《Forsaking Reality》Chapter 158: Lelilio Pu’ Pei

The black-cloaked skeletal figure stood there with its empty emotionless face looking in the direction of the fairy in front of it. It didn’t have eyes but if one looked deep within its eye sockets one would find a crimson glow. A terrifying and strange pressure emanated from the skeleton that completely focused on the fairy. Complete silence reigned supreme at the moment as one could even hear the noise of a bird flapping its wings.
“Spare… spare me.” The fairy was utterly terrified right now. “I… I… I am a fairy from the noble Grand Yaga House in the Celestial Night Forest. My elder sister has some status and she will definitely not let you off if you harm me! My father is an Elder of the Grand Yaga House and he won’t let anyone get away with hurting me. My… My…” The fairy kept on muttering about status and power and other things in order to get this skeletal figure from attacking it.
Of course this skeletal figure was Akata. The reason he looked like this was very simple. It wasn’t a transformation technique or a skill that increased his strength. It was actually a technique that Akata had comprehended back in the sect when he had gained it in the trials. Shattering Heart. It was an “attack” that struck the heart and soul and brought the opponents worst fear into imagination right in front of them. It was actually a technique from Monarch Heartsoul that Akata gained in the 10th trial.
The technique was very profound as it made the opponent’s fear turn into reality. Whatever the opponent envisioned to be the scariest thing would appear in front of them. Everything about what they fear will seem real to them from the appearance, pressure, voice, actions, feelings, place, and time. If a person feared being stabbed hundreds of times while deep underwater, then if someone used this move that person would find themselves at the bottom of the ocean with unbearable pain from being stabbed.
Of course this skill was very profound and Akata wasn’t able to comprehend it to a level where he could cause his opponents mind to falter that greatly to affect their sense of location. At his level, all he was capable of doing was changing his appearance to match his opponent’s fear. In reality Akata didn’t think this move was much so he hadn’t used it but after seeing the effects it had on the fairy Akata thoroughly believed in the power of this technique.
At a high enough level, Shattering Heart was able to see through a person’s fears and create them with unbelievable realism. Of course, it couldn’t physically harm the person as it was just a mental attack, but it was entirely possible to destroy a person’s will to fight or even move. In that state, they would essentially be like a lamb ready to be slaughtered. There would be no resistance at all when fighting that person and it would be simplicity in itself to kill them with a single strike.

“What’s going on? Why did the fairy stop attacking all of a sudden?” One person said.
“Yeah, even the pressure that weighed down on us previously just vanished.” Another disciple spoke and said.
The many disciples started to stand up and look toward where Akata and the fairy were at. All they could see was the fairy that had utter fear in his eyes and Akata who just stood there looking at him.
The fairy’s Grand Yaga Sword was still in the air and pointed at Akata’s throat but it didn’t move even an inch closer to him. Akata breathed a huge sigh of relief before stretching out his hand and grabbing onto the sword. With a single thought, a crimson glow emanated from his hand that was holding the sword as he channeled the Outer Element of Souls through his body. The sword in his hand steadily lost its energy as Akata slowly refined the soul energy within it.
At Akata’s comprehension level in the Outer Element of Souls he was now able to slowly absorb the soul energy within objects if there wasn’t any resistance going against him. Even if a tiny bit of resistance emerged, Akata would be unable to absorb anything.
In a few breaths of time Akata completely absorbed the soul energy of the Grand Yaga Sword. It had to be said that the sword was filled with soul energy. Soul energy was the origin of all life; it contained lifeforce, mental energy, body energy, and any other kind of energy. That was all absorbed by Akata right now and it actually improved his own body.
After absorbing the soul energy of the sword, it no longer had any threatening presence towards Akata. But Akata didn’t dare to be at ease. The sword was made from the Grand Yaga Leaf that the fairy could produce on a whim. Therefore it didn’t matter how many of them Akata destroyed.
Akata didn’t waste time. Using this period that the fairy was dazed and frightened, he hurriedly summoned the Blacksoul Scythe that was a Third Rank weapon and channeled all of his energy into it. Akata was only at the First Rank so using Third Rank items drained him of all of his energy.
“No. No. No no no no no! Spare me! Spare me! I’m a noble fairy! My name is Lelilio Pu’ Pei. I can give you anything you want! Money, pills, techniques, weapons, I can get you anything you want!” The fairy continued to cry out for mercy.
With eyes as calm as a lake surface Akata held the scythe in the air. Black and crimson hellfire arose on the body of the scythe giving off a cold and desolate feeling. An awe-inspiring pressure soon emanated from the tip of the scythe as gold and crimson light shone off of it. A black light was then summoned on the body of the scythe.

Guillotine Slice. Clear Passage.
Akata’s eyes suddenly flickered with dense killing intent as he swung his scythe down with all of his might. How fearsome was a direct attack from Akata when one didn’t have a single defensive measure up against him.
The thing that surprised everyone was that there wasn’t a huge boom or deafening roar that sounded out once Akata struck out. It was completely silent. The scythe completely sliced through the neck of the fairy as easily as slicing through water with the hand. The head rolled to the ground and the everyone could clearly see the fear still lingering within the open eyes of the fairy.
Bang!
Akata fell to the ground panting heavily. This fight had taken a lot out of him. Not only had he fought right after dealing with a fearsome tribulation, he even used so much energy. The Shattering Heart technique was a skill that was even more precious than an immortal skill, from this it could be seen how fearsome it would be. Along with that ferocity one could imagine the energy needed to use it. But not only did Akata use that skill for the time of a few breaths he even used the Third Rank weapon the Blacksoul Scythe. As of this moment his energy was completely spent and was at a dangerous level.
Roar!
“Crap! We still have to kill off these beasts.” Peizhi Xiuying quickly stood up with a pale face and immediately appeared beside Akata to support him. After that she summoned her Grand Life Vine and began attacking the nearby beasts.
Seeing Peizhi Xiuying start attacking, how could the others not join in. Very quickly the human cultivators began to attack the beasts that were still on the battlefield. With the help of the four leaders, it only took a few moments before the whole area was rid of beasts. After all, the four leaders were even capable of putting up some resistance against a Second Rank cultivator.
Akata was extremely exhausted but at this time his mind wasn’t focused on how drained his body was, he was focused on the changes happening to his body at this moment.
White motes of light that nobody could see were being absorbed right into his body. To be more precise, they were being drawn into his dantion. The white motes of light were gathered together inside of his dantion where they transformed into a small pellet.
Akata had gained a new cultivation base. 1st Grade of the Fay Rank. It was a cultivation base from the Fairy Realm. A slight smile appeared on his face that was full of content.
Soon, however something drastic happened. Akata’s face paled as more and more white motes of light flowed into his dantion. The pellet started to split in half and as it did it started to transform. Small translucent wings formed from the two sides of the pellet.
Fay Rank Grade 2. Fay Rank Grade 4. Fay Rank Grade 7. Fay Rank Grade 9.
The wings grew bigger and bigger until they reached the size of Akata’s mortal cultivation body. All of that energy at once put too much strain on Akata’s body at one time and he wasn’t able to take it all. A stream of blood shot out of Akata’s mouth and he immediately lost consciousness.
He had did what he had said he was going to and absorbed the soul of the fairy, but he didn’t expect for it to have such a strong soul. Although Akata’s soul had reached the Second Rank and Lelilio Pu’ Pei was also at the Second Rank, clearly, Akata's soul was much more weaker than Lelilio Pu' Pei's. Lelilio Pu' Pei's soul was so strong that it was able to directly put Akata's new cultivation base at the 9th Grade.
Seeing Akata pass out Peizhi Xiuying started to panic. She flashed to Akata’s side and inspected him. Upon seeing that it was nothing serious and that he was just exhausted she instantly felt relief. With a flash of an incantation she started to heal Akata and other injured people.
Whoosh! Suddenly, a formless and invisible energy gathered within Akata’s soul region. The mysterious energy was very profound and as it gathered together, it started to form a weird symbol. The symbol looked to be ancient looking and very powerful. The symbol glittered for an instant within Akata’s soul region but then it disappeared within that very same instant. However, within that instant a translucent aura sprang up around Akata. Nobody noticed it and neither did Akata as he was resting.

Cinder Souls II
Dark Souls is known as one of the hardest game series to have ever existed and with the third installment of Dark Souls, being Dark Souls 3, the makers of the game decided to not make another. With the licensing of the game being put into limbo, a game company called Virtual World decided to buy the right to make another game in the series, this game was called Cinder Souls. Something was different about this game compared to the rest of the series and that was it is on the World Gear, a device that put your consciousness inside of the game and gave you complete control of your character's body. This game exploded and sold over 5 million copies in the first week since it had something other games didn't. Freedom. You could do 18+ actions, take over kingdoms, destroy guild bases entirely, and even rob NPCs. Of course there are laws in certain areas that prohibited certain actions but that all depended on what guild was in control of the land you are at. There are 4 continents with there being several countries dividing each continent into different sections and each having their own difficulties. The strongest continent of them all is Land of the Gods, which only the most legendary of players can enter and become apart of. It is a small island which only has 10 inhabitants but these 10 people could easily take over any other continent on the planet but decide to lay dormant on the island, waiting for something strong to spice up the game. Each of these 10 players is considered a God in the game and even have their own following base. Each God had major influence over the millions of other players in the game but that was all in the past. Now it is time for an update, a completely new world with new enemies and new beginnings for all and that update is coming soon. Its supposed to arrive in one day in fact. This update would have new quests and new adventures and the game title will be changed to Cinder Souls II, whether you kept your character or not is unknown but what was known was that the real world was excited for this. Since it was an update, you didn't have to repurchase the game so old players began to dust off their old copies and prepare for the copious amounts of fun in store for them. This story follows one of the best players to have ever graced the game, Frew, the God of Miracles, and his new adventures but it is not as expected. Not one of the 14 million players could expect what would be coming up next in Cinder Souls II nor would anyone be prepared for it. *****WARNING, IF YOU ARE HERE FOR THE VIRTUAL REALITY ASPECT IT IS NEXT TO NONE EXISTANT EXCEPT FOR CHAPTERS IN THE FAR FUTURE***** For the original cover picture, check out this link! ----> https://www.pinterest.com/pin/420875527667199123

Trials of a Magic Core
He was brave, and noble, and true. He was also a hunk of crystal floating in a magical circle, brought into existence by the self-styled "Greatest Magus of All Time" to be his personal intelligent magical encyclopedia, filled with every minutiae of the arcane this Magus could stuff into it, all ready and accessible at a moment's notice. But is simply knowing all there is to life? Can he strive for more? Should he? (Writer's Note:) I'm a pretty new writer, so expect delays, errors, inconsistent logic, plot holes the size of a small 4-wheeled vehicle, and a distinct lack of snark. At least from the MC. Also, yes, the cover is an image I made in paint. I have...NO artistic skills. It is a placeholder. Also, I came up with this idea in the shower after a nine-hour RRL binge. SO BEAR WITH ME.

Yin-Yang
Mages in North America seem to have it all – typically from well-off families, and able to manipulate their environment in ways most of the world would never believe. They don’t even have to bother with the mundane details of life like housework, thanks to their sensitives, who also make a useful source for extra magical energy. After all, sensitives have no use for it themselves, and if mages weren’t meant to make use of it, then the sensitives would obviously have some way to prevent that. That a mage can transform a sensitive physically, with no restrictions beyond overall mass and basic biological viability, whereas magic tends not to work directly on any other living thing, is only further proof. And look at the way they live on their own, barely a step above animals. It’s better for them to belong to a mage. Sensitives in North America live on the edge of society and survival – typically so paranoid they avoid hospitals and anything else that could lead to being tracked, many of them with little or no education and no legal identity or existence. Mages exist, and mages want sensitives for some reason, but no one ever comes back to explain what that reason is. Waiting every day for the hunters to notice them doesn’t lead to much motivation or hope for the future. And once they’re captured, they’re the property of someone with a terrifying amount of power over them. Anything is better than capture. Mages are born to be the masters, and sensitives are born victims. Or are they? Jax’s life is turned upside-down when he’s caught by the hunters and sold to a mage. Andreas is still mourning for his previous sensitive, though, unconsciously creating a difficult standard for Jax to live up to, all the more so while still struggling to come to terms with this new reality as Andreas’ sensitive. A runaway sensitive isn’t what Van expects at the mental health centre. Is this a hunter trap, set for him and the rest of the Donovan family by the hunters? The hunters would, after all, love to see them cross the line openly and finally do something they can be charged with. Either way, Miranda’s genuinely in trouble, and he can’t just abandon her to it. Snatching a sensitive out from under the hunters and hiding her is odd behaviour for a mage – but then, Catherine is an odd mage, living in disgrace in the old servants’ quarters of her grandmother’s house, responsible for cooking and housework. Lila owes Catherine her freedom; is there a way to help Catherine achieve her own, and at what price? Tension is building between traditionally-minded mages and those advocating change, and something has to break. *** Yin-Yang includes a small amount of profanity and no graphic sex or on-screen physical violence. However, sex and gender roles and relationships within the mage/sensitive subculture are non-traditional in mainstream North American terms. The key criterion in a primary relationship is not relative sex or gender, but the pairing of mage and sensitive; given the transformation of sensitives by their mages, physical sex is non-absolute for a sensitive, and gender identity can vary as in anyone else. *** *** The way mages treat sensitives is extremely varied and, in some cases is outright abusive. The struggle against that is pretty much the point of the book. It is NOT grimdark or misery-porn! However, if you will be triggered by this, please, don't read Yin-Yang! *** Complete stand-alone novel, 153K words! Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
