《Author Vs Protagonist》Chapter 21: Academy Points

Division Head Nar's calm face twitched a little when Zhang Wei rejected to be her disciple. In her mind, although Zhang Wei was a bit smart, his capabilities was still limited.
No matter how radiant and immense his talents were, it would be useless if he does not developed it properly.
This boy must be very prideful.
It was not an uncommon scene to witness, and Division Head Nar had seen it multiple times. Many geniuses who had great talent, due to their egoistic pride, simply was unwilling to bow to a master. They then proceeded to squander their talent and waste away their lives.
They thought that their current achievement was impressive and they had no need to seek tutelage. Little did they know that very same decision would bring their own ruin.
Masters and disciples, to keep it simple, are like pipes and water. The disciple is like flowing water, with their talent being the water intensity.
A wise master can act as a strong pipe that carries the water to its destined location. If a master is not capable, they would not be able to handle the intensity of the disciple's talent and break down, leading to the ruin of the disciple. The greater the talent of disciple, the wiser the master must be to handle it.
On the other hand, if the disciple's talent is weak, then no matter how wise the master is, their achievement will still be limited.
Division Head Nar inwardly sighed. She had thought that Zhang Wei was different compared to those egotistical fools. However, turns out that Zhang Wei was not any different.
"You have to consider this wisely Mr Roland. While I do admit your talent is greater than any I have ever seen, only with a suitable master that you can fully utilize that massive talent." she tried to make Zhang Wei think it through.

"While I may not be the strongest in the city, I am fully capable of standing toe to toe with the greatest expert. Am I by any chance not up to your standards?"
"You have it all wrong Division Head. My simple desire, is to be on the same playing field as the rest of the students. Experience the struggle they face to procure enough resources and learn the virtues of patience and determination. If I decide to be your disciple, my road would be smooth, but my character will lag behind.", Zhang Wei spoke eloquently.
Zhang Wei's shamelessness currently could be said to be of no equal. Not even the famous hollywood actors could step in Zhang Wei's shoes and spout nonsensical crap continously without the slightest bit of shame.
Division Head Nar acted like she had not heard what Zhang Wei had said. "Very well then Mr Roland. My offer however, still stands. If you experience any bottlenecks, don't be shy to come. My door is always open." One could not help but notice, the seductiveness of her voice.
A normal man, by now would be head over heels in love with her and would spare no effort to please her. However, who was Zhang Wei? He is the most shameless individual to ever exist. No one could even compare.
The only reason he was even attracted when he first met her, was due to the shock of finding out Curt's 'desire' for him. At that point, Zhang Wei was desperate to prove to himself that he was actually attracted to women.
Division Head Nar stood up and bid farewell to Zhang Wei. Vice Head Sheera glared at Zhang Wei before following Division Head Nar.
Zhang Wei's registration went through without a hitch. Merely an hour passed since he had the conversation with the Division Head and he already received his robe along with his Division Token.

Academies in this world do not function in the same manner as they do on earth. On earth, there are mandatory classes that one must attend, however in Zarion Academy, lessons are conducted inside of the division.
To participate in a lesson, the person simply has to look at the Lesson Board in the main office and pay the required amount of academy points to the teacher.
What are academy points? They are the currency used for all transactions inside the school. Resources, lessons and use of facilities all require academy points. The academy points are strictly handled by the four major divisions, and are distributed through the Division Token.
Every month, regular students receive 50 academy points which are used for daily lessons. The amount academy points received monthly increases as the student rises in rank and level.
For instance, in the Medical Division, after passing an examination, students can become a Level 1 Physician, which will double the monthly academy points given. When they reach Level 2 Physician, the amount doubles again.
Zhang Wei looked into his Division Token and saw that he had 500 academy points. He smiled and thought to himself. Division Head Nar sure is trying hard to get on my good side.
He walked towards the Lesson Board and looked at all the class schedule. The Lesson Board was fairly simple, with the name of the teacher and the classroom number stated.
The price for lessons vary depending on the teacher. According to the academy rules, to become a teacher, one must be at minimum Level 3 in their respective profession.
A Level 3 Physician's lesson cost 2 academy points, while Level 4 Physician's class cost 10 academy points. Zhang Wei frowned when he saw that. Is there a huge difference between Level 3 and Level 4 Physicians?
When Zhang Wei saw the cost of a single class with a Level 5 Physician, he almost fainted. 50 academy points! Such a massive difference!
With the generous amount of academy points Zhang Wei had received from Division Head Nar, he could only attend 10 lessons before he goes broke.
After thinking hard, Zhang Wei decided to go to a lesson by a Level 3 Physician. Since he had basically zero knowledge regarding Medicine, he might as well head to learn the basics first. He looked through and found three classes that offer to teach basic knowledge.
Unfortunately two of them were full, while one had zero attendees signing up.
Hmmm I have a bad feeling about this... Meh what could possibly go wrong.
He signed his name and headed towards the designated location.
