《Author Vs Protagonist》Chapter 25: Like A Wimp Part 2

What kind of being is a Level 9 Martial Practitioner? Well... To be honest, Zhang Wei didn't actually know. However, it sounded quite powerful. So Zhang Wei was surprised nonetheless.
*facepalm*, Oh Zhang Wei you special special child.
Well not exactly knowing how he would fare against this city's experts is quite worrisome to Zhang Wei. He had always thought to just risk it and challange some experts in the city hall, but he was not one to just throw his life away. There could be an expert that can take his little life in less than a second.
He also thought of asking the Author, but the Author is pretty selfish. The only time he gives Zhang Wei any sort of advantage is when he wants to create an interesting plot. Other times, he just leaves Zhang Wei to fend for himself. If for any reason Zhang Wei died, then the sadistic Author would probably just get someone to just take his place.
The very thought of that just gve Zhang Wei the creeps.
That only leaves the system .... Zhang Wei was quite terrified of the system as well. Every time he asked the system for anything, there would always be a terrible side effect. And while the side effect doesn't restrict any of his abilities, it would give him mental pressure. Adding up Zhang Wei's current nature, he would be able to live with it.
Should I? Damn... There's not much choice is there. Screw it, I'll just be ugly forever then.
"Oi system, do you have any ways to check out other people's stats?", at this point, Zhang Wei just hoped that the system would at least be a bit merciful.
"Oh? You ask for my help again? Why are you so useless. Can't you do anything yourself. Haiz.. Well there is a way. You just have to enable to previous function, the one where it allowed you to see the value of your Spirit Energy. Just target someone and you can view their stats instead, now stop bothering me with your problems."

Zhang Wei felt sour, Do I have to look like a wimp again? Oh wait a minute. I have the Face Concealing Mask on. Maybe It can conceal it.
Zhang Wei smlled internally. He finally found a loophole. As long as the system doesn't correct it, there may be a chance that this could work.
He opened his status and turned on the function. There was the perfect guinea pig in front of him, so he had to fully utilize it. He targeted Asyraaf and Pop*. Asyraaf stats popped up.
Name:Asyraaf Gavin
Race: Human
Rank: Level 2 Martial Practitioner
Level 3 Prime Refiner
STR: 15
AGI: 24
SP: 23
DEX: 19
DEF: 12
LCK: 7
Title: Little Genius
(Great increase in Comprhension)
Skills: [Wind Gale]
(Triples the speed for a set duration)
Lesser Skills: [Wind Palm], [Wind Bullet]
Zhang Wei was surprised to see the system was getting more comprehensive. But what he was really shocked at was that, this idiot is at Level 2? Never would he have expected that.
What's with that obnoxious title? Little Genius? Is this idiot actually a genius or is he just a slightly capable narcissit?
Zhang Wei couldn't figure out much looking at this guy's stats. He didn't know if Asyraaf was actually weak or strong. But unsurprisingly, with his unrestricted stats, even at Level 1, he could 1 shot Asyraaf as easy as he did with the Level 4 White Wolf Alpha.
A few interesting things that he noticed was that Asyraaf stats skewed more towards the Agility type Martial Practitioners. Such high disparity in STR and AGI. Surely his strength would be weaker compared to other Level 2 Martial Practitioners.
Another was his rank, Level 3 Prime Refiner. From his lesson with the sick teacher, he found out that Leveling up in ranks such as Physicians and Refiners, while not as much as Martial Practitioners, still required a lot of effort.

To reach Level 3 was quite impressive for Asyraaf's age. But what was even more impressive was being a Prime Refiner.
Normal Refiners would be classified in either Pill Refiners, Weapon Refiners or Artifact Refiners. But a Prime Refiner is special. They specialize in all type of refinement. What does this mean?
Well, to reach the Level 1 of Prime Refiner meant being Level 1 in other classifications of Refiners. But Asyraaf is at Level 3. What kind of genius is that?
Who would have thought an idiot would be this capable. Is the apocalypse closing in? While he may view Asyraaf in disgust a bit, he nevertheless had a bit of respect for him. And for Zhang Wei, that was a big compliment.
Although this function of this system was useful, he still had not found the answer to his question, what is the true strength of the top experts? If he remembered correctly, Division Head Nar said that she was one of the top experts in the city, so her strength should be high.
He didn't want to meet Division Head Nar right now, especially since she wants to take him as a disciple. His only option is to find some top expert soon and look at his stats.
As Zhang Wei was busy looking at Asyraaf stats, Asyraaf was having another kind of crisis. He looked at Zhang Wei in confusion.
Oi! Wait a minute! Why did Sir Zhang change so much? He was so imposing a minute ago, why does he look so much like a wimp now?! He could not believe his eyes, the aura that Zhang Wei had a minute ago was replaced with a wimpy aura.
I think I could even beat him right now with this kind of aura. But then he remembered the incident with the White Wolf Alpha, he threw that thought behind his head. He already had visual proof of Zhang Wei's true capabilities, so he was not willing to test it out. However, at the same time he was frightened that something happened to Zhang Wei.
Maybe his food was poisoned! If that was the case, then he would be screwed. Since he was the one who recommended this restaurant as their meeting place. he wasn't scared that Zhang Wei's life was in any danger, since Martial Practitioner had better immunity to poison. Plus Sir Zhang was an existence that could bludgeoned a Level 4 White Wolf Alpha.
"Um, Sir Zhang, are you ok?", Asyraaf couldn't help but ask. He didn't want to suffer Zhang Wei's wrath.
"Hm?", Zhang Wei who was busy looking at the system functions suddenly froze.
Wait just a damn minute!

8 84Shadowrun: Blake Island School of Magic
It's a high tech, low life. It's the Seattle Metroplex in 2074. It rises like a steel and concrete cancer out of the earth. Poverty is rampant, corruption is everywhere, crime is out of control, corporations basically control everything, the old United States is fractured, magic has come back and now it turns out that humanity has been joined by elves, dwarves, orks and trolls. The old world ended but the rent is still due. Life goes on. You'd be surprised what people can adapt to, especially if they don't have a choice. One of the places where life goes on is just west of Seattle. Surrounded by the waters of the Puget Sound is an island. On that island is the Blake Island School of Magic. A decade ago it was known for producing some of the most talented awakened in the world. That reputation was hijacked by the wealthy corporate elite who now park their teenage children there. And since it's a boarding school, their parents mostly forget about them. Three young people, who are certainly not wealthy or elite, are chosen this year to attend this school of magic in hopes of revitalizing their reputation for talent. One from the ash drifts of the Puyallup Barrens, one from the most densely populated slum hive in the world and one from prison. This is their story. -- This story is set in the Shadowrun universe. If you're not familiar with Shadowrun, it mostly tells the stories of deniable mercenaries called shadowrunners in a cyberpunk dystopia. Instead of telling another story solely about shadowrunners, this story will tell the tale of young people navigating a world that is indifferent to them at best and actively hostile at worst. Shadowrunners will be in the story and we'll see them operate, but they won't be its main focus. This story originally began in 2017 as a passion project and continues to this day on the Somethingawful.com forums. The unedited version is over a million words strong. There are currently seven books in this series and I am currently in the process of editing them. If you read this story then you won't lack for content. -- The Topps Company, Inc. has sole ownership of the names, logo, artwork, marks, photographs, sounds, audio, video and/or any proprietary material used in connection with the game Shadowrun.
