《The Monster App》Chapter 47 - Thrall

Bison rushed out of the passenger JTD the moment Ben mentally messaged him about the threat to the evacuation. He saw Albert being struck by the Scorpionfly's tail which injects a venom that causes Albert's Moth fusion form to visibly change from white to purple. Bison was paralyzed by the shock of seeing his closest friend being stuck down right in front of his eyes. Travis and Selvaria were caught off guard, but after processing what they witnessed, they launched their attacks on the Chimera.
Selvaria. "Let him go, you Freak!"
She yelled as her body grew a Draconic tail, claws, and skeletal wings made from Ice. She uses her wings to launch her body into the air before creating a scythe blade at the end of her tail which is then swung towards the Scorpionfly's tail. However, the attack fails as the Ice shatters against the Granite Carapace. Meanwhile, Travis's eyes shoot out a concentrated beam of heat from his eyes that temporarily blind the Chimera before grabbing Albert's collapsed body with his talons and flying up into the air. Freak's compound eyes regenerate quickly, and he can soon see again.
Freak. "Thrall! Take his Mana!"
Albert's red eyes open up, focus on the giant leaf-covered Harpy Eagle body, and hit it with Chandra's wrath. Fortunately, Travis isn't damaged by it, but he could no longer use mana-based skills unless he absorbed Mana from trees. Meanwhile, Selvaria continued her offensive on Freak unleashing several close combat techniques she learned over the last two decades that involved Eastern Martial arts. Somehow Freak's body could dodge half of them using his Compound eyes, but those connected failed to crack the Granite armor. Finally, Commander Ethan led the twelve Marines wielding Heat blades as they charged towards the location where Freak was fighting.
The Chimera knew he would not be able to fight against so many opponents alone right now as its mana reserves were too low to activate his best skills. One of the voices in his head suggested an idea that won the majority approval.
Freak. "Thrall! Summon an undead-army to protect me!"
The Chimera had seen Albert control the dead as long as he had some Mana in him. From the grip of Travis's Eagle Talon's Albert wings, discarded moon dust fell towards the JTD cargo plane. In a few seconds, the Marines heard the roars of the Icebugs as over two dozen of them rushed out.
Ethan. "Men, Deal with them! I will go and stop the Chimera."
The Marines stopped their charge towards the Chimera and grouped themselves into an arrow formation before holding their heat blades in front of them at a horizontal angle. The Icebugs slammed their bodies into the greatsword-shaped heat blades that cut through the Ice armored carapace like a hot knife through cold butter. But these walking corpses felt no pain and swiped the Marines with the claws on their limbs that couldn't penetrate the Crustacean armor on their targets. Finally, the Marines in the rear threw mini-incendiary pellets at the bugs who opened their jaws to bite at the soldiers in the front. The explosion blew the Icebug heads from within, and their bodies fell back to the ground, dead once more.

Captain Razack. "Target their heads!"
The Marines roared a war cry as they beheaded the Zombie Icebugs. Then, more zombies poured out of the cargo hold of the JTD and joined the battle against the Marines. By now, Bison recovered enough of his senses to order his butler to bring out his monster 'Small Horn'. A massive beast around 4.75 m (15.6 ft) in length and stood about 2.3 m (7.5 ft), weighing 2,000 kg (4,400 lb). One of the largest ruminants ever, rivaled in mass only by the modern Giraffe. Its long curved horns are 213 centimeters (84 in) from tip to tip, and they look to be made of Diamond. Bison pats it on the beefy shoulder and then checks the status of the skills on the monster app.
[Monster: Diamond Brute Bison (Small Horn)
Type: Body, Mountain, Defence, Beast, Metal
Mastery: Melee Weapons
Skills: Horn Manipulation (Expert), Vulcan's Fur (Intermediate), Bull Rush (Expert), Minotaur's Rage (Expert)

Vulcan's Fur - The thick hide on the beast can be transformed into heavy Tungsten Plate armor.
Bull Rush - The Monster becomes a Juggernaut when it builds momentum and charges straight.
Minotaur's Rage - The monster can pop out ten Diamond spikes over its armor for five minutes. The cooldown is ten minutes before it can be reused]
Bison. "These skills should be enough to crack that Chimera... activate Monster Fusion combat style."
While Bison transformed into his Minotaur form, Ethan had already completed his and engaged the Chimera in close Combat. He activated Primordial Roar, which caused Freak to hesitate with his attacks and retreat from Ethan, who uses the skill 'Berserker Madness.' Ethan temporarily gains three times the strength, but he loses the ability to differentiate between friend and foe. Selvaria gets whacked by his crocodile tail that sends her flying into the stadium's first-level seating area. Ethan had been aiming the attack at Freak, but the Chimera was able to dodge it with the help of its compound eyes that could see it coming. Ethan continued his savage attacks on his opponent and managed to land two blows, but the Granite armor held up, but significant cracks were covering its surface.
Travis quickly drops down to inspect her condition, but he finds her unharmed as she had used her Draconic Ice Skeletal Wings and tail to absorb the crash's impact. As she slowly gets up, the Ice Scale armor and Draconic appendages crumble away to reveal her Human form covered in Seal fur. Her wounds were visibly being healed at a pace that could be seen by the naked eye.

Travis. "You are full of surprises, aren't ya?"
She turns to Travis and nods her head in gratitude for his concern, but her eyes lock on Albert. Unfortunately, the poor guy still suffers from the venom, causing him to murmur in his pain.
Albert. "Have to protect... must kill everyone who wants to hurt him."
Travis applies pressure with his Talon to prevent Albert from struggling to get free.
Selvaria. "We need to extract the venom. It will stop Freak's control over him and the zombies."
Travis. "I was taking him to Dale since he possesses a miraculous healing skill to fix this, but he is preoccupied at the moment."
Selvaria. "With what?"
Travis. "It seems the Icebugs broke through into the stadium a few minutes ago. Dale and my clones are holding them back on the far side till we finish this fight with the Chimera and take off."
Selvaria. "That means we are running out of time. We need to stop the fight, so I have no choice but save Albert myself."
Travis. "You have a healing skill on you?"
Selvaria did not respond as she placed her hand over the chest wound where the Chimera penetrated with its stinger.
Selvaria. "Execute Nanite transfer! Purge all toxins from the target!"
From the palm of her hand, a mist of silver Nanites pour out into the air and then dig their way into Albert's wound. Travis is shocked by what he sees, and realization dawns on him when he studies Selvaria, who seems to be losing her vitality from the procedure.
Travis. "You really are from the Moon... only they have the technology to control nanites like this."
Selvaria. "What will it take to make you believe that I am an Admiral?"
Travis. "Kid, we can discuss that later."
Within half a minute, the venom inside Albert's Moth's body gets expelled from his mouth, and the color of his body returns back to normal. The Zombie Icebugs battling the Marines pause their movements which surprises their opponents. Albert's eyes return to normal, and he starts murmuring.
Albert. "What happened?"
Selvaria. "I managed to extract the venom. You should be in control of your skills now."
Travis."Get your corpses to stand down, son!"
Albert blinks in confusion a few times to process the information before closing his eyes to order his Zombies to return to the cargo hold along with the remains of their brethren. The Marines sigh in relief and turn around to assist their commander, but they see a Minatoaur rushing straight into the Chimera from behind. Its horns are angled horizontally and are spinning like a drill. The heavy Tungsten plate armor gleams as the sunlight reflects the Diamond horns and metal.
Freak had recovered from the Primordial roar and was in the middle of his counterattack on Ethan when he sensed the Earth vibrate under his feet. His compound eye noticed the incoming threat and tried to get his body to move out of the way, but the Berserker Crocodile swatted him with his tail towards the Diamond Drill horns of the incoming Minotaur. Unfortunately, the Granite Carapace was already cracked, shattered under the penetrative force of the Diamond Drills, and spilled green blood all over Bison's heavy Tungsten plate armor. Freak's head fell to the ground, his compound eyes looked around in disbelief at what had occurred. They soon see a massive hoof that comes crashing down on his head. Some of the voices rejoiced, a few cried in horror, and the rest felt relieved that the end had finally come.
Ethan was still in a Berserker Madness state, so he could not regain his senses even though the battle was over. He charged towards Bison but stopped himself when Albert flew in and hit him with a Chandra's Pure thought's skill that restored his mind. After that, both he and Bison deactivated their combat styles. They hear explosions from all over the stadium as Icebugs begin pouring out of the new tunnels they bored from below. Dale flies over to rain down fireballs on the newcomers before yelling at the Tamers and Marines to get on the JTD before it's too late.

Jessica Brown found herself conscripted into the US Magical Corp, a new branch of the US Military, and shipped off to a Pillar Fort. Somewhere hot and muggy in her ancestors’ home of Africa. Isaka Smith - is a third generation American and farmer who just wants to be left alone. But she is dragged into the situation by events beyond her control. When people in her small town had to deal with rioters and looters after the system announcement, she rallied them to defend themselves, earning her a trait that the government found extraordinarily useful. After a visit to a local reservation, she finds herself conscripted to lead one of the many small support towns erected around the great pillar forts. Not near her old home, but in far-flung Africa. John McIntire, the “Fighting Bull” -The commander of the African Fort, but because of circumstances beyond his ability to contend with shortly after taking command after being re-activated from retirement, he finds communication with his chain of command increasingly difficult. The African Union is embroiled in a bitter civil war just outside his door, and supposedly, most of the world governments are in similar situations. Meanwhile, John must do his best to be ready to facilitate diplomacy, or to match the hostile argument of whatever force might come through the pillar of light when the year timer finishes counting down. Can our heros defend Earth from outside threats, while it tares itself apart? Or will they need to rebuild from the ground up? UPDATES TUES/THURS after chapter 5 Cover art by Tumblr User: @pigeon-princess This book features characters that are related to in many ways to my other novel "Grimoire". While both stories are their own stand alone series, Sun God's Corruption will add a good amount of depth to Grimoire, and Grimoire shows the unfoldings of the world that will eventually come from the events in Sun God's Corruption. I reccomend reading them both interchangably.
