Path, could it be from the Transcendent Path then?’ While listening to Noluck speak, Akata caught onto a piece of interesting information. He quickly stored that info and kept it in the back of his mind to look into later.

“To identify an enchantment only takes a glance for me. Enchantments are a lot like runes in that that are made of a core. The core is what determines an enchantments’ quality and uses. The more complex and/or profound a core is, the higher the quality and the more uses. It isn’t even impossible to mix cores together and create multiple enchantments and form them into one. However, even though cores can be different, one thing can’t change about an enchantment. Because of this one thing it is possible to identify an enchantment.” Noluck instantly got louder.
“What is that one thing?” Akata was actually curious about this topic. It had to be said that at first he wasn’t even interested in enchantments but after learning about them he became generally intrigued.
Noluck noticed this and so he intentionally dragged on his explanation. “Hehe. That is… it’s elemental properties. The elemental properties that makes up an enchantment have to be perfect for it to work. For example, the Prismatic Sound Enchantment is made up of the Inner Element of Sounds from the Fiend Path and Core Element of Wind. Countless enchantments use just these two elements to make themselves, but only the Prismatic Sound Enchantment uses 80% sound element and 20% wind element. That is how you identify enchantments. It can also be seen that since the majority of the elements used come from the Fiend Path, the Prismatic Sound Enchantment is a Fiend Enchantment.” Noluck felt pleased after showing his knowledge.
“So that’s how it is.” Akata seemed to come to a whole new realization after hearing Noluck. Akata’s knowledge greatly expanded upon learning about enchantments from Noluck. Even if he didn’t want to, Akata felt grateful for Noluck’s actions. “Thank you Noluck. I will remember this and surely repay it back”
“Ah enough of that, it’s what I should have done. You’re already helping me by trying to revive my body and whatnot. Besides, I’m an expert so this is nothing to me. Now follow my instructions and I’ll guide you through the enchanting process. First thing, first we should train you to create the perfect balance of elements within the Natural Binding Enchantment Zone. You have to attune yourself to the elements and only gather the right elements and the necessary amount of each element. Try gathering the sound element and wind element in a perfect 4:1 ratio.” Noluck said.
Akata first sighed at Noluck’s boasts and then focused his mind on the task at hand. With guidance from Noluck he began to set up the enchantment zone.
Nature energy surged from Akata. At this point in time, Akata’s Nature Sense was immensely powerful. Only Second Rank cultivators could compare to him in this field. With Nature Sense he could summon nature energy and use it. Thus, not only did he have and abundant amount of nature energy, even his control of it was flawless.

A dome-shaped ‘room’ formed from nature energy appeared around Akata. The room was small as it was only 3 meters in diameter and 1.5 meters tall. Within this room, nature energy filled every ounce of the place. This was the enchantment zone.
Swish swish! Akata’s hands flashed repeatedly as he formed many complex hand signs in rapid succession. The nature energy that filled up the room started to tremble as a powerful pressure emanated from it. Akata closed his eyes at this moment.
Through his Nature Sense, Akata felt as if he could feel countless amounts of elements in the surroundings. He could sense the fire element, soul element, time element, leaf element, star element, etc. With a thought, Akata channeled his intentions through the nature energy and as he did, a vortex formed on top of the dome and sucked in some of these elements.
“Good good. Now focus only on the sound and wind element. Remember, 80% of this room needs to be filled with the Inner Element of Sounds while 20% needs to be the Core Element of Wind. Any other elements should be expelled from this zone. It’s extremely difficult to do so don’t worry if you can’t succeed.” Noluck consoled Akata before he began.
In truth, Noluck didn’t believe Akata would succeed. His technique was so profound and its requirements were harsh to utilize. Not only did one need exceptional control of their nature energy, one also needed exceptional sensitivity. Only by sensing the right elements and controlling your nature energy to draw them in could someone use this technique. Noluck didn’t think Akata truly met these criteria so at this moment he was just training Akata, getting him used to this technique.
Not only Noluck thought this, even Akata wasn’t truly confident that he could succeed right now. This technique was really profound and complicated. He knew the requirements were high and even he didn’t think he could pass them at this moment. But that was just because he had never tried to use his nature energy and sensitivity like this before. With his strength, he knew he could eventually do it given enough time, but as of right now, he wasn’t sure.
What Akata and Noluck didn’t know, however, was that Akata already had the qualifications to use this technique. His Nature Sense and energy could only be matched by plant cultivators in the Second Rank. His control of it was exceptional as well. Back when he took the Eighth Cabin Trial he had awakened his Divine Sense, and at that time it was even stronger than some Second Rank cultivators. Thinking about it, his Nature Sense had always been much stronger than his divine sense. This alone, showed how exceptional it was.
In terms of sensitivity, Akata even managed to comprehend Soul Foresight. Soul Foresight and Nature Sense couldn’t even be compared on the same level as each other. Nature Sense could be seen as rare but was still a regular sensing ability, however, Soul Foresight was a heavenly ability that most people hadn’t even heard of before. It’s sensing capabilities were so profound and accurate that those that have heard of it knew that it could even tell the future! It was simply amazing and couldn’t be described in normal terms.
With these things, Akata absolutely had the capabilities to use the Natural Binding Enchantment Zone.
Akata didn’t even need to use his Soul Foresight as, just with his Nature Sense, he was able to find the sound and wind element out of the countless other elements. Using his powerful nature energy he slowly and steadily gathered the sound and wind element while expelling the other elements from the zone. With his immense sensitivity, Akata gathered the two elements in a perfect 4:1 ratio.
Noluck was extremely surprised by this and looked at Akata in a new light. He began to explain to Akata how to form cores and then make the enchantment.
To Akata, the hard part was already done with. Not to mention forming an apprentice-level core that was meant for First Rank cultivators, Akata was even capable of combining runes together which was something only geniuses that had Second Rank insights were capable of doing. After a bit of time Akata eventually made the Prismatic Sound Enchantment.
The enchantment glittered with a violet light. One could tell by looking that it was a top-class enchantment. Noluck was astonished once again. ‘He actually made a top-class enchantment on his first try. Not even I was capable of doing this when I first started enchanting. How monstrous is this guy’s abilities?’ He thought to himself in wonder.
“Is this good enough?” Akata asked at a loss. He didn’t really know much about enchantments still. All he knew at this moment was that he had actually made one. He didn’t know about it’s quality or if it even worked well.
“Hohoho! Good enough? Heh. See for yourself.” Noluck laughed out.
