《Forsaking Reality》Chapter 164: Natural Binding Enchantment Zone

Akata was at a loss for words. He didn’t get angry at Noluck berating him, instead he felt confusion. What was the big deal?
“In the world there are many similar materials and ingredients. Say for instance, the Soiled Earthbat Ears and the Windsoil Bat Ears. They look, feel, and even smell the exact same way. However, if you were making a Prismatic Sound Enchantment and used the Soiled Earthbat Ears instead of the Windsoil Bat Ears then you would cause a disastrous explosion that had the might of a Mid Grade Second Rank cultivator.” Noluck explained sensing that Akata was confused.
“So I should learn every single ingredient and material there is?” Akata definitely did not want to do that. First off, he didn’t have the patience to do that. Secondly, even if he did have the patience, would he even be able to remember all of that?
“Of course you can’t remember all of that you buffoon!” Berated Noluck once again. “It’s practically impossible to do that anyways, not even I have done that. I’m not even close. What you should do is just memorize the basics. Once you have set a foundation you can do whatever you want from there.”
Sensing that Akata was about to speak again he swiftly cut in. “There’s a book called the Master Enchanting Guide that can help you. It’ll tell you about some materials that you should know about. It gives a detailed explanation on how to identify and use those certain materials and that is what you should memorize. Once you’ve memorized that book then you could be considered an Apprentice Enchanter, after actually making an enchantment you could become a Master Enchanter.”
“So all I have to do is memorize a book?” Akata held his doubts but still went along with it. Since it was a book related to enchanting then surely it would be in this enchantment room. After briefly looking around the room, sure enough on a lonely shelf, Akata found a set of books that were quite tidy and emanated a strange feeling.
There were six books in total and all but one had a special power emanating from it. These books were the Apprentice Enchanting Guide, Master Enchanting Guide, Grandmaster Enchanting Guide, Spirit Enchanting Guide, Soul Enchanting Guide, and the Immortal Enchanting Guide. The Apprentice Enchanting Guide was the only one that didn’t have a special power that wafted from it.
However, after examining them, Akata frowned. “I can’t open the Master Enchanting Guide book. There seems to be some special power that keeps me from opening it.”
“Eh? It seems to be… Hohoho! This sect isn’t simple at all!” Noluck seemed surprised and even somewhat intrigued by what he saw. Without waiting for Akata to question him he instantly began to explain. “It seems your sect does indeed focus on foundation more than anything else. In this case you have to work for the knowledge in these books and set a foundation for yourself.” Noluck began to chuckle.

Akata had his guesses at what Noluck meant but to confirm he still asked, “Are you saying that I have to work my way up through the books in order to read them?” He could tell that he couldn’t open any of the books but the Apprentice Enchanting Guide. Thus he could only learn from that at the moment.
“Hoho! It’s not only that. The other books have a special seal on them that prevents you from opening them. The only way to open them is to actually make an enchantment on top of the book as a key. The enchantment has to be imbued with your power so even if others make the enchantment for you, the contents won’t be showed to you, but to the person who opened it. If it’s like this for enchantments I’m sure it’ll be like this for other professions such as runecrafting, alchemy, and whatnot.” Noluck was actually pleased by this.
But when others felt joy, naturally there were some that felt frustration. Akata was naturally that person right now. He frowned even more deeply and opened up the Apprentice Enchanting Guide. Since all he could do to become a Master Enchanter was to go through the Apprentice Guide then there was nothing to be done. He could only comply and get it over with.
He started reading the words within the book:
The world of enchanting is as vast as the universe
All great enchanters must start somewhere
This book lists 10,000 common materials in enchanting
One must first familiarize themselves with their feet before they begin to walk
The same logic can be applied here
Set a foundation and begin your everlasting journey
Fanged Monkey: Beast species
Fur: brown with green highlights; thick at the base but smooth at the tip; oily feel; extremely durable; smells of Firepeach Leaves with a hint of Yellowstone Barktrees; tastes like Fanged Monkey feces; Uses: Simple Armor Enchantment, Simple Speed Enchantment, Simple Night Vision…
Feces: brown with multi-colored spots… tastes like Fanged Monkey fur…
Akata was immediately taken aback by the first entry the Fanged Monkey. He couldn’t be more familiar with that beast but at this moment he couldn’t help but twitch his eye. This book told him everything there was to know about a Fanged Monkey, even stuff he absolutely didn’t want to know. It was extensive knowledge and very thorough. It was even to the fact that as Akata kept on reading he couldn’t help but be slightly interested. Not at the weird facts, but at the general information the book provided him.
The book didn’t just tell him about the materials, it told him about their origins, weaknesses, uses, habits… all of that was explained within the book. Yet what astounded Akata even more was that this was just the apprentice-level book. There was still much more knowledge hidden within the other books. And based off the power they were emitting, the information they probably provided was even more valuable than this one.

Absorbed in the knowledge of the book, Akata simply found a place to sit and continued to read all of it. Things he didn’t understand or felt like he didn’t completely retain the knowledge of he would go over again and again until he felt like he could remember it. Thus, in this situation. a day had passed unknowingly. In this day, Akata completely remembered the contents of the Apprentice Enchanting Guide. Even though it was 10,000 materials Akata had to go through, he felt as if he still hadn’t seen enough. He was ready to indulge himself in more knowledge.
Sensing how antsy Akata was pick up another book Noluck called out to him. “Ah you gifted brat, don’t forget that to open the next book you must complete the required enchantment.”
Only after hearing those words did Akata remember that his goal was to become a Master Enchanter. The reason it was only a Master Enchanter was that was the minimum requirement for Akata to complete the merging of the powers in the Illusory Phoenix Lily. He was already close to completing it with his superficial knowledge regarding runes so it was only a bit of trouble to complete. A Master Enchanter was sufficient.
“That’s right, how do I enchant? The book only told of various materials but didn’t really explain how to enchant.” Akata now realized he had another headache.
“Bah! You got an enchanter right with you. I can teach you my method of enchanting and have you use that. Heh. My technique is truly profound and other than me, nobody else knows it. It could be seen as your good luck to be given such a fine technique.” Noluck quite boldy liked flaunting his achievements.
Akata couldn’t be bothered with his boasting so he just rolled his eyes and got right to the point. “Yeah Yeah, how about you teach me this technique then so that I can hurry and revive you.” Akata said a bit impatiently. Although he said it like that, he truly wanted to hurry and get to the next book. If the things in the next book were even better than the first book then it would simply be like handing a jadeslip of all his enemies weaknesses that he could utilize. Not only that but the wonders that enchantments could create were simply unimaginable. Akata truly wished he could create magnificent wonders on his own. So he was a bit impatient.
“Hohoho! Look who’s eager to learn some more.” Although Akata tried to hide his anticipation well, how could it escape the eyes of Noluck? He smugly smiled and then continued, “Fine I won’t hold you back from your knowledge quest any longer. Here’s the method that I use to create enchantments. It’s been continuously refined by me after all these years and it’s almost at perfection.”
With a thought, a green beam of light enveloped Akata’s figure as a vast amount of information flooded within his mind. The information was too vast and profound and a searing sharp pain came upon Akata in an instant. That couldn’t be helped, however, as the transference of full techniques was not something easily done.
After the initial pain appeared it was gone within the next few breaths. Akata steadied his bearing and as the information was flowing within his mind, he was actually shocked. It was truly too profound of a technique.
Natural Binding Enchantment Zone
Nature energy locks down an area, within that area all energy is converted into pure elemental energy that supports the enchantment being made
One can then make an enchantment where one so chooses and no longer has to be around an enchantment table
Akata quickly read through his mind and, the more he read, the more astounded he became. After reading through the Apprentice Enchanting Guide, although it didn’t give him any methods of enchanting it did say one fact: you NEED an enchantment table. This was because enchantment tables were essential tools when creating enchantments. They were special in that they converted the energy needed to supply an enchantment. Without that energy, an enchantment was nothing more than a bunch of materials.
But the Natural Binding Enchantment Zone completely dismissed that idea. It made it so one could make an enchantment on the go and didn’t even need an enchantment table. They could simply use nature energy to convert the elemental energy in the surroundings and use that to supply the enchantment. From this, it could be seen how amazing of a technique this was.

Trailblazer
The story of a man who accidentally wrote another world into existence. Everyone breaks away from their mundane daily life in one way or another. Our protagonist, an unfortunate consequence of circumstance, being no different, often escaped the harsh reality of life by writing stories of an alternate world of swords and magic. Though he recognized the difference between reality and fantasy, he could've never imagined what would happen, when the line between the two blurred as lightning struck down from the skies, and his escapism fantasy became all too real... After he came to, he would soon learn that things in the other world aren't quite as he remembered them to be. The world he wrote of had become but a shadow of its former self. Albeit hesitant at first, he sets off on a quest to find out the secrets behind the Trails, yet even then, he can't help but wonder... Can he really bring his world back to its old glory? —————————— I have never written a story before in my life and now I'm doing so in a language I don't natively speak. Groundbreaking quality is probably not something to be expected, but I do my best to keep things readable. With the necessities out of the way, both constructive criticism and other suggestions are very much welcome, and I'll do my best to take them into account when writing future chapters.

Raven: The Beginning
'What's the worst that could happen'? is what I thought to myself as I entered the World of the Veil with a new, experimental machine that the company created. I was originally excited to participate in their alpha test, and now, looking back, I was just a naive little girl that didn't know what it was like to truly suffer. Sarah was one of the world's best assassin players, but she wasn't prepared for getting stuck as a low-level player in a new game. Suddenly she has to struggle just to survive against the monsters of the world, while also keeping her secret from the authorities. What happens when the killing, and the consequences, are just too real? Author's Note (and a Warning): This book is about a normal person that is forced into a fantasy / medieval environment. What could possibly go wrong with our heroine? This novel is a sort of, legacy. I wanted to at least put it out there before I passed away due to a combination of financial difficulty, homelessness, job loss, and my last interview taking up the last of my savings (which I did not get the job). If by some miracle, and I get a job that can give me a pay advance by next week (4/8) and I survive this turbulent time, I will edit this - and the formating of the book). Naruto Retsuden: Toru
[SI/OC Third Shinobi War]Well fought and well done. All of us fight as one. It took me three years to be able to properly read the faded out kanji of the flimsy poster that I keep in my back pocket. The illustration is colourful, bright reds and yellows. Colours that would definitely catch the attention of a child. The poster was carefully placed along the walls and fences of my village, level with the height of a four year old. I thought enlisting to become a Shinobi was a heroic deed, something I needed to do to save my family from poverty and to serve my country at the cusp of war. Then I graduated early to be deployed to the front lines.I am sadly and sorely mistaken. Warnings:Slow-burnNO OP-NESSRomance? What romance?
