《Forsaking Reality》Chapter 122: Cultist Soulfire

Akata could feel a devilish power rising within his dantion region. It was a power that could grow immensely strong at a fast rate. As soon as Akata felt it enter his dantion region he knew what it was. ‘Life force! This is life force from the old man. And it seems that he was a devil kind of creature. But it feels different from regular life force, almost like there is something more to it.’ All of a sudden a thought popped into Akata’s head.
The life force he had received from the old man was abundant to the extreme. In fact, Akata, before he was teleported out, saw the creature growing much older as that white light flashed into his dantion region.
Akata willed it and his crimson rune started to take that life force and and refine it so that it would suit Akata’s need. The crimson rune took it all in and seemed to transform as a devilish energy seeped out of it. The rune started to rotate by itself and soon motes of white light poured out of it and flew back to the dantion region.
In the dantion region it made its way to Akata’s cultivation base where the white motes of light gathered together and formed into small white ball. The ball settled next to Akata’s mortal cultivation base where it then unfurled into a small bat winged creature. It was only the size of the hand of Akata’s mortal cultivation base.
It flew up into the air where it flew around Akata’s mortal head for a few seconds then sat down next to it. It sat cross legged just like the mortal cultivation base. There, it just stayed waiting to grow stronger alongside Akata.
With this new cultivation base, Akata was able to gain some knowledge about it. ‘Demon Realm Imp Rank Grade 1. It seems this is a demonic cultivation base.’ Akata was surprised about this and took in a quick breath. After a few moments he was back to his usual self. Now, he had three different cultivation bases.
‘There’s still that white pellet that was forming when I was refining that wind energy. I wonder if that is also another cultivation base? If so, If I can complete it then I will have four cultivation bases.’ Akata paused his train of thought. He would have four cultivation bases. That was just unheard of. Even having two sounded crazy.
“I want to know why I have more cultivation bases than other people but I don’t know who to tell. It’s not easy to trust others.” Akata shook his head and then stepped down from the doorway. Only a few minutes had passed from being in that trial and it was still night.
Akata made his way to his dorm room where he washed and changed into some better clothes. He had become fond of just pants and a shoulder cloak that just covered over his plant arm. His body was as tough as the 10th Grade so he didn’t really need much clothes for protection.

After changing his clothes he sat cross legged on his bed and thought about all of the trials he had been through. There were trials of battle prowess, mental fortitude, divine sense, body strength, reflexes and perception, soul power, energy control, killing, and strength of will.
“These trials are meant to shape us into some perfect warriors. If you do well in all of them, then you can be seen as a strong warrior. Enough to become a general. That’s why the trials are so important.” Akata said softly.
“I want to go check out the Tower of Clouds. All of the top people of the sect should be there.” Akata stood up and then made his way back to the training field. He walked toward the tower that was in the field. To have access to the Tower of Clouds one needed to have excellent results in the Cabin Trials and also be able to battle against the 7th Grade.
Once he confirmed with the guards that he had completed the Cabin Trials, he was granted entry into the Tower of Clouds. The Tower of Clouds also had another name, 1st Tower Trial. The tower was three stories tall and was made of stone. It was plain on the outside but had a nice view of the sect.
Akata walked into the base of the tower. When he did there was a pillar in front of him that asked for some of his information. What techniques he used, what was his cultivation base at, his age, elements he had control over, etc. Akata answered it all and then a black light shot out of the pillar and into his forehead.
This black light was actually a legacy from a Fourth Rank cultivator to help Akata grow. Akata had access to immortal legacies like the World Omen of Lord Dullahan and the Heartsoul Legacy. But those were just partial legacies that contained some of the techniques of the people who created them. They wouldn’t really be able get him to the immortal realm. This, however, was an actual full legacy from a Fourth Rank cultivator! It would very much so guide Akata to the Fourth Rank.
Akata was granted three golems that would protect him from danger. They were actually comparable to the Third Rank. They could only be used once however and wouldn’t help Akata again until he surpassed them in power. But still, they were a huge trump card.
Akata was given treasures and seals and other things that were considered material gains. Some of the important stuff he was given was a set of armor that was comparable in strength to someone midway through the Third Rank. The armor was silver but could be changed to look like anything. Another thing Akata was given was a black metal scythe. It was cold and heavy but it was powerful. It was much stronger than Akata’s Bludhaven Scythe as it was a Third Rank weapon. Akata’s Bludhaven Scythe was considered a First Rank weapon because it was comparable in strength to a First Rank cultivator.

As soon as Akata touched the scythe, his crimson rune spun around and embedded a crimson pattern into it. Akata felt a new connection to it now. He felt closer to it, sort of like how he felt with his Bludhaven Scythe.
The most important thing about this legacy, however, was the technique that was given to Akata. It was a technique that was suited for people who trained in the scythe and the soul! It was very much so suited for Akata.
In the legacy there was actually a memory of the Fourth Rank cultivator who had come up with this technique. He wore black armor that was designed with flame patterns. He had dark scaly skin and a single horn at the top of his head. Akata simply watched the man, admiring his work and skill.
“I am Cultist Soulfire. This is my Underdark scythe art. It has 9 different arts which can be divided into 81 different skills and further divided into 729 basic movements. This is the first basic movement.” Cultist Soulfire put his scythe arts on display one by one and repeated each one three different times. He was meticulous in his actions and were careful to show them properly.
Cultist Soulfire was actually a demon, which is why his given title was Cultist. But that didn’t change the fact that his skill in the scythe was top notch. It guided Akata far and answered many questions he had. Once he had finished displaying the 729 basic movements he went on to the 81 different skills and then his 9 arts. These 9 arts were truly astounding. They transformed space and seemed to go through everything without any problems. The scythe wasn’t just a weapon in his hand but an extension of himself.
Akata’s understanding of the scythe grew and grew until his understanding actually broke through. He could’ve been seen as having a basic understanding of the scythe but now his understanding could be seen as on the levels of Halfstep Second Rank cultivators.
He picked up his new scythe which was the Blacksoul Scythe and swung it in the air. Space seemed to make way for the scythe and it easily tore through with sheer speed. This was a straightforward attack from the first Underdark technique, Soul Swipe.
The memory went on to explain things about the scythe and how it should be used and what for. It was all of his insights into the scythe. After it got finished with the scythe it moved onto the Outer Element of Souls.
He explained in detail what he thought about the Element of Souls and how he learned to use it. He showed some ways in which it could be used and how it could be incorporated into scythe skills. Instantly, Akata’s insights into the Outer Element of Souls improved drastically.
Cultist Soulfire even went on to explain how the Outer Element of Souls connects with the other elements, even with the other Outer Elements. What intrigued Akata the most was the Outer Element of Khaos. It was the pair of the Outer Element of Souls and seemed to be just like it except one part.
“The Outer Elements of Souls and Khaos are a pair. There is a soul in everything. Whether that be a living being or a non living being, everything has a soul of its own. Likewise, for every piece of something, there is a piece of nothing, this balance creates khaos from the opposing forces. The Outer Elements of Souls and Khaos are omnipresent. The soul has Khaos within it and Khaos has its own soul. They are different yet they are also the same. If you can wield the soul element then likewise you can wield the khaos element.”
Cultist Soulfire lifted up both his hands and a violet and crimson light twinkled within his palms. This violet light was the khaos element while the crimson light was the soul element. “Separately, these elements are known as the most powerful of the Outer Elements, but together they reach a whole new level.” He slowly brought his two hands together and sweat could be seen on his face. Eventually they were close enough as to fuse together but then Cultist Soulfire closed his hands into fists as the lights were dispersed along with the elements.
“That’s all that I have to show you. I hope that you tread far on the path that I have showed you and that you eventually come to make your own path. Good luck fellow cultist.” With that the memory ended.
Akata stood there in front of the pillar shaken. That last bit with the two Outer Elements was truly mind boggling. For someone who had no clue about elements or even about the soul element would dismiss it all together. But for him, it was mind blowing. In fact it brought him a sense of anticipation.
