《Forsaking Reality》Chapter 64: Mirror Reflection

Almost as soon as the illusory aura spread out across the island, it immediately converged toward Lord Tafei. The illusory aura then converged into the Molten Wind technique and when that happened an intense aura of power washed over everything.
He waved his hand causing a purple rune to appear over the Molten Wind. It then sank down into the wind and caused the wind to emit a droning sound. All of a sudden the Molten Wind expanded to become countless times bigger and surround Great Priest Bambe on all sides.
It was in this moment that Lord Tafei had did something that hadn’t been seen or heard about in ages. He combined four different runes together. A combination of three runes was already powerful enough to be nine times stronger than a lone rune. With four runes however, the strength would be sixteen times more powerful than a rune by itself. It was much more powerful than a combination of three runes by almost two times!
“Grand Molten Mist!” Lord Tafei screamed out as he waved his hand toward Great Priest Bambe. The Molten Wind took on a purple hue and spread out across the area and became much more abundant, making the wind look more like mist.
Great Priest Bambe stood there wide eyed at the mist surrounding him as he was at a loss. He truly didn’t know what to do right now. If he could even control a tenth of the Outer Element of Time then he wouldn’t be in such a dire situation, but alas, he didn’t have the skill necessary to do so.
He gave a bitter laugh as he watched the Grand Molten Mist completely break through his Sands of Time technique and speed toward him. There was nowhere to escape to so he just closed his eyes and waited.
Boom!
Great Priest Bambe was engulfed in the Grand Molten Mist as it completely took him over. He didn’t even have the chance to scream as his body was instantly destroyed. A huge crater could be seen where Great Priest Bambe had once stood, but all that was there was dirt and not a single body part, not even ash remained.
Lord Tafei coughed up multiple mouthfuls of blood as he fell to the ground. The Grand Molten Mist dispersed into nothingness as he fell and was soon gone as if it had never existed. Lord Tafei’s aura grew extremely weak as he continued to cough up more blood. The price he had to pay to use a four rune technique was tremendous. In fact, if he hadn’t succeeded in combining them together, he likely would’ve died!
Drenched in his own blood, Lord Tafei just laid there on the ground. He could hear the sounds of fighting that was going on within the cave still. Apparently nobody noticed that Great Priest Bambe had died just now. Once they did, the fighting would surely decrease bit by bit until the traitors completely lost their morale and gave up.

It was with great willpower that Lord Tafei forced his body to remain conscious and aware of his surroundings. It was an arduous task for him at the moment to even breathe. He focused all of his effort into one thing, to observe what Akata was doing. And he found that Akata… just twitched his body!
It was a simple movement, however, to Lord Tafei it was a great weight off of his shoulders. He passed out with a smile on his face. He didn’t know how many casualties would become of his tribe, he didn’t know the condition of his wife, and he didn’t know whether his father would be completely healed. But what he did know was that Akata, this unknown young mysterious boy that happened to appear on his island on day, was back in action.
A giant purple rune was floating above the body of the sleeping white tiger inside of Great Lord Taple’s dantion region. It sent out a massive aura of illusions and weighed down on everything. The sealing effect from before was actually starting to wane as though it might be broken through.
‘This is a great amount of sealing strength. But, I have to break through it somehow. The only way I can think to break out of this is to… become strong enough that it won’t affect me. In order for me to be that strong, the first step is that I have to see myself be that strong! So that is what I’m going to do.’ A profound and determined glow appeared within Akata’s eyes. ‘Mirror Reflection!’ Akata screamed inside of his mind.
All of a sudden the area in the dantion region shook greatly. The purple rune in the sky glowed brightly and an intense aura spilled out of it. Akata’s face greatly paled and blood dripped out of his mouth. But even though this happened he still continued on, pouring more power into this attack.
He rotated his red rune in an attempt to power it. He found out that it actually strengthened and brought more pressure upon the sealing effect. Thus, Akata was able to use his cultivation base now. He hurriedly poured his mortal cultivation base in and then his plant cultivation base. After that the pressure increased again. With bloodshot eyes, Akata went all out to power the purple rune, pouring in his mental energy, nature energy, and the energy from his gold rune, all to strengthen the purple rune. He was determined to break free from this sealing effect.
The ground shook violently as the purple rune started to spin around slowly. Then it started to speed up and spin faster and faster. Akata’s eyes twinkled and he coughed up a mouthful of blood. The pressure from the purple rune right now weighed down on everything in the dantion region. It was even enough to sway the sealing effect a bit. But that bit allowed Akata to do one thing… raise his hand.

Akata slowly raised his hand toward the sleeping white tiger, struggling the whole way. With great effort he managed to point at the tiger. After coughing up another mouthful of blood, he grit his teeth and hoarsely said, “Descend!”
All of a sudden the land seemed to crack in places. The pressure from the purple rune doubled and then tripled sending massive shockwaves rumbling out. The shockwaves made the patches of green on the sleeping white tiger tremble slightly. A voice spoke out clearly with disbelief.
“What?! You’re able to break away from my Plant Life Seals technique?! How in the hell are you able to do that?!” The plant cultivator screamed out. As he was speaking, his voice kept decreasing in volume until finally he trailed off and you couldn’t hear his final words. That was because his mouth was gaping open and he was staring wide eyed at the purple rune. No, he wasn’t looking at the purple rune, but what was coming out of it instead.
Right at this moment a giant fingernail could be seen descending from the purple rune. It was about five meters wide and slowly left the purple rune. After a bit of time, the finger became visible as well. It was simply enormous, about the size of the head of the sleeping white tiger.
What shocked the plant cultivator most was not that the finger was so massive or that it was descending, but the fact that whatever the finger was doing, so was Akata! Akata could be seen also slowly bringing his finger down, not because he wanted to make it dramatic, but because it took a lot of effort from him.
His face riddled with sweat, Akata endured his rapidly draining energy and let his finger approach the sleeping white tiger. The finger was so massive that even when it was within a meter of the white tiger, not even half of it could be seen out of the purple rune.
Finally, the finger touched the sleeping white tiger. The tiger started to tremble as it was washed over with boundless nature energy. That’s right, nature energy.
Akata was using the finger to get close to the white tiger and sweep it over with nature energy to consume the energy of the green patches. That was his plan to get rid of the sealing effect.
As the nature energy washed over the sleeping white tiger, it seemed to be awakening. The nature energy quickly spread across the white tiger madly absorbing the energy of the green patches. They simply had too much power hidden within them.
A small patch that was only half a meter wide already contained more foreign life force within it than what Great Priest Bambe had in his whole body. And there were tens of green patches, if not hundreds of varying sizes.
Luckily, Akata had poured all he had to give in order to fuel the finger and therefore everything within the finger was strengthened to a whole new level. This included his nature energy which rapidly absorbed the green patches and turned it into energy for himself.
This finger was connected to Akata and therefore could be counted as an extension of him. When the finger was being strengthened by the foreign life force so was all the energy that was used to make it. That in turn returned to Akata to strengthen his energy as well. As of this moment all of his energy ws being strengthened at a rapid degree.
His nature energy, mental energy, mortal cultivation base, plant cultivation base, red rune, gold rune, even his illusion element was being strengthened at an alarming rate. In an instant his plant cultivation base broke through to Grade 4 and his mortal cultivation base to Grade 5. But even then it kept on increasing madly. After a few breaths of time his plant cultivation base broke through to the 5th Grade and his mortal cultivation base reached the peak 5th Grade.
Not only was his cultivation base increasing at a fast rate but also his nature and mental energy. The more life force he absorbed the stronger his nature energy became, thus allowing him to absorb more faster! It was an endless cycle and even after ten minutes of absorbing madly, he still wasn’t done.
During this time he had reached the 6th Grade of the Seed Rank and the 7th Grade of the Mortal Rank. His nature energy had increased by triple and his mental energy had become much more refined. Both of his runes glowed much more brightly than before and spun faster. His Inner Element of Illusion had also become much more stronger.
Finally, after a few more minutes, Akata was nearing the last of the life force within the green patches. By now, he completely focused on the green patches and absorbing each and every one of them. As he finally saw the last few, a smile broke across his face.

Core Chronicles
Core Chronicles is a series of interrelated stories, including in-depth major story arcs and shorter side stories about Cores and those affected by them through direct and indirect means. The first arc is planned to be Dungeon Core with City Building elements in an Urban Fantasy setting. It will mainly follow one main character's point of view, but on occasion, the POV may shift to side characters to give more information about what is happening in the wider world. The stories will also examine how the world changes with the introduction of magic and its various purposes. The System will be between soft and crunchy, with discrete levels and stats for characteristics and skills. But, for example, the health statistic will be a less clear indicator rather than a distinct stat.

A new virtual reality game has just been released, different to any that have come before it. The peoples of Lorinas are not mere abstractions, though, but complex AI with their own thoughts and motives, living in a rich and dangerous fantasy world! Follow the tale of John, the uninteresting author self-insert character, and his sexy AI handmaiden Jade, as they pursue success in a game where their decisions can mean life or death! This story is supposed to be a dungeon lord like story in a VR multiplayer setting, I hope people who read it enjoy it. Partially ghostwritten by the incredibly handsome and clever Sniggyfigbat, and edited by the occasionally competent Dosahder.(Warning: this synopsis might not be entirely objective) (Upload schedule is highly irregular due to having to match three different plannings) more tags might be added in the future. Also it is my first story so please point out spelling and grammar mistakes.
