《Forsaking Reality》Chapter 38: And...

Akata gave a cold snort from within the dispersing Snow Tempest. He was standing in the middle of it and had on a calm face. His skin was in perfect condition with no visible signs of harm. The blood that was in the tempest wasn’t his at all, it was stored up blood that he had accumulated and planned to absorb later. He merely released a bit to help move along his plan.
Akata had his nature energy spread out the whole time he was fighting Ming Xu. In fact he wasn’t even focused on Ming Xu at all since she gave her answer earlier. He could tell that she had nothing to do with Peizhi Xiuying and had no knowledge of her death at all.
His nature energy had the ability to sense his surroundings. That included the various emotions of living beings in the area. This was why people who practiced using nature energy could surprise attack someone perfectly; because they could sense when they were completely off guard!
Akata used this to sense Ming Xu’s emotions when he asked her about Peizhi Xiuying. At the time her emotions immediately turned into utter surprise and disbelief. Because of that Akata knew she had nothing to do with Peizhi Xiuying’s death. So instead of focusing on her he sent his nature energy out to cover over the area of Xiun Wu and Xi Fe.
He saw how Xiun Wu sent someone up to instigate the fight, so he played along with it. After hearing Xiun Wu shout towards Ming Xu he became aware of how distant Ming Xu was in a commanding role. From Xiun Wu’s words Akata could tell that he was using Ming Xu. And from Akata’s nature sense he could feel the sinister emotions emanating off of Xiun Wu.
This made it clear to Akata what was going on. From the beginning he had suspected that Xiun Wu had something to do with the attack in the forest. From his last words Akata immediately knew what happened with no question.
‘Tsk. And he sent someone to tell me that Peizhi Xiuying could be brought back if I take out Ming Xu. He desperately wanted me to go all out. If it wasn’t for the fact that I saw him send that person I might have fell for it.’ Akata’s heart twinged with pain.
His eyes had went wide with surprise at the method Xiun Wu used to try and provoke him. If he truly didn’t see Xiun Wu send that person over he might have really killed Ming Xu. After letting out a long sigh he turned and faced in the direction of Xiun Wu with cold eyes.
Akata waved his hand and the Snow Tempest immediately flew apart. The tempest might have been able to heavily injure a normal cultivator at the 3rd Grade or even kill them, but Akata’s body strength alone was at the level of the 5th Grade. How could a trifling attack such as this injure him in the least?

Everyone around saw Akata blast apart the Snow Tempest and were stunned to see that he was perfectly fine. For them, who all were below the 3rd Grade, that Snow Tempest mixed in with the Whiteout Gale Shards was a truly terrifying ability. Yet Akata was unharmed by it, just how terrifying was Akata then?
Xi Fe’s eyes went wide when he saw Akata unharmed by the Snow Tempest. He had to question himself to think if he could even come out unharmed by that attack. Xiun Wu raised an eyebrow in confusion as he saw Akata emerge from within the tempest.
Akata looked at Xiun Wu coldly and spoke. “Ming Xu, do you concede or not?” He was still facing Xiun Wu with cold eyes but spoke to Ming Xu. He didn’t feel like dealing with her anymore and instead chose to ask her if she felt like continuing.
Ming Xu, along with the other cabin members, could instantly tell the true meaning of his words. ‘You can’t beat me, so give up.’ Those words were unspoken but resonated in the mind of Ming Xu. She stared at Akata wide eyed. Unconsciously, she looked over to Xiun Wu who was staring at Akata with cold eyes. She didn’t know what to do.
“Give up… you’re no match for him. Clearly you can see that can’t you? There’s no reason to continue this fight when you have no hope of winning. I thought this would be too big of a task for you.” Xiun Wu spoke out towards Ming Xu. His voice echoed throughout the area, it was cold and emotionless.
A loud cold snort immediately resounded after Xiun Wu’s words fell. “WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TALKING TO MY SISTER LIKE THAT?! YOU MUST BE BEGGING ME TO TEAR YOU INTO PIECES THIS VERY MOMENT!! YOU’RE NOTHING BUT TRASH IN MY EYES AND I SHOULD HAVE TAKEN YOU OUT THE FIRST TIME I SAW YOU!! TSK. YOU’RE NO MATCH FOR ME!! HOW ABOUT YOU SAY THOSE WORDS AGAIN HUH? I DARE YOU! I DOUBLE DARE YOU TO! I SWEAR I WILL RIP YOU TO SHREDS!!
As the words rang out, the cultivators at the 1st Grade felt their ears go numb and some even fell unconscious. Ming Lu was truly enraged right now. She couldn’t even restrain herself at the moment as she strode forth and flashed an incantation gesture and pointed toward Xiun Wu.
“CRIMSON BLIZZARD STORM!” As her voice fell a cloud about thirty meters in diameter appeared above Xiun Wu. The cloud was a dark grey and brought a freezing sensation to the area. Grey ice crystals began to fall from the cloud. First one at a time and then a whole storm could be seen falling.
The ice crystals tore through everything they touched. The ground, the arena floor, and even some people who couldn’t escape in time. Those people were shredded into pieces and their blood turned into ice. The blood ice then raised up into the air to be absorbed into the cloud, then the cloud took on a crimson glow. The ice crystals that shot out of it now were a bit reddish now and were sharper than the previous ones. As more blood was added to the cloud it expanded in size and grew stronger.

Ming Lu held no concern for the people she was cutting through because those people were followers of Xiun Wu. They were all members of the Cloud Rift Crew. She would use them to strengthen her attack and annihilate Xiun Wu.
Xiun Wu looked over at Ming Lu and gave a cold snort. “Give up… you’re no match for me.” He spoke out coldly as he flashed an incantation gesture and pointed in the air. “Celestial Storm.”
A cloud that was just as big as Ming Lu’s appeared above the one she had just made. It was a golden cloud that looked like it belonged amongst the people in heaven. It gave off the aura of a supreme figure as it appeared. Rumbling could be heard from the golden cloud as a giant raindrop tinged with gold formed and fell from the cloud. The raindrop looked to be the size of a small meteor as it crashed down onto the crimson-grey cloud below it. Instantly the crimson-grey cloud dispersed.
The meteor sized raindrop didn’t stop there as Xiun Wu waved his finger and pointed toward Ming Xu. “There’s no reason to have trash follow me around.” The raindrop flew in the direction of Ming Xu with the aura of supreme might.
Ming Lu was panting because she had used all her strength to summon that storm of ice. Her face was pale yet she still had a cold look in her eyes. When Xiun Wu summoned a domineering cloud of his own and destroyed hers, it was shocking. He had destroyed way too easily and casually too.
“Was he hiding his true strength all this time?” She regained focus just in time to see the raindrop approaching, not her, but her sister Ming Xu! She flashed an incantation gesture and an ice crystal about a meter in length appeared. She pointed in the direction of the raindrop and the ice crystal flew. “Not good I can’t make it in time!” She had spent all her strength before and the speed of the ice crystal was too slow.
Akata stood to the side with cold eyes watching what was taking place. When he saw the raindrop approaching Ming Xu he gave a cold snort. “If I don’t want them to die then… they’re staying alive!”
Akata activated his Shadowfeet skill and took a step forward, instantly he was in front of Ming Xu. He pulled his arm back and it started to glow with a gold and red light. He clenched his hand into a fist and a small illusory rock could be seen just above the knuckles. The illusory rock grew in size and as it did the pressure in the area increased greatly.
The ice crystal which was barely formed by Ming Lu instantly shattered into pieces raining down on the members of the Cloud Rift Crew below. The giant raindrop slowed down a bit and wavered some but still continued. Akata gave it a cold look and then sent a punch out. The punch sent the illusory rock flying through the air, it gathered the energy in the area and grew in size until it was a quarter of the size of the raindrop!
The raindrop staggered a bit from the increasing pressure until it stopped completely. It couldn’t move further anymore! Xiun Wu’s eyes went wide as he flashed another incantation gesture sending out another equally sized raindrop. Blood oozed from his mouth as he flashed another incantation gesture and pointed to the two raindrops. “Heavenly Waterdrops!”
The two giant raindrops trembled and then emitted a golden glow. The two then converged together and as they did they sucked in the surrounding energy as well! The raindrop sucked in the energy in the area, strengthening itself and becoming bigger. The pressure from it actually stronger than Akata’s illusory rock!
Akata’s eyes became colder as he, surprisingly, flashed an incantation gesture of his own. ‘This needs to work. I’m not good with magic but I’ll try my luck with it now.’ His killing intent bellowing out he pointed at the illusory rock. “Astral Obliteration!”
Blood oozed out the corners of Akata’s mouth and he eventually coughed up multiple mouthfuls of blood. His body even visibly withered at the cost of using this attack. He was pouring his all in it in order to make this work.
The illusory rock trembled greatly in response to Akata’s will. A bright golden light erupted out of the illusory rock. The ground shook and cracked under the intense pressure being exerted by the illusory rock. The cracks spread wide and rocks of all sizes started to rise into the air. The rocks flew toward the illusory rock as if feeding it, and in response the illusory rock became more corporeal.
Akata coughed up one final mouthful of blood before shaking his head. “This is all I can do for now.” The illusory rock was now about one percent corporeal but even that one percent caused such a backlash on Akata. His face still cold he sent out the rock to combat the giant raindrop.
Everything happened in a mere breath of time! It was a shocking scene. The pressure in the area was too great and anyone under the 2nd Grade would be crushed to death in an instant. The two attacks closed in on each other and…

Blaze
The story of a fire elemental's life in a world dominated by mages. He will have to learn how to manage betrayals, treachery, and maybe even love as he goes on adventures to find a meaning to it all. From dark, humble beginnings he will rise... or fall, devastating amounts in his journey across the world. Hello, Author here! I am, unfortunately, rather terrible at coming up with descriptions that seem to have the right amount of decorum and yet actually serve their function of adequately describing the story, so here's the coursenotes. - The story follows a fire elemental. (As you can tell from that, it is heavily besed on fantasy with mages and the like. Technology will not feature prominently) -As mentioned in the tags, this will have game-like aspects. (E.G. levels, stats. I will be trying to put my own twist on this notion however, so bear with me if the premise intrests you but you despise LitRpg) -It'll get rather dark, but not devastatingly so. (I'm trying to write a more complex story so it will have its dark moments, the prologue being one of them. Rest assured the whole story will not be this dark, though I'll make sure that no-one is a saint either) -The protagonist/protagonists will not be a Mary-Sue. (The plural will be understood when I'm further into the story. They also won't be impossiby unlikeable such as those in many Light novels.) -There is no prophecy (Anyone who says there is, is lying, trust me.)
